1965 Ford Falcon Update 2023

Moved to Post Falls Idaho from Vashon Island Washington. Drove my Falcon just over 300 miles! She did great. Still have a few more things I need to do like, installing an emergency brake system, paint, disc brakes and hook up my stereo. @GrandpaDanX10

hope you do a high way 41 one 2
I will try and do that!
i left post falls in 85 as a kid wow what happened to all the open spaces
@@tomporterjr652 I guess it's because so many people have left California, Washington and Oregon to move here to a more conservative state. Many new ones and buildings are going up. All I can say is they are doing a good job keeping it beautiful.
@@GrandpaDanX10 hope you show more post falls i miss it
@tomporterjr652 I have one more video I'm going to post with some pics of the river and other parks as well. What area are you living now?
Just wondering How do you close the cockpit? Canopy.
I had a white 65 Futura convertible back in the late 70s. I wish that I still had it !
@@tomsloger4073 I bet you do!
Love this video Bro, made me smile the whole way! Life is good ! Your wife is so cool and your car has great lines! Love this summer or Fall inspiration! Makes me miss you guys! You got it goin’ on!!! Keep lookin’ up it’s only gonna get better!❤ love the custom music!
@@randybruce6357 Thanks Randy, we just love the car and the trees are so beautiful right now.
Excellent video! Well done, great fall colors cruising in your cool car! Love it!!
1965 Falcon is the Perfect Year. Mine is bright yellow 🙂 Brings the Same Smile to my face :-)
fantastic
love those 2nd gen Falcons!
Perfect! 😅
NOT a Futura. Falcon Futura had many dress up items. Chrome along the sides, fancy dash, chrome around the door windows, fancy hub caps, the list goes on... This is a very clean base Falcon
You are correct sir. When I made the video I was pretty ignorant of all the different models.
You are correct sir. I was pretty ignorant when I purchased it, didn't know the difference.
Positively grease!

@@paulsterner8190 Thank you Paul.
Hey Mr driving down the road looking over at the. Corvette with a fake chic with her nose stuck to the head liner makes me (. ) though looking over at the falcon & seeing A woman driving with a. Proud smile because she's driving a cool falcon makes me want to blow my Horn. Don't worry about me Mr my Horn doesn't work I failed to to see the small print on my contract when bought My Tesla It says Batteries Not included
New Sub scriber Like your Falcon enjoyed the video I got a 1962 Ford Falcon ranchero So have fun with that car Enjoy the ride say safe my friends
Well, thanks. Interesting. I had my Comveetible once: 1961 GALAXIE/automatic/352/4 BBL; RED & White Top( that worked perfect, a new CANVAS?, when I bought in 1965….. unfortunately, bad tranny, engine, body work, etc. …. fell apart in 1967:, & before….Me, stumbling across my “:second favorite “ car a 1966 *GALAXIE 500/*XL/ **4 Speed/352 * / kind of like )Jay LENO’s wo 7LITRE/ & Front Disc Brakes (* I had to do METALLIC Sintered ,& Upgrade immediately, with a real MECHANIC ), new Tires & Shocks, etc. Oddly, that1966 Ford had : hazard switch in Glove Box, *& no Coolant Recovery System ( had to order from FORD PERFORMANCE (** remember that!), as not all Models in AUTO PARTS yet, etc.
@@opera93 Oh man, I had a Galaxie 500 myself. I loved that car! Good memories.
I had a white 65 Futura Convertible back in the late 70s. I wish tjat I still had it. Great video !
Back in the late 70s I had a 65 Futura convertible similar to that on. Your video brought back some good memories. Thaank you for the video, I am looking forward to more of them.
Lovely 64 Ragtop, your Dad is lovely and a wonderful man. Blessings from England UK
Like and subscription! 👍
I like the way driving your car puts a smile on your face. It did for me too when I was driving my '37 Ford hot rod. 👍👍 😀😀
Idaho.
Everyone needs a 64 convertible and a dozer in their shop..nice..
Don’t you have them? I thought it was the law.
The 69 Mustang hood scoop looks out of place As well with the shackles in the back Ugh This isn't the 50s No more Sorry
For sure the shackles don't work for me either. Going to replace my leaf springs. I like the hood scoop because it's low profile. Anyway, it's not a stock machine in any way. Do you have a Falcon? Interested in how you set yours up. Cheers.
@@GrandpaDanX10 Yes Pal I own a 64 Ford Futura sport roof at present my X wife backed into the front of it and Lookin hard for a front bumper the panel behind the bumper both headlight rings and clean fenders that have the Futura trim as I had a 94 Mustang GT with the fuel injection its Rusted out and I put it all in the 64 Falcon Futura with overdrive auto and the hood closes the shorty headers worked was Alot of Wirein the hardest was the fuel tank and return lines and its all fabricated with the factory fuel pump from the Mustang to the falcon as I'm 69 years old and refuse to give up on it Its just a matter of time in finding the parts I need to complete it and Enjoy Just wished I could enjoy drivin it on the street From what I have got to do with it and do know its Quick and the rear is a 9 inch with a 3.89 Gear from a 57 Ford and fits Great
That is awesome! Don't give up on her. I just love the process of improving, touch up, paint, making it my own etc. You are never too old. I am 64 and I just do a little every year to improve my Falcon. I just love looking at it if nothing else. I hope you get yours on the road soon. Keep up the good work! Cheers to you.
Beautiful baby
Pretty lady shifting that Hurst stick like a pro!
my first car was a 62 falcon,straight 6 ,miss it a lot!
I hear you. There is just something about a Falcon that meets your needs. My first Falcon was a 64 with a straight six. I love those six cylinders. They actually had some power! Cheers to you Doug.
Great video, and your music selection after your drum solo was really nice! Beautiful car, beautiful garage, you got it right my friend!
I had a 65 Futura convertible back in the late 70s. It was white with white top and red interior. I wish I still had it.
Oh man, I feel ya. I found out that mine is actually Not a Futura after all. It is just a sedan, but I don't really care. I love it!
Beautiful car
Nice 😂drummers!
Congratulations family!!!! From Argentina 👋🏻😎🇦🇷
What i like most is your wife.not the car.you can keep the car and I keep your wife.how about that sr.
Lmao as they marvel at superior free market technology in their primitive language.
Might be a silly question but, does the seat go back further? It looks like y’all are right on top of the steering wheel when you drive it. Is that a normal thing with the Falcon? Asking because I’m thinking about buying one. Thanks. 😊
Yes it goes much further back, my wife and I have short legs lol. My 6' 3" son-in-law can drive it no problem. I think you need to buy one. These Falcons are pretty light and if you put a V8 in one it just scoots! However, I had one with a six cylinder and it had plenty of pep. They are just fun cars. Good luck on your search.
It may not be a genuine Futura, but it IS as nice as any Falcon I've ever seen. Nice job, and glad you fixed that annoying rattle. It just gets better!
Thank you John!
Yes, I did finally understand that my Falcon is not a Futura. Oh well, I still love it!
Fab car there sir. Love the memory montage with that WHO inspired song. Very cool. 2nd song with the keyboards and vocals... also very cool [B3 solo and arrangement that matched up with the riffing... very cool as well].
Thank you Robert, first video I ever made with edits. I just love the car and it has been fun tinkering with it. Cheers to you.
Believe the Pertronix need a full 12 volts for them to work properly, need to install a 12volt relay use the hot wire from the ignition to switch it....
I was born August 19,1965
Great year to be born
Great vid !
Ultra proper Falcon🤩
I had a stripped down 1967 Ford Falcon that I loved. I got 185 k miles out of the car before I traded it for a Torino. The falcon had a 289 cu in V8 and three on the column. I took very good care of it with 3500 mile oil and filter changes with a chassis lube. There was not that much to go wrong with it, the car was basic. I bought it as a Demo model with 5 k on it. I kept Michelin tires on the rims , use two sets of four in the 185k miles. I very much regretted trading it in, but my new wife was brutal on the clutch and trans. The car was basically a mustang stripped down. It had minimal chrome and flash. The two tone colors were done by good ole Earl Shibe with the $200 paint job. The car Was trouble free and good in the snow. Economy was 21 Mpg, On my daily ride. Around town 18 Mpg.on Regular gas. It was not an eye catcher, nor did I abuse it with Drag racing. I left that to all my metal head, gear jumping friends. The car sat 6 comfortably. Front and rear seat were the bench type.nothin out of the ordinarily special was done to it. I never git a ticket as the car was an invisible Sky Blue. I did install very good sound deadening carpets and kept then super clean. Smoking was never permitted inside the cab. A good car is merely dependable great transportation.
My wife had a 67. I wish we never sold it! Right after we sold it, a huge tree fell on it and totaled it. Maybe you will be able to find another one in the future. Cheers to you.
Wow Dan! Nice video! Thanks for creating it!
Nice looking car we made the Ford Falcon here in Australia. Please look after her.
Will do. She is my baby! Thanks
OMG Great video ...I love it ...Keep the videos comming :)
Will do, thanks for the encouragement!
What a cool car I have a sixty five hard top working on little by little I have so many projects right now but I can't wait to get it going
Understand. I have a new garrage and have been arranging things so that I can work on my 65 with more room to jack it up and really get under it. Next project is installing a parking break. Wish me luck! Have a blast tinkering with your baby. Slow and sure is the ticket. Cheers
50 years ago when I 13 working in my father's garage we bought a 1965 falcon same body style but dark blue for the same price 50$ but no transmission.
Such a deal! You might be able to buy a used fender for $50 now days. These cars are not cheep anymore are they.
