[REVIEW] Gotchifix LG303 - Multimeter / Waveform Gen / Oscilloscope
Remember "Space 1999"? If they ever used a multimeter in there, it would have probably looked like the GotchiFix LG 303.
But besides its looks, the little unit has some nifty features under the hood.
Let's Explore!
Be aware that the unit is currently only available in the US! GotchiFix is working on licensing the LG303 international, but since is is a pretty new product, this may take a bit.
If you want to get one for yourself (and live in the US), use this link: amzn.to/3Po4EHC
And to get 25% off the regular price, use this code: 25Detlef

PCB Schematics With Nets (and why they are cool)
มุมมอง 3095 หลายเดือนก่อน
If you looked at one of my schematics, you know that I'm a huge fan of drawing them with Net labels instead of direct connections. To me, net's make the schematic so much more readable - let me show you guys. No schematics or source co download in this video :) The Canary Connection: Learn Electronics Repair (Richard) - @LearnElectronicsRepair Retro Upgrade (Carlos) - @RetroUpgrade Meet us live...
MultiLoad [LER] - Now With 100% More Display!
มุมมอง 6266 หลายเดือนก่อน
Sponsored by PCBWay pcbway.com/g/k01o3S - the best way to get your PCB's! This is how projects mutate - when I talked to Richard from LER for the first time about MultiLoad, I had no idea where this would end... Oh well. MultiLoad is an electronic load - you use it for testing power supplies, batterys, PowerBanks, etc. It can connect to the source via banana plugs, a "normal" USB jack or a USB-...
Res Cloq - the world's first resistor colour coded clock! (maybe)
มุมมอง 1.7K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
50 kOhms to midnight? Allready? This one was suggested by one of the viewers on our bi-weekly live stream: build a clock that displays the current time in the resistor colour code - challenge accepted. I went down a few rabbit holes in the process (most are shown in the video), but besides the working clock, I hacked a pretty neat (if I say so myself) framework for projects on an ESP32 - all in...

The Big Board Shootout - what's the best MCU module for your project?
มุมมอง 4049 หลายเดือนก่อน
One of the biggest descisions in early development with MCUs is always - what "Board/MCU do I use?" Of course, you can hit nearly every project with an ESP32 - could be slightly overkill to blink 2 LEDs. But to know what MCU MCU Module you want, you have to know what's available. Let me help ya with that. BTW: if you're missing STM MCUs: last time I checked there was no really good support in t...

Sponsored by PCBWay pcbway.com/g/k01o3S - the best way to get your PCB's! Back in the days, when there were no MCUs anywhere, we still needed a way to detect logic levels. Not A Review: XDO Pantera Pico 8 Mini PC

Sorry for the choppy video in some parts! I have an idea what caused that - but was too lazy to re-record. You've been warned. Mini (Micro?) PC are all the rage - and when I saw this little bugger, I needed to have one in my life. Nice specs, teeny-tiny form factor... are there any downsides (spoiler: yes, they are)? To be clear: this is not a sponsored video - I bought the machine with my own ...

"I Heard The Cricket Nevermore" _Edgar Allan Poe_ Did you ever read "The Tell Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe or "Rats In The Walls" by my good friend H.P. Lovecraft? UPDI - The Next Best Thing Since Bread Came Sliced
มุมมอง 4.7K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
Programming an MCU is always something to consider. Do I need in circuit programming? Can the MCU be removed to be programmed? Does the project needs to be be user-updatable in the future? With something like an ATTINY85 you need a dedicated programmer; you can do in-circuit, but this takes careful planning on the surrounding circuit and could even be impossible to archive. And then UPDI came a...
ATTiny85 Programmer (based on an Arduino Nano)
มุมมอง 1.8K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
Back in the last project I did with Richard from @LearnElectronicsRepair , we used a ATMEL ATTiny85 as our go-to MCU. Upside: extra low component count, downside: the naked chip needs a programmer. I did a video about this programmer back on my german channel - here's the decrypted version for all you non-german people out there :) The board is based around a standard design that I adopted to w...
The Incredible Mr. Bleep - Continuity Mode reimagined (in cooperation with LER)

Sponsored by PCBWay pcbway.com/g/k01o3S - the best way to get your PCB's! What if there wasn't only a bleep? What if your multimeter could tell you way more with short bleeps and different frequencies? What if this was doable with a little microcontroller? This video is based on one of Richard's 4:00 a.m. Ideas: let's build a continity meter that can tell you if it sees a simple short, a schott...
