I think you just click the surface with the measure tool and it will tell you the surface area in the bottom left corner.

I'm not sure, I just click on the measure tool.

@@JCADInc I understand. I use the measure tool a lot and thought it would be easier to press one button

@@XplanZ perhaps it is possible. Google it or check settings in eDrawings. I agree, it might be a bit easier to have a 'hot key' for different tools in eDrawings.

Hi Chuck, have you tried clicking on points of the circle or arc? eDrawings let's you click on end points, quarter points and center points. See if that helps.

correct, select the rotate tool on top of the screen to rotate

@@Plusplusultra or press and hold the wheel button, that’s what I found. If you choose the rotate tool, press it again after rotation is done to come back to measurement. This is another tip.

@@Plusplusultra Could be. These files being generated and sent to me from outside parties. I didn't know if it was something on my end or theirs when they generate the file.

@@Plusplusultra Thanks, but it's not shown in the video. The video mainly shows how to measure distances existing shapes, like circle/square/rectangle. What I need is to measure the distance between any two points (see two points inside one circle).

​@@Plusplusultra Thanks for your quick reply. What if there is only one flat circle, no [shown] points inside the circle. In this case, I cannot highlight anywhere inside the circle, but the circle itself. Hope this explains what the real issue I'm facing with. Thanks.

@@YongtaoHU I see! Yes sometimes there are features with no points and it's not possible to measure. What you can do is measure the radius or diameter of the circle and then measure a straight section and add them up. Does that help?

Hi Freddy, when you save the file from Solidworks, make sure you click on options and then find the setting for saving as an eDrawing file and make sure the checkbox for "allow measure tool" is checked.

Before 3D printing only about 0.1% of people with ideas would actually do something with them as it would cost easily tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars to create. How about 3D printing your own medical devices and decreasing the trips people need to take to the hospital lowering the health care cost on governments?
