The Karni Mata Temple was built by Maharana Karan Singh in Udaipur Rajasthan between 1620 and 1628, while he executed the development of the residential areas in Machla Magra. The temple was not very popular until 1997, and was visited by very few people. It was only after the redevelopment project undertaken by the Mansapurna Karni Mata Development Committee in 1997, that devotees started flooding the temple premises in thousands. Today, the temple is fully equipped with easily accessible staircases and ropeways, along with multiple resting places for the convenience of the followers and devotees of Karni Mata.
Temple legend :-
Visiting the temple twice a day is considered auspicious. It is said, if you are visiting the temple in the morning as well as in the evening, Karni Mata herself fulfills your aspirations and wishes. This way, as per traditions, Karni Mata lengthen your life age.Legends also state that for a brighter life and good fortune in future, devotees must aim at feeding the rats in the temple premises. If you take care of rats this way, Karni Mata admires your move and you gain her respect.
Temple timings :-
The Temple is open for tourists from 4:00 in the morning till 7:30 in the evening. Timings for Darshan of Mansapurna Karni Mata are 4:30 AM till 7:00 AM and then from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Evening Darshan timings of Karni Mata at the Udaipur temple are between 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM.
How to reach Karni Mata Temple Udaipur
The Udaipur Karni Mata Temple is located approximately 25 KM away from the Udaipur airport and roughly 4 KM from the Udaipur railway station and City Bus Depot. It is located in the center of the city where devotees care reach easily through local tongas, taxis and auto-rickshaws.
Visitors of the temple need only reach Doodh Talai Lake, from where ropeways will further help you reach the temple. The Temple is located at a distance of 5 minutes from the ropeway station. Visitors who prefer to reach the temple on foot can also take the help of the staircase accessible from the Manikya Lal Verma Park near the lake. Reaching this temple is not an easy deal. But the hillock of Karni Matha temple will tempt you with its beauty. Easy way is to take a ropeway, then climb up a little bit to reach here. Some would climb all the way up too. There are staircases for the same. Whichever way you come, it’s all worth for the view you get from top of the hill.

आजादी के बाद जैसे लगता है कि कांग्रेस सरकार जो अधिक समय तक भारत में सत्ता में रही, उसने जान बूझकर पुराने हिंदू राजाओं के महल, मंदिर आदि को उनके हाल पर छोड़ दिया। परिणाम स्वरूप ये सभी स्थल नष्ट होने कि कगार पर है, आगे देखते है वर्तमान सरकार कुछ कर पति है या नहीं।
