Some business 😮
😊👍
you have to look what the site offer because that's what your paying for. the show bar, the swimming pool if you don't use then you still pay. how many months the site is open. but then you need to look at really how often you will use it. and don't say I will come up every week end it is not likely how far away from home. if its close then why do you want it you can easy drive to were you can go from home. if you can find the price to just hire and stay for the dates you are planning to use and it is less than Site fees, electricity and gas, insurance and servicing cost then why bother.
Entrance and kitchen ok , light and clean not too dated looking living room looks more dated than some of the 2008/9 models from other makers. Sofa really awful . Most importantly the electrics box in the kids room is a huge no no , how did they let that one get through the new design plans. Well spotted ! 👋
People really need to hear this
Anyone who pays £90k for a rapidly depreciating tin box on someone else's land with no legal rights needs their head testing! I own a van on a private site, I would NEVER pay more than £30k and include its depreciation in the cost of ownership over a long period such at 15+ years.
You have no idea how these sites work. Those pitches are on sale because they're the worst of them all, cramped, no space inbetween, poor site position, and are failing to sell. Also, deals are often limited to a pre fixed number of years, typically 3, then revert to higher 'standard' prices. Go video the pitches for us to see. Clearly working for the park sales team 😂. Clearly cant be trusted to provide authentic unbiased reviews.
Lol park shut so I can see where the pitches are, they have told me and yeah standard pitches but still under 2k that's good 👍 and it wouldn't just jump up or change after x years but it does go up each year with inflation
Goes up on inflation, our site fee with pd is 9k currently offering 5495 on new sales won’t let me keep my pitch and can’t offer me another with space for our current decking, told me they’ll move me if I’m happy to cut my decking. Lost 90k in 3 years people should research and do plenty of research before buy the nightmare. I mean dream 😂
Sorry you've had a bad experience, however we love our van
Let's go
Calor Gas and Shell have stopped selling LPG gas for cars.LPG is a green gas environmental better than Diesel &Petrol there is only one place selling it in a 20 mile radius, bang out of order after the expense of converting my car.Thats what I get for going GREEN don’t mention HEAT PUMPS horrendously expensive.
Having dealt with Calor as a business customer, i have personal experience of being charged more per bottle on an order of 15x47kg bottles than our neighbour who had a single 47kg delivered to his home in the same week. Calor refused to even match the price, let alone beat it, so i would not be at all surprised if Parkdean is being charged more than the average private customer
Why tho was your neighbour getting it cheaper? That does seem very strange
@MyStaticLife I agree. Common sense would say bulk orders get favourable pricing, but they stonewalled us. Wouldn't confirm the price difference even though we had seen the invoice. Wouldn't renegotiate our prices. We ended up going to a local supplier, and their prices were so much lower that we could resell the Calor 47kg bottles for less than Calor would sell them to us
Because you’re still buying it
You know the word Bol locks no company would absorb prices. they are Parkdean. I knew a person who used 6 bottles a year... If you believe that then Labour are Not damaging the country They charged FULL site fees during Lockdown.
We can buy our bottles off site at Ocean edge and it's £75 a bottle luckily
Good saving that 👌
I am going to call it for what it is, I holiday at a park deans and I own a van at Butlins. The beer is too expensive at Park Deans. Example... Doom Bar = £6.09 !!!! It is only £5.20 at Butlins. Someone at head office at Park Deans needs the sack for putting these price up and forgetting what they are selling The club should be heaving at the seems, customers should be merry singing and dancing before stumbling back to their vans happy. That is what they are selling. That is a person expects when they book a UK caravan park. Instead they seem to want to sell basic food in a nice setting, which is not what a family of 4 from the midlands books a caravan holiday for. They need to get back to basics as they will suffer. Butlins has been heaving all year in all the clubs.
100% agree and I think where butlins get it right is they now put on events..... you hear people all time ohh yeah going to 80s weekend at butlins.... off with girls for weekend at butlins and everyone get dressed up
@MyStaticLife Yea, but a holiday is what you make it... but I just realised I have never paid more than £6 for a pint anywhere ever. And I go to lots of places. I tell you this, if you can't get me in a club then something is wrong. I love to see people enjoying themselves and letting their hair down. I don't know why they are doing it.
Butlins site fee increase is 2.6% next year by the way. Any news on Park Deans?
Depends on the park some like ours 2.9% but others 5%
We made the decision early on not to have a caravan on a site owned by one of the large National companies and site it on a family owned site. Now I’m sure this is not black and white but most of the complaints I see are from people on large National sites. To be fair you can often get a better deal when you first purchase new or used on one of these sites but my goodness you pay for it down the line.
I understand that and that's a fair point... The reason we went for a large site... 1. We had read horror stories of people just been kicked off if the site ever sell... 2. If my business is ever doing badly.... then we can always rent to holiday makers
Pantsdowndean will never change.
It's a pretty good name that ain't it.... I know alot like sharkdean but pantsdowndean is accurate
I am def sure it can not be worth that much money. £17.995 it can not be worth it. even with he decking. the seating would be over a £1,000 to redo so very expensive. you can not really keep a static warm over winter gas bottles are expensive. I am not sure if even worth £10K does it include the Yr site fees. autotrader have yr close statics is nearer my price value. what they have done to make it look good is new flooring. so it hides the foot dirt from hiring out. And on the park what are the age restriction. and the site fees etc. you can for £18K get a newer caravan on a number of sites.
Still not convinced this was a rental as it doesn't have the usual damage normally seen on dinning table and chairs and all edging around sofas and units.... I think there could be a deal to be had here tho 🤔
@@MyStaticLife over time you could have replaced any item in the caravan. recovering the settee costs over £1k.
This is true also, but I mean on the actual woodwork of the built in sofa's and built in seating are no damage.... hard to replace admittedly not impossible bit the parks generally don't bother assuming a certain level of wear and tear is acceptable.... honestly if you saw some of the vans I've seen for sale this year on park you'd get me
18k for probably 4 years left, then the land owners will offer you a grand if lucky. On top of that, a few thousands in site fees per year; plus other bills. Rather spend the £18k plus £4k site fees x 4 over the 4 years of having many amazing holidays. Imagine all the amazing holidays you could have for 34k. Cruises; luxury Caribbean islands; traveling around europe; taking kids Disney land; that dream holiday destination you always wanted to go; or even purchasing a decent campervan or motorhome and travelling all of UK and europe, which you still would have well over 4/5 years. Imagine having to spend all your holidays sat in the same old depressing metal box; on the same depressing camp site with all its dreadful rules and regulations sat on a plot the size of a postage stamp; with awful UK cold; damp; depressing weather. No thanks.
you have to account for a 4 or 5 years then you will have a removal cost from the site and or scrapping which could be 2 to 3 K to do by the site.
So there 6 year left, then after that you might be able to get a few quid off a trader or scrap man?
OK say you might not like caravan life, but many do many form great friendships and love to be there every single weekend 🙌
@@MyStaticLife you have to find out from the site they have 1st rights to the caravan and scrapping may cost you. i know some one who ended up scrapping a far newer caravan and it cost them over £2k to do it. even if you get some one to buy it you have disconnection fees by the site. and fees for ending contract. these fees are hidden until you want to leave the site.
I can't argue with that I'm not 100% sure the fees involved in disconnection at our site and all sites will be different
Why would anyone want to live in one of these monstrosities.
No one saying live in it.... holiday home somewhere to come at a weekend 😆😊👌
Think I would be bored of it after a while. Rather spend the money on having a few holidays abroad each year. You can get European holidays pretty cheap, and in that 4 years, can travel many amazing places and have many amazing experiences. Imagine having to go to the same place for the 4/5 years if has left. Having to do your own cleaning and cooking. When I go on holiday, I like to relaxed and see some sun. I like to explore new places and see new cultures. 18k plus 4k each year site fees, could be spent better. For that, you can also purchase some decent campervans and motorhomes and travel around UK or Europe. Sorry but don't even find that static looks nice, too depressing.
@leahkeyworth this is 100% a fair argument, but one of the reasons people buy is its a little home from home.... you keep most of your stuff there then on a Friday after work just in the car and head there, or those who are retired might spend all summer there
Just my opinion folks... I reckon you are spot on with visual cooker operation instructions evident - the van is an ex rental. Owner/ site made lots of money in the 16 years from new. Another giveaway is new carpets and flooring and Boiler. Agree its nice now these have been done but with visual look of furniture its a base model not Premium model. So with age of van only 5-6 years left on licence and overall contents id offer £12500 max on the table paid in full to the seller. The decking looks only a side access i metre type to door opening not even a decent size for table and chairs or sun loungers.
It's a faie point.... and yes I agree got to have been a rental this one.... but usually with rentals there is alot of wear and tear and there isn't on this
Interesting how the costs and rules are different super inflated costs in uk compared to spain. Abroad is more aa attractive alternative folks!!
I'd love to visit abroad and see what it's like on parks over there.... are you living abroad?
For me, no. I think people will balk at the price compared with how long is left. But these old decent vans with 4 years left do have a place. If you are a family of three households for instance. Mom and Dan, a son and his wife with two kids, and a daughter and her fella and their kid. Because it is only a four year commitment, and pretty cheap split 3 ways. I think if someone asked me to fork out 5 or 6k, for a third share in a van, and split the costs 3 ways, with only a 4 year commitment, I would be interested. Especially if I had to holiday during school holidays as it would work out cheaper.
You know I never thought about it like that, but yes you are right if a few members of the family can all chip in with the costs it can be a very cheap and practical way to go about it.... Good thinking 🙌
I know people that live in worse houses or Apartments. It is not bad for the money.
It's pretty decent you have to remember tho these are holiday homes you can't live in them full time
@@MyStaticLife I gues because of the law? We have the same with Schrebergarten in Germany. I mean it is your property and your house on it, but you are not allowed to live there permanently. It is soooooo stupid. 😅😅😅
@pablocamargo8744 yeah all to do with local councils in fact alot only open 10 months of the year
Its not what you buy it where you buy it a bottle of water is 50p in a shop same bottle of water at the airport would be £4
This is very true.... or in a club in ibiza same bottle of water £20 upwards 😳😳😳 you are right but then people must understand when trying to sell back that a van in a well sought after location might not get anywhere near what they paid as its value is really much less
I love your all your videos .. I've read so many bad reviews about buying a static caravan .. it made me very worried .. I went to white acres in Cornwall ,I just had that happy feeling about the place .. I knew by your videos it's not an investment but more like a family thing .. So now I am a proud owner of a swift Bordeaux 2020
Thats awesome the Bordeaux is such a lovely van I think someone on our site just bought a 2020 one and it's nearly identical to ours.... I think you've picked a great van I wish you many happy years in it 😊
I had a caravan on one of the biggest holiday company, when I wanted to sell it was it's a box it's worthless what are you going to do with it, it's quite a prestigious site. Caravan in is the biggest rip-off to man . He told me most people stay on a site for 3 to 4 years. At Skegness I was looking at a dealer that had a Willoughby Vogue lodge for 77000 which I have seen up for sale in a site down south£124.000
The prices people loose can be crackers at times I'm afraid.... I hope I manged to explain it well in this video tho
Here we go
Enjoy buddy
Well ours is 2005 so even older, it also has yellow walls, and an old gas fire, it also has character and cost us peanuts. We love it.
I agree it's a lovely van.... I like it, in fact I loved it because of the character
Looks comfy and cozy!!
100%, would look better on a ranch?
😊😊😊
🙌🙌🙌
So after been sat for several months this lodge has ben sold!..... question would you like a Lodge? or do you prefer a caravan?
We had a static we lost a fortune but buy a campervan and your 80,000 is worth more in 3 years or at the worst lose a couple of grand 😊
This is true campervans do seem to hold there value, some even go up in value bonus 🙌
@@MyStaticLife we loved our static we had it on southview in Skegness but we realised that we were losing thousands of pounds per year which if you work out the depreciation and site fees we were spending was ridiculous it was cheaper and better to buy a campervan we could use as and when we want and only pay per night site fees or even a bit of wild camping as we get a bit older our last thing will be a tourer and a seasonal pitch near where we live that is only around £1500 per year that we can put our tourer on ☺️
Yeah I appreciate that your 100% right you are saving 1000s each year doing it this way.... I wish you all best with it 🙌
well reviewed,i also found the van excellent,( the step dad ) & better than most of the other reviewed vans previously , great unbiased review
Cheers Bob, be interesting to see if the site see the review and what they think 🤔
Caravan Time 😊😊😊
Exactly hope you enjoyed buddy
When we had our van last year before we sold it last December in April last year the site tried to get us to buy a new van ours was 12 years old, they offered us a good trade in price, they showed us pictures of the new van they wanted us to buy, it looked pretty basic they wanted £64000 for this new van , but I went on line and found the exact van they tried to sell us on another site and guess what they wanted £36000 . Talk about trying to rip you off.
I'm going to guess you was on a premium site where they can sell vans at a higher rate, not sure its necessarily ripping you off more like post code thing.... example my little house is valued at 145k however in next village same house 200k so I guess there's a fair bit of that going on.... but yes you buy a van that's 64k on your site but only 36k on another come sell it you'll probably be lucky to get 12k back
Are you allowed to have 2 cars on the park
@@angelablake8709 as far as I'm aware yes
Would you like to see more videos like this? Travelling to other parks?
Simple fact is that you should only ever spend your hard earned money to buy a caravan if you plan to keep it for 20+ years and want to have somewhere to make memories and enjoy life. If it’s ever about MONEY then never buy a caravan. Simple as that
if its about money you wouldn't spend it at all, just keep it like scrooge lol
We sold our 39x12 static last December it was 12 years old in excellent condition with central heating, and double glazing, the site gave us £2500. It's a rip off the site owners are only your friends when your buying, when your selling there your worst enemy. It surely has to have resale value just like second-hand cars they have a guide line price. Yes it's a holiday home with memories but those memories get tarnished when some joker offers you say £10000 for your lovely van, only to find they have resold it for £29000. People on the site we were on spent £20000 on decking with the site owners, talk about having money to burn.
I understand your frustration, but that's the point I'm making in this video, that ultimately you loose money, same way you would with a car.... If you bought a Merc at £40k what would you expect a dealer to give you in 12 years? probably not much....and yes decking can quickly add up, but I have decking too and I wouldn't be without it makes such a huge difference to be able to sit outside on deck in summer. Would you not have a caravan again then?
Glad you are so happy with the new holiday home. Hope you make lots of happy memories.
Thank you we love it here :)
You have a lovely van, and the little touches you have done look really great, really enjoying these videos, keep up the good work.👍
Thank you, glad your enjoying the videos, I'm working on next week's already, different location tho 🤫😁
Great videos, we love watching, didn't realise you were on Sunnydale. We've been lots of times.
Yeah initially plan was to keep it secret 😉
@@MyStaticLife We've been visiting for best part of 20 years. Did think of buying. And may still do, now kids have all gone🙂. Used to have one on thorpe park (now Cleethorpes beach). Years ago. When the kids were little. There's nothing better.
@@markthornton9260 well if you do let them know Shane from my static life recommended you lol and id buy you a couple of pints :), if youve been coming 20 years you probably know the park better than me the good bits and even the bad lol
Love your gran❤
I've just screen shot this and sent it to her, will make her day.... sadly she can't come to site this year as she's caring for my grandad but keep your eyes peeled she always lurking in comments of the videos 🙌
It’s a really nice model
Thank you, we love it 🙌
Can I be cheeky and ask you where you are and how much your new van cost 👍
Lol you can but I'm not going to say price on here just let's say it was very much on the lower end, and sunnydale is our park
Are these lodges categorised as static caravans/mobile homes? I E if I were to site it in the rear garden of a relatives house for use as a granny annexe would it need planning permission? Good review TY although it would have been better minus the swearing. 😮🙂. Thanks
You would need to look into that, but I image no planning needed... if for garden look for traders that maybe able to source one that is second hand and save a fortune! As for swearing yeah we've been working on that the newer videos are better lol
