Thanks Sam for checking in on my ole dad😊
Crazy things about this video is what that street looks like now (a few years ago the army was training there) And just the fact you had a camera back then, good video by those standards
This was my house 10 years ago and the video was taken by my son. So much has changed since then.
4:15 Those are not broken water lines. That is ground water forced to the surface by the earthquake as "sand boils". Oh, and in an earthquake of that size, you are going to get aftershocks. Big ones. Soon.
Horrible filming! Damn camera is bobbing around so much I can’t see shit!
Earth.....the waters are above and below us....read genesis.
Liquefaction or torn sewer?
Liquefaction primarily and the sewer as well. The water table in the area was quite high and the share g force that was amplified by the local hills caused a large amount of liquefaction.
The dog ...
I'm left wondering if the house sunk evenly. Or did you have to get the house jacked up and leveled? Cheers!
Cameron Hollis the house sunk towards the cracks that formed in the ground. We ended up loosing the house and land but we were insured :) so ended up getting a nicer house
Sam McK Wow. They condemned the land! I didn'tknow that. My interestis piqued. I must research the aftermath. How terrible for those who were not insured. And it goes without saying, the terrible loss of life and serious life changing injuries. Cheers.
I was wondering the same thing where is this because it's happening everywhere lots of stuff is chamging with the earth I'm glad y'all are ok
"record this for the science people" and all of us! :D
Looks like busted water lines, now. I pray all will give their life to Jesus Christ before it’s too late.
Kathy Newman nope. Its groundwater that is pushed up by compacting earth caused by the earthquake.
God damnit. Oh lord. Ones of these Jesus freaks escaped again. My life is mine. The end.
This is called a natural disaster Soil liquefaction
@@J.Cameron.Stuart.Adams. also stop putting down religions I study all 4,200 religions you have not one right to judge this person for thier belife!!
It's so nice to hear you guys asking if others are OK I hope you are all ok. You have a big mess to clean up. Stay safe
2:36 you were in the middle of natural disasters and what you said is "Shit this is so cool" lol
Retrospect is an interesting thing lol, the liquefaction was a fascinating process to observe however it wasn't a good time for the people of our city
Found it hilarious too they had no idea
I know it's destructive but liquefaction is so interesting.
Over two years down the track and the old house is still standing. Looking a bit sad. 5- percent of the houses are gone.
my parents used to live at 51,kingsford St.their house is red stickered and gng to be demolished ... do u know anyone who got any youtube video?
@Krissytina10 I totally agree mate, I would expect South Brighton to be alot worse than us, Best of luck with your recovery :)
@hebneh Yeah it ended up being about 1 foot deep around most of the house, spent a few days digging! And apologies about the bad camera work, as soon as the quake hit I grabbed the camera then went from there
It's so peculiar to see this muck come bubbling up out of the ground in so many places in this otherwise normal suburban scene. I wish the camera had been held steady, though.
Its Harry and Margaret Hills across the road ,how is the street now. Do you have power and do we have a red sticker, Thanks Harry
Good footage
