Scott’s Tool Thoughts
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 21 ส.ค. 2012
I'm an A/V- Low volt contractor. I love tools, and I like to be organized and efficient. If a tool makes my job easier, I'll own it! It's got to be quality, though.

@scottstoolthoughts3190 - in search for a review on the Railer MagMat Strap, I saw your zip tie holder. Could you be so kind as to direct me to what it’s called and where I might be able to pick one of those up? Thank you sir.
What's the difference between PT-300 vs PT-100?
Where can I purchase a velocity bag
How's Elvis doing?
@@jeremy67A Not sure what you mean.
came across that exact vintage zip tie clipper in my grandfather's tools and had no idea how it worked. thank you sir
@@carltons2278 glad to be of assistance!
Go bucks!
Amazing
Down to $35 on Amazon this weekend. Nov. 10 2024 (Their production must have been INSANE, and *that's* why they shut it down... They're still selling them 2 years after close-down! "How many can we sell at a profit?")
They make a KBN-125 now which are spring loaded, check them out!
I just got down cleaning a set of large sockets. One is gigantic and takes a 1 inch drive. I put them in evaporust for a couple days and then in a bucket of hot water with dawn. Then I used this wire attachment on a drill to get deep in the sockets. Then I gave them a toot of wd40 on the inside and again on the outside and wiped them with a towel.
Where did you get the tapered drywal punch? Thank you in advance.

From the manufacturer website: "Warranty Your Railer tools are backed by a limited warranty. Railer Tools warrants that at the time the product is purchased it is free from defects in materials or manufacturing and conforms to Railer’s specifications for the product." That might be the most pathetic warranty I've ever seen on a tool. I think it speaks volumes as to what Railer themselves think of their own durability.
Just picked up the metrics ones for 29.99, the last ones on the shelf... I was looking for the SAE set !!
Thanks for the heads up
Sorry about the horrible audio and the yelling, folks! Sitting in my van, trying to make a video.
Better hide those animals from the hordes of unwanted invaders (if you know what I mean!)
I know EXACTLY what you mean, My Friend! 😂😂
@@scottstoolthoughts3190 👍🏻
Are you still carrying that much after 6 years, I highly doubt it.
Hey brother if your hanging off a roof and need to cut something. Your left hand has a drill or paint brush or something in it. One handed operation becomes very useful. But I definitely apprieciate all tools two handed and 1 handed. I just wish this knife had a better detent
I have a newer set of these and I love them. They get a hell of a bite and I grab these before I grab my knipex.
It's nice to see that other people also care about supporting 🇺🇸 manufacturing.
I love these snap on, they cut perfect. I was watching your video on malco eagle grips and you can still get the 7" along with other sizes at Harry J Epstein.
I have at least 20 of the different size malco eagle grips. I try my best to support 🇺🇸 manufacturing. I guess people just don't appreciate quality anymore. At least snap on bought the tooling and they will keep manufacturing them. If you want some malco's at a reasonable price, several places still have them in stock.
I like the Ballistol too, but I also like to use fluid film and kroil.
Recently I bought my velocity rouge 3.0xs and it's really awesome and with plenty of space for all my tools .I was thinking about buying the veto ot-mc. Anyway Velocity pro gear and Veto pro pac are the toolbags kings!!
How about instead of commenting how much you don’t like it, comment on how to use the fucking thing. What an ass.
Thanks had it a month love mine
It's so much more valuable to hear from a guy with years of experience. Thx.
My Pleasure!
2 years have passed. Is it still holding up good?
It’s holding up VERY well
Best for BNC connectors?
Unknown, My Friend. I bought it, then it got put into a secondary toolbox. I hardly ever use it.
Great video im a Critical power engineer so require both electrical and mechanical tools and meter's. I noticed that you dont use the velocity bag as a backpack. Any reason why?
Home Depot Canada has it for $300.00 sorry too pricey!!!
As @PrimeToolbox mentioned, I too went with Japanese. I run the Tsunoda KBN-150 Cable Tie Cutter. They have a nice area to pull the zip tie and do a perfect fluch cuts. As always, ymmv.
@@gentleimpact3580 You mean these? 🤓🤓 th-cam.com/video/tGHxADd1eLc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7KyRJ-B6Grr-Uqyl
@@scottstoolthoughts3190 🤣 you got me there. 😉
@@gentleimpact3580 🤓🤓👍
I wouldnt want auto off. What if it takes forever to find a wire and it shuts off when youre still hunting? No thanks. I have a fox and hound that changes tone when the leads are shorted. Its ok but you can just do the same thing with the tempo, just listen for cut out tone instead of changed tone.
@@Henry_Jones Only the Wand has the auto off feature.
Looking forward to see how it performs. 😃👍
@@ScoutCrafter Me Too!
I have had the same problem with klien. Tried exchanging multiple pair and they were all like that
Hello Scott! Excellent review as always. Imagine if Klein Koats came in Yellow, Blue, Green, Orange…. 😂👍
@@ScoutCrafter thank you sir! I would absolutely love that if the Klein Koats came in all those colors!
Interesting, the Japanese brand 3.Peaks have some pliers with this feature, but they are more targeted to electronics working.
@@PrimeToolbox Good to know!
Thanks for the helpful review.
Excellent review! Thanks for sharing!!!!
@@johnagen3688 My Pleasure!
Yep, something is wrong with their knife heat treatment Definitely not victorinox My Leatherman micra blade had decidedly noticeable edge damage after cutting cardboard, and one plastic camshell If it can't handle plastic camshell then ... Suffice to say I don't carry LM anymore
I like veto but velocity is better I do agree.
There deffo Metallica fans. The snake logo from the black album and “don’t tread on me” is a track from the black album !
@@ryandavies5014 No Dawg. That’s the Gadsden flag. It predates Metallica by about 200 years.
How has it held up over the last two years? Is it sturdy enough to bust off whatever you need to bust off?
Can’t find this bag anywhere for purchase.
Reach out to Velocity. They’ll quote you a shipping cost
@@scottstoolthoughts3190 Emailed them, said they don't ship to US
How’s this bag holding up, because I can’t find it on their website for purchase so I’m wondering if they had issues with it
@@TheCherokeeKidd I’ve had zero issues with it. It is holding up extremely well, loaded down heavily with tools.
@@scottstoolthoughts3190 that’s good to know I’m just curious why it’s been taken off the market, cause I want one now after watching your video. Got a veto now and would like to upgrade to that service bag.
@@TheCherokeeKidd velocityprogear.com/products/rogue-9-0-service-bag
@@scottstoolthoughts3190 I appreciate that but when I click the link is takes me to their webpage and gives me a 404 page not found error message
Can you use this for formwork i do alot prying
No idea, My Friend. I’m not a carpenter in any way. I just bought it to support the charity on the handle. It is a very stout hammer with a hickory handle.
@scottstoolthoughts3190 I was wondering cuz I'm trying to replace my martinez m1 that got stolen at work
See if you'res still works I pulled mine out of the truck hot truck and it didn't come on the switch was definitely off I changed the battery I checked the power to the switch inside the unit seems like the IC chip that regulates the power may be gone but I didn't do any further checking are these susceptible to heat
Mine is fully functional
What was the green thing with your electrical tape?
It’s called “Tadpole Tape Cutter”
I just tend to use a small terminal driver like yourself. Just something else to charge
Will it help the old ladder Let’s see
No. Once they “bloom” , you have to sand them down and coat them.
