I find the initial comparison absurd. You cannot compare people who play ina team sport with chess, where the single "genius" always shines. There have been many football player who have been lauded as generational talents whose teams rarely won, not really a possibility in chess.

What I see is 4 games with Magnus playing white three times against Hans. Winning one, and drawing two. Hans won his one game as white vs Magnus. Magnus did better in the tournament, but if we only judge Magnus' and Hans' matches as a duel, Hans clearly won in my regards, taking into account the advantage of playing white. As a Norwegian, part of me will always root for Magnus, despite him being a grown ass baby. Except when playing vs Hans, because of what Magnus and the rest of the community did to Hans when all of this drama was started. Started by baby Magnus, that is...
