Our story begins in the early ’80s when our Founder, Michael Lerner was inspired to pursue a business opportunity in safety signs for car windows after a nerve-wracking trip driving his 18-month old nephew home. Today, our company which he named Safety 1st, continues to sell that original “Baby on Board” sign which has since graced millions of parents’ car windows.
More than twenty-five years later, we have a proven track record of putting Safety 1st with mums and dads around the globe. Along the journey, we have created a notable history of “firsts”, creating not only a comprehensive line of childproofing products, but a robust line of juvenile offerings ranging from monitors to strollers.

    Its frustrating to see how effortless it’s shown on the video. I’m an engineer, with the instruction, it took me almost an hour to install two car seats, while the kids are crying in the background. The engineers of these car seats may have missed “engineering design and ergonomics” back in engineering school.

    • @tomkimber9072
      @tomkimber9072 ปีที่แล้ว

      Australian standards seem to be averse to allowing easy to install seats. Having just spent 6 months in the UK with a swiveling rigid isofix seat which made it dead easy to rear face our 3 year old coming back to the Australian seats is a nightmare. I see seats installed incorrectly with seatbelts so often here. The standards here are absurd.

    • @zimonjonez
      @zimonjonez ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tomkimber9072 Agree. And like most Australian safety standards, instead of trying their best to harmonise with the rest of the world, regulators come up with requirements that are not needed in the US/European markets. Being a small market, we are cornered by certain corporations that could afford to comply and then overcharge the Australian. Safety helmets for bicycles and motorcycles are examples.

    • @tomkimber9072
      @tomkimber9072 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zimonjonez Yup, I can't help but notice that Australia seems to have a far more extensive industry of professional child seat fitters than other places. If the installation of a child seat is so complex it needs professional installation then something is wrong imo. It's also generally accepted that rear facing longer is significantly safer, yet the mandatory tether system is hugely obstructive for rear facing older children but out the way when forward facing - it is a massive incentive to forward face younger. But Australian standards are apparently the most stringent in the world?

    My son is 20 months old, 30 lbs and 34 inches tall. He has a lot of room to grow for this seat.๏๏๏>allmy.tips/SafetyCseat?lL ❋ he fits great in it. Its easy to install, and in my experience, I can get it installed super tight so it isn't moving anywhere!! I actually prefer this seat over our graco 4ever, because its not bulky, and doesn't sit up as high, and it installs much more tighter than i can personally get it. I cannot get our grace 4ever to get tight.

    I picked up the convertible booster seat today.. IT HAS ONE MASSIVE FLAW. The buckle release is right near the anchor hook (see 44 seconds). This is fine on wagons and sedans but all but makes the seat useless if you have a dual cab. The anchor points are on the floor so it might be possible to tighten by simply pulling the strap but you'd never get it released. VERY POOR DESIGN! I tried an extension which gets makes the release accessible but it then has too much length to tighten. DO NOT BUY THIS SEAT IF YOU HAVE A DUAL CAB. Seems fine otherwise.

      Yeah, doesn't have to be middle rear seat. Main thing is the correct belt path is followed and the seat is very tightly secured (should have minimal movement when you push and pull on the booster seat).

    my issue is how do you take it out with alr activated which stops you from pulling your seatbelt out to get back over the armrest to retract it. installed easily, almost have to cut it out to remove it which is a waste of money or have to keep taking the car back to dealership who remove the seat to get to mechanisim

    I agree with the comments below that the video is poor. But I also agree with the comments that the printed material does explain it well when you read slowly and really slow down when you're installing. And since getting it installed Ive now re-watched this video and it seems completely fine. I think the problem for me initially is that this install was quite different to the capsule and small harnessed seat I had installed previously. (Click Read more for my install tips) Key Install Points: * see in the video at 1.12. You need to put the top of the seatbelt over the front of the seat so it will always be visible. this threw me a bit. The bottom of the seatbelt goes in front of the armrest. *from here the hardest bit is keeping the seatbelt out at full stretch, while also threading it through the seat with no twists. just go slow, and be prepared to start again from scratch if you slip and let the seatbelt start going back to early. * thread the seatbelt through the gap between armrest and seat, right behind the whole seat so the seatbelt would be between the ChildSeat and the actual seat of your car. * again dont let the seatbelt twist as you're threading it through (you'll wish you had 3 hands) * pop the seatbelt out through the gap between the arm rest and the seat on the other side * split the seatbelt and put either side of the armrest (above and below, 1.27 on the video) and plug in * push down into the seat and slowly remove all slack in the seatbelt. I do this within reason. NOTE: i have the Prime AP, but its essentially the same chair with a different cover.

  • @kateyonge1309
    @kateyonge1309 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    It is unclear how this is supposed to be installed. The information pack that comes with the chair and this video do not match in their instructions. Do you thread the seatbelt between the (front side) of the seat plastic and the seat padding? OR behind the seat plastic and infront of the 'trim' .. confusing.
