Map display* Your welcome for the correct
bro casually used TNT as the victory lines and it's making me anxious.
😅 TNT makes the best red 😆
random thought if you made the piece one pixel smaller on each side would you then be able to not have to go to world high but each row cool be build at the same high with a couple block esbetween?
I thought about making the circles smaller but I was trying to make look true to the real game.
@@posterboymc that is some dedication :)
I love these videos, I am doing the same thing, but in Desmos, and seeing the process for doing these games in Minecraft is awesome!
Impressive! I can't even make a graph in Desmos 😆
Great mod thx
No problem, join the discord and share your map art!
Nice
Crazy how much depth there is to it all! I like the chill music too!
Ehh... 8. Checkers has 12 pieces a side.
Please forgive me I was so tired when I was building this and didn't even realize the whole project.
Awesome build! I wasn't sure how you'd handle win detection logic but after you said "waffle circuit" I instantly knew what you meant. Decoders & encoders are such a powerful component for all sorts of redstone builds, so I feel silly for not thinking of it sooner, haha. And speaking of fireworks I think I just heard some irl while typing this comment, so that's fun.
Glad you liked it! Decoders are quite useful indeed :)
cool, now make chess
Sub around and find out.
WOW! so impressive! you definitely deserve more attention.
Thank you! 😊
Fantastic video - you've earned my sub! I really appreciate how you walk us through your design process. (I try to do something similar in my own videos.) I look forward to seeing what you do next!
It's always a pleasure to hear that my videos are helpful!
You could try ultimate tic tac toe, that is a board made of 9 smaller boards with 9 slots each. When you place a cross in a slot, say the upper left, then the other player has to play his circle in the board that is in the upper left. When you put 3 in a row in a board, that board becomes your symbol (cross or circle) and the player that wins three boards that are in a row wins. I don’t know if I have explained myself, check it online.
Seems interesting... if I get to making this it won't be until I finish the series (13 more videos). Why don't you give it a try? Join the discord and show me your work.
@ I struggle a lot with simple redstone, this would be impossible for me.😅
I believe in you. Don't look at it as a daunting impossible task rather ask yourself "what is my first step?"
Hello there ! First of all, I really want to say that you made a fantastic job on this board game ! (and the two other btw). Now I need to introduce myself, I am an unknow youtunber (this is not my main channel) and I really would like to post this challenge on youtube too ! I think this is a great challenge to grow my redstone skills, but i need your permission.
Can you be specific, what challenge are we talking about?
@@posterboymc well, your entire concepet
I don't understand but the world download should be available so just remember to give credit to others when you borrow ideas.
@ yeah I was just asking if I could post the same videos(and of course crediting you because I would never have crazy ideas like that ) thanks and have a great day !
This is honestly, so underated, just watched this, and went back and watched the previous two, keep up the amazing work, this is just so good n clean, very simple and detailed, can't wait for the next one, gg
Thank you so much! I'm working hard on it.
this is incredibly impressive and this video is very well made.
Thank you so much, that means a lot to me. The next video will be even better!
@@posterboymc this is every comment but your videos do deserve so much more attention. I wholeheartedly believe that the algorithm will eventually realize this.
Is the waterfall circuit slow? Would "wallstone" be faster?
I actually did a test using 4 different methods in the Connect 4 video which showed that all heights updated at the same time on activation and deactivation which is why I chose to use it. I haven't used wallstone in any builds yet but perhaps I should study it more. Thank you for the question.
Pretty cool build, I've never seen it done this way before But bro really tried naming map displays after himself 💀
Thanks @Purplers for checking it out! I call it a poster display yet its still a map art machine 😆
Hi, really like the idea. I want to build this mechanism on the server. Is it possible to build the mechanism in a remote location, and the display for example on the spawn?
The display can be anywhere, however the buttons would need to be relatively close to the game. If you use command blocks then you theoretically make commands that when buttons are pushed then the redstone is activated remotely.
This is a really cool concept of display but imo the wiring could be improved keep at it tho I love to see map art tech
having fun exploring concepts :)
@ I might try to wire this for myseft to use in my own world if that’s alright with you
@ also with a more advanced display this could technically be used with chess as well right just adding the other 4 cardinal directions and we are good
Run with it, that's why I give away world download.
I think traditionally you start with *three* rows for each player (12 pieces), not two? But that should be pretty easy to fix, and I think the rest looks great.
You are correct! Thank you so much.
personally i rate this an 18/15 (you can achieve 18 signal strength by putting 6 unstackables in a hopper and taking a comparator output) to get 6 unstackables in a hopper, take 2 curse books and grindstone them together to stack them (learned this via Squibble's video on unconventional redstone)
I think that overstacked unstackackables bug was fixed, unfortunately. You can do it on an old version and I think it upgrades fine, or probably there are other ways to do it I donʼt know about.
@@danielrhouck im not surprised, redstone dust is capped at 15 power anyways so the only real use is comparator subtraction
@@TheOmegaOof Or compact item sorters with overflow protection but a smaller buffer in the hoppers compared to standard ImpulseSV designs, where the dust signal strength capping at 15 is a necessary part of the design
Thank you for that! Setting the bar for me to achieve more in my next videos!
huge project plus interesting explanation, thank you 🥰
Thank you! I have even more magical Minecraft map art machines in the works.
ok so either this is reupload from a different channel or you deserve a lot more subscribers!
100% Original Video
you are gonna blow up
Thanks! You're an OG.
Great vid:) I am excited for this series, and I shared this video
Thanks for sharing!! Every little bit helps.
ayo wtf why do you have only 200 subs this video is madness
things are about to get wild...
29:32 bruh those 2 pixels rip
i thought this would be one of those million views redstone videos. super underated, hope this blows up soon
Thank you, I'm trying my best!
Railstone is a real term. Check out inspector talon
Will do, thank you!
You deserve way more subs great video!
Tomato or Tomato same thing
I appreciate that!
isnt it just called a map display xd
let them have their fun :3
Shhhh he doesn't need to know
Poster display is a good name too :P
Grrr
yea
Nice!
Thank you.
i would rate you 4/15 there is plenty of room for improvement and optimization
What do you think can be improved? I'm always looking for feedback.
delicious content
Thank you but please refrain from licking your monitor.
@posterboymc Advice discarded. Just kissed your comment, hope you have a nice day.
I'm amused by the creative name for the torch ROM!
I will never not call it a waffle circuit 😆
Such a beautiful video and only 300 Views
Thank you! Its ok, I'm learning and growing and I think other videos in this series will blow up as I am getting better at building, recording and editing.
its definitely impressive as-is, but there is a lot of missing logic - force taking turns - prevent pieces from jumping onto opposing pieces - prevent pieces from moving into allied pieces - automate capturing (and chain capturing) - prevent men from going backwards - also each player starts with 3 rows of men, not 2 and if i may make suggestions: - you can use liquids to make displays less tall - why not have the 2 halves lean the same direction? that is, if the east half slopes up from west to east, have the west half also slope up from west to east
In my style of checkers, I don't force taking
I thought that too with the missing rules but I think itʼs fair to make players do that themselves; they have to with physical checkers. Computer versions of games donʼt *need* rules enforcement even though I also prefer it. The only real issue there is the missing row of checkers men.
Oh wow, if you could build redstone checkers do all that, that would certainly be impressive! Having the two halves not face the same direction because I think the redstone would overlap and show. If not then I did not think of that for some reason and made things harder on myself :) What do you mean by I can "use liquids to make the display less tall"?
I watched this whole thing and was like "why don't I know this person" then saw the sub count and wow you deserve way more!
Thank you so much!
This is crazy! Cool video, you deserve more attention
I appreciate that!
How does the map updates automatically inside the item frame?
explained in the end section of the video, someone holding the original copy of the map needs to be standing near the machine to update it
that's right :)
@erenblaze se la fai nella survival sei il top
è possibile ma non ho tempo per iniziare una serie di sopravvivenza
id give you a 5/15. It was very creative but watching you do it the way you did felt horrid. Ive worked with map displays and made map games plenty when i was younger and i dont think you could've made this in a less efficient way unless you tried. Credit where credit is due, using a 1:1 ratio map when you had the ability to was smart. I probably would of gone with a 1:2 ratio like i usually do. Im gonna come back to this and make my own version. Half because i want to show you some more effective ways of utilizing map displays and half because watching your attempt left a bad taste in my mouth 😭 Jokes aside, keep up the good work. The map display community needs people like you. subscribed
Post when you make it, i wanna see
I'll keep an eye out for your version! I'm sure I'll learn some things from it.
This is insanity! I love it!
cool red stone
Thank you!
Good video 🎉
Thank you! spread the word.
One red stone trick you didn't test was using a wall block update. when you change the i think the top or the bottom block of a wall block if it set right that whole wall from top to bottom will cause a block update. this can be detected by an observer block
Similar to the way scaffolding works? I wonder what the update time on it is. Perhaps I will test it in another video. Thanks for the nugget of knowledge!
@@posterboymc when the wall is flat and a block is placed on the top of it the wall from the top to the bottom it does a block update. note you will need a wall on both sides to make it flat. i did use this once with a stone generator. when it made a stone above the wall. the observer was able to detect the change. there are very few videos out there on this topic.
The update time is theoretically instantaneous. The moment the wall updates its models, all observers below it on the line also fire. Water columns are instant upwards, and walls are instant downwards
You can also use leaves. They get an update when they touch or stop touching a log, and that update chains to all touching leaves. You can control one log block with a piston
That Was Awesome thank you you gave me some ideas to work with
I'm so glad! I want people to learn redstone otherwise I would just make showcase videos.
Really incredible and high quality video! Definitely earned a sub!
Awesome, thank you! More exciting builds to come!
you should do minecraft in minecraft art!
I will if this is the most liked comment on Friday.
