Thanks Greg, this was a great way of explaining an important concept. Just subscribed- keep up the videos!
Awesome, thank you!
Greg, you're lookin' good, and soundin' even better!
I appreciate that!
I literally just sat down to practice and this popped up.
I just uploaded it minutes ago. That’s funny!
Très bien!
Thanks
Thanks for this ..... especially the 5th string / 6th string concept .... now i realize how that sound happens ! BTW ..... I was wondering why the guitar sounded so good .... typical Seagull .... cerdar top it looks like too . Doesn't look like the S6 ...im guessing it is The Entourage ?
Thank you! It is an S6. It’s about 20 years old now.
@@gregmguitar I don't remember them having white binding on the body . I have the twin brother , the S and P 6 Cedar and Wild cherry. Had wanted the S6 cedar when I was looking for a great used S6 model but stumbled across this one and loved it as much or more. Bought it about 5 months ago or so , and it turned 20 years old this year . . Now I am looking for a used 12 string that is priced right . I find that a lot of average 6 strings have roughly similar sounds and builds. However , looking around at 12 strings they differ quite noticeably not only in sound but quite noticeably in their feel .
Wow. I'm a pro and this was great. Looking forward to getting it down.
Thanks!
I've been working on the boom chicka for Folsom Prison Blues forever - never clued in the chick being the strong accent - I thought it was on the boom - great tip and SOO WEE!!!!
Awesome! I’m glad that helped!
@@gregmguitar I dig your Canuck Seagull there - I got one too!
Nice one, Greg...
Thanks!

Thanks
I learned the major scale with the old-fashioned do ra me 25 years ago, they started us association like, the door bell, as 3ma-1, and so on..
That’s great! Recognizing intervals is great for your ear training.
Great advice, yet again 😊
Thank you!
Odd how YT throws up the most useful lessons. I'm definitely not a singer. And hadn't been, until I really wanted to understand guitar, and play and compose easily, naturally and well. Great lesson, reinforcement and reminder for me. Thanks for it!
Thanks for the compliment!
Good lesson Greg. It’s something we already do, but you put a process to it.🎸
Thanks
Thanks Greg... great lessons, I'm learning!
Awesome! Thanks.
Great vid Greg. Love these little guitar cookie lessons you have. Keep them coming.

You’re welcome!😀
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day also tomorrow is my friends birthday also my birthday ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
Happy birthday!
Nice lesson. I love lessons like this. Something relatively easy to learn and use right away. Thanks.
Glad you liked it!
Good lesson, but you should include 1/8 and 1/4 note stems with your tab. Also rests and any other markings. This should be an essential part of musical understanding for all musicians.
Thank you! I agree proper notation should be understood by all musicians. The tabs I create using my computer have all the proper notation, but I find if I use them on the white board most of the time it’s to crowded and messy to read. Thanks for the suggestion.
What a fun lick!! Thanks for sharing. I really appreciate the relatively short and succinct lessons.
You’re welcome and thank you!
Really nice lesson! Thanks 🙏 What guitar is this? Looks and sounds fantastic 🎸🎸
Thanks! It's a telecaster.
This was way too cool. Merci.
Glad you liked it!

@@gregmguitar definitely man! I enjoy that you keep it simple an give us something good! I'm trying hard to create my own album an learning more guitar alone the way! ILl be tuning it! I try to post videos on yt of my practice an progress to keep me on track! Rock on!!
That’s awesome. I like doing little bite size lessons that are useful in songs!
Please make a tutorial on this one…
Sounds good. Might have to be a two part lesson.👍

I love the sound of your guitar. Can you explain what pedals/amp settings you have?
Thank you! In this lesson I’m just playing through a Dream ‘65 pedal. It emulates the Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp that I use on most gigs. It’s set fairly clean and I’m using the reverb on the pedal and that it. I plugged into an old Peavey Studio 50 amp set totally clean with no reverb just to amplify the sound of my guitar and the pedal. I use the Dream ‘65 pedal at home and on smaller gigs(through the board)so I can get the sound I like without having it get to loud. It’s also nice to go to smaller gigs with just my guitar and my pedal board without bring my amp. (One less trip to the car and less lifting). I hope that’s the info you’re looking for! 👍
I love your lessons so much! You have taught me so many things that actually stick in my memory-reluctant mind. Thank you for all the work you put in! 🎉❤
Glad you like them!👍
Thanks a lot.
👍
Sooo cool! Love your style and your versatility. I'm a fan!✌
Thanks so much!!
I like it a lot. Question though, are you taking liberties with the ending? I'm having a hard time hearing how that plays off the melody. Specifically the walk down after the D6 chord to the G.
Yes, for the last C chord to the G chord just the 8th fret on the 2nd string is the melody. The other notes and descending G triads are just tag or ending.
@@gregmguitar Ok, gotcha. Thanks! I really like this and it's easy to transpose to other keys!
Thanks.
I just uploaded my attempt at this to my channel. I changed a couple little things to suit me. I gave you credit in the description @@gregmguitar
Sounded great. I love the sound of your reverb.
