What would be recommended for a size L on Marlin 7?
Depends on your height... for me, at 5'10 I would use a 150mm on a medium bike... but I'd probably only use a 125mm on a large.
@ hey thanks for replying! Im 6’0 so basically would be the same as yours.
good job.
Thanks... now I gotta work on bouldering.
Well done!!! Looked solid
Thanks... I had plenty of practice on all but the last 2 moves... my forearms are usually shot by that point.
go duane
I'm a going!!!
My baby Bella. Miss you already 💖
She had to go out and run... she misses her mom!😘
Adorable 🎉
I think purple wheel stickers would look amazing, love the build
🤔 I think you're right!!! I might just have to get me some purple decals!!!
Parabéns cunhado vc sabe como se faz.

SOOOOOO CUUUTTTTTEEE 😁😁😁
Yeah.... the problem is: she knows it.😆
I’m building a custom DJ and I was wondering if this frame could also work as a DJ frame. Does anyone have any thoughts? I’ve been having trouble finding some good frames.
I've used the bike at jump park... it does pretty well... basically, the bike performs better than I do! My jump skills are not the best, but I would say I do better with this bike and my Nukeproof Scout hardtail than my full suspension bikes when I hit the skills areas. I'm not sure how it compares to a DJ bike... I've never ridden one... but without knowing how DJs ride, I'd say these frames are great on jumps. I hope this helps.
I love your bike man 🔥
Thanks 👍 I appreciate you watching!
This brought a huge smile to my face
I'm glad.... this little pup ALWAYS brings a smile to my face! It's nice to be able to pass the smiles on... Sometimes I think that's the main reason dogs exist.
What width on the tires? Looking at this frame and hoping it will fit my 2.6 Trail Boss tires.
I put a 2.4 Continental Argotal on the back, and it's pretty perfect... it looks like it could accommodate a 2.5, and MAYBE even a 2.6, depending on the tread of the tire... but that wheel would need to be perfectly true with a 2.6... any wobble whatsoever, and it would be rubbing that rear triangle. I think it's possible... but it would be tight!
@@DuanegerZone thanks for the info. I love the frame I think it's a good deal but I definitely need to use 2.6 tires. Probably gonna pull the trigger on a Meta HT.
@motojaymo6653 Niiiiiiice!!! I was going to go for a Meta before I got my Nukeproof Scout... I've heard nothing but great things about Commencals. I bet you'll love it! I do like the wider tires myself, but I really think 2.6 on the Norton might be pushing it a little.
Agreed! Yeah I really like the look of their bikes and the Commencal website has a refurbished section of demo bikes and frames that come with full factory warranty at a discount. Win! win!
@@motojaymo6653 Whaaaaat!? I never saw a refurbished section... and with a warranty.... damn, it might be time for another hardtail!!!😆
It can really depend on the gym. I’ve climbed lots of v5’s in gyms in Oregon and Washington and can’t even start most v4’s in Arizona.
I agree... I was climbing practically all the V4's with ease at this gym called City Rock... then I switched to my current gym and I'm struggling... V5's seem so distant at the moment.... but I'll make it happen.
in my experience, the two largest gaps and most common grade differences that lead to plateaus are the 4-5 and 6-7 ranges. if you can climb a v7 for example, a v8 in your style is doable, but just because you climb v4, a v5 in your style might still take some projecting. Consider pushing your power and explosive strength instead of just training endurance on longer routes if you’re looking to improve your bouldering wuicker
Thanks for the tips... it's amazing, the difference between route climbing and bouldering... I really thought my improvements in route climbing would translate to improvements in bouldering... but that hasn't been the case... it's crazy how different the skillset is between the two disciplines.
Would the frame work with 29 inch wheels?
Yes... you could use a 29er wheel... but I think max width would be about 2.1"... i had the same question when I got the frame, and I was planning on building it up as a 29er... however , when I saw the max tire width would be 2.1" i decided to go for the 27.5.
Never inject from the lever ! Hi pressure will damage the valve !
How the proper and easy to bleed?
@@METEORA_47 th-cam.com/video/k91lB1zMhfk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=43EJElXvqA7WV5aP
You're 100% right... I've been taking the plunger part out of the lever syringe the last couple bleeds I've done. Thank you for mentioning the correct way @katalinkata3557. I'm definitely not a mechanic... as I say in my videos, I'm just some buffoon who likes to work on bikes.
Do you know there is a rock arch just off trail on Rimwood DH? It's pretty cool. I love Rimwood!
I had no idea there was a rock arch over there... thanks for the heads up. I need to explore more over there.
Oh ship! LOL.
😆 yeah... I was joking with my friends that you could get drunk if you watched my biking videos and took and drink every time I said "sh!t" or "nice"!

I dont know if you have ever watched "Breaking Bad" but your voice sounds similar to Mike. When I watch your videos and your off camera I feel like he is the one giving bike breakdowns and info HAHAHAHA. I really enjoy your videos though.
🤣 I love Breaking Bad... and Better Call Saul.... I never noticed a similarity... but then again, I don't usually listen to myself speaking (much like most people who know me😉). I'm glad you enjoy the videos and thank you for watching!

Try recording in 0.5x camera zoom it makes it look faster and more engaging
Thanks for the tip... I'll have to check out the Zoom options on my DJI.
Vc é show cunhado 😮😮
😆essa e uma trilha muito facile.
por que la cambio ? esa maza spank es trasnformable a varias medidas de eje ?
It is a Boost hub... only for 148mm rear triangle spacing. I changed it because I wanted more points of engagement. It's a much more responsive hub... it feels like immediate engagement... great for when you have to back pedal, then accelerate forward again.
1:05 what freehub you use?sick sound dude 🤘
Believe it or not, it's a generic JGBike hub.... I posted a short that shows the hub (it's the last one in the vid): th-cam.com/users/shorts5Z4njWD371A?si=UJ0wRKxmMIZ5OqxO I love the sound of this hub... and I bought it with the front hub, as a pair, for $78!
youre doing way better than me lol. I still cant manual.
I'm still far from being impressive... in fact, I've been in the climbing gym more than on my bike lately... I need the day to be at least 36 hours ( And work only three hours a day) to accomplish everything I want! 😆
Awesome and very informative vid! Never built just bought wheels. I run i30 for my 2.35 and i35 for my 2.6. Definitely made it look easier than most folks!! Just wondering why you didn’t lube last two groups of spokes? 🤔 btw ever used berd spokes? Keep the good vids coming! 👍🏻
Thank you for watching... I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I edited out the part where I lubed the last two groups of spokes (on the last set, you may notice that the spokes magically appear in my hand from the bench in front of me... due to my brilliant editing😂)... I tried to fit everything in the video, but it was getting pretty long, and there were certain repetitive things that I cut (or sped up with fast motion). In retrospect, I probably should have at least done a voice-over while I was threading the spokes just reminding to lube the spokes. I'm glad I made it look fairly easy... Because the first time I ever tried it, I was intimidated... I guess it's like most things, and it's easier the more times you try it. As far as Berd spokes, I've never tried them. They're pretty expensive, and I usually have to stay within a budget (I'll be honest...I buy supercheap spokes). Although, I have been thinking about buying a few of them each paycheck I get, until I can build 2 full wheels... That way I don't feel the purchase as much (🤔 Or... maybe I should just stop buying a whole bunch of useless crap, and spend my money on quality spokes). Because I have heard great things about them, and would love to try them!

Amei esta trilha com vcs meus 3 amores ❤❤❤❤
How do you know that no bubbles inside ?
Once you push the syringe back and forth a couple of times, you'll see less and less bubbles.... when there are no more bubbles going into the syringe during the transfer, you've got them all out, and you can close the system.
The trail actually starts further back on the trail where you jumped in. There's a sign.
Ok, thank you for the heads up 👍... the sign used to be at the bottom of the hill where I put the "Black Sheep" title in the video... but that was when they first built it (guess it was extended)... I thought the sign was just down, because there were a couple of signs on the ground this time (I figured just due to the poor condition of the trail). I'll have to hit the extended part of the trail after trail repairs (I thought I was gonna break my neck on the rutted out sections).
Send it for Carl Brothers💯❤️💪🌲🍁🌲happy trails out there
Happy Trails to you as well 🚵👍
Did you have to press the headset bearings in or they just sit in the frame on their own?
I think they really should just fit in... but I couldn't get my bearings in to save my life... so I did use a headset bearing press. Not sure if that will be the case with every bike, though... really, they just needed a little bit of help to get in, and I wanted to get them in evenly... so if anyone else runs into this issue, a headset press would come in handy.
@@DuanegerZone dang, I hope mine just drop in if I get one, don’t have a press
@lukas-a9234 I really think it should... it might feel tight, but you should be able to get it in... as soon as I felt resistance, I just decided to make use of my bearing press... but I probably could have done without.
That looks more double black Diamond
It felt like a double black diamond!!! It's definitely a more difficult trail... but it was made worse by the trail conditions after a lot of rain... hopefully, it will be fixed soon... COSMBA has a website with a "Get Involved" section... nothing yet for Black Sheep though.
Looks so fun my man! Can’t wait to get out there Thanks for the content
It's a real cool ride... nothing technical really, and of course there's a bit of a climb to get to the top... but pretty flowy when you get up there. I would definitely recommend checking out the views while you're up top.
Nice Riding brotha! Keep the content coming.
Thanks man!!! I appreciate the support... and thank you for watching!🤙
@@DuanegerZone how long have you been riding ?
I started riding 7 years ago, when I turned 40... really wish I started when I was younger, but I lived in Orlando, Florida all my life.... not much good mountain biking down there 😆 but I'm making up for it now!
Gnarly bit of riding. So different to the riding I have at home, thanks for sharing
Thanks James! Just checked out your channel.... Great stuff! I've been to England a couple of times, but never rode there... looks like you got some good stuff over there as well! I just subbed... if I ever go to the South Wales area, I'll be sure to study up on your channel!
@@DuanegerZone Appreciate the kind words!
Yeah, I had exactly the same idea a couple of years ago, and made very similar mistakes lol, even down to drilling out the cable holders and then finding them things on amazon, gutted, and the paint, don't even get me started! I'm not sure if I spent more money on tools and equipment or incorrect parts! And the amount of time, omg! The whole experience was a rollercoaster of emotions, excitement, frustration, anger, joy, heartache.....In the end though a great sense of achievement. Thanks for the video, I appreciate the effort it took just to do the bike, let alone film it and upload it as well.👍
I'm glad I'm not the only one! 😄 I bought about 4 different brake adapters after I cut off the rim brake mounts... Then I discovered that my only option was to weld... D'OH!!! It's funny, because my idea was to do one of those tranquil bike build videos that are almost relaxing.... but it was an absolute mess from start to finish (hence the 3 year gap from start to finish)... although I gotta admit, I'm happy with the final product.... except for maybe the paint and weld jobs.
@@DuanegerZone Mate yeah, when you broke out that mig welder I just thought, holy shit this guy means business, nothing's gonna stop him from finishing what he started, what a legend! Hope that weld don't fail though, a lot of force goes through disc brakes could be painful🤕
@@TheElbrasso yeah... I'm going to need to put an upright brace in the rear triangle under the brake tab as well... I was just super relieved that I didn't burn down my garage or melt my fingers or something.... those 5 minutes of watching how to weld on TH-cam really paid off, huh?😆
Nice vid. Love my Magura brakes.
Thanks, Mike. Maguras are my favorites... They are just perfect for 1 finger braking.
I live local to this if anyone wants to ride lmk haha love this place
What kind of bike is this? Great job ! You smashed this
It's a 2018 Santa Cruz Tallboy.... pretty much my "go to" bike right now... Next time I come here I think i'm bringing my Nukeproof Scout hardtail... this area seems perfect for a hardtail!
You definitely got some great trails in the area.... and with Monument close by, you've got Mt. Herman trails, which are great!
Minha Bella aventureira...titia ama ❤❤❤
È verdade... ela adora uma aventura.
de que ancho interno es ese aro ? de que medida es el neumatico cual es ?
The rim is a Raceface Arc 30 and has an internal width of 30mm. The tie is a 29er (29 inches) and it is a 2.5 inch width... so 29 x 2.5. Sorry for the delayed response... I didn't see this question till just now.
@@DuanegerZone le quedo bien ese neumatico 29x2.50 en el ancho interno de ese aro race face de 30 mm ? ningun problema ? que neumatico sera bueno maximo para un aro de 30 mm el ancho interno ?

Next time in BV at Midland try, A Fist full of Dollars to Camp Elevation to Crank-n-Hammer and back on to A Fist Full of Dollars to A Few Dollars More and then climb back to the Parking lot on A Fist Full of Dollars. My favorite loop as of late.
Definitely want to hit A Few Dollars More, Camp Elevation and Crank-N-Hammer.... I've got a camping property super close now, that I plan to be staying on quite often. Thanks for the tips on the loop!

Wow is all I could say watching this video. I dream of being somewhere so peaceful and beautiful. Nice video....🫵🏾
I felt the same way riding there... there's a weird combination of beauty and isolation... it was at times a little intimidating, riding out there alone.... but it was so peaceful and awe inspiring. Truly an epic ride! If you ever have the opportunity, it's one worth taking. Thanks for watching!
i liked so much this video man, keep it up, im happy to be able to see contnent creators like you, having fun and doing what makes u happy, greetings
Thank you so much, Arturo. It means a lot when someone let's you know that they enjoyed something that you shared. I really appreciate your support! I do love working on bikes and sharing my experiences.
That’s a pretty cool setup you got there.
Thanks, man... needs a lot of work, but now that I'm camping there, I can get some early morning work in... then head to BV for some good riding.
Any updates on your manuals? Trying to learn myself
I'll be honest, Ryan... I'm still not a professional. That being said, I've improved quite a bit...And by quite a bit, I mean that I went from being able to manual for 1- 2 seconds to being able to manual for 3 - 5 seconds. Which I'm actually thrilled with. I counted to 7 on one manual... but I feel that I rush my count when I'm doing it... so it was probably more like 5 seconds. I wish I would've filmed that one, so I would know for sure... although I must admit that my practice has faltered as of late... once I got to a point, I stopped and moved to something else... I haven't even attempted a manual in a while now... it just left my mind... I need to get back at it... although it's tough to use the garage for practice on the trainer now, because my wife got a new car and insists that the garage is for parking cars... can you believe the nerve? 😆
