I like SU, but Moser collaboration was a kick in the teeth. I spent an hour at work waiting, then watching the stupid video with the three of them padding their egos and drinking champagne and then only to find that the $600 watch isn’t attainable without buying the $60,000 watch. Only someone with a lot of disposable income is going to buy two very similar watches. The salmon watch was ok. But the egg thing?!?! Who thought of that?! I’ve had several opportunities to buy a watch. I have still kept my money in my pocket. Let’s see what comes up next.
I liked this video. However, I think you miss one aspect of watch buying. People don’t buy Rolex because of innovation- they buy them for their history and heritage - the pride that comes with owning a Rolex or a Patek etc. Flexing on your coworkers/neighbors will never really go out of style. Great video!
I do agree that for sure me brands this is definitely the case, Really lex for instance will always be desirable. But there are a lot of brands out there where this is not the case and it is those brands that are most likely to disappear in the future. But I appreciate the sentiment and I am glad you enjoyed the video.
First copy😂
Boring old over done watch
Yes it is a bit boring to be honest.
Agree with everybody, avoid time taking bullsh... great 🫡@@watch-this-official
Great video! I think the issue is that the mic is recording in Stereo. Try setting it to Mono within the video editor you use.
Will definitely give that a go in the next video
great topic, get a better mic will improve view rate exponentially. nothing fancy maybe those 60-80$ one
Thanks for the feedback, I do have decent mics but for some reason they just didn’t work properly on this video. Hopefully the next one will be better.
Audio is much better! Have a great Friday!
Thanks! You too!

It's such a rotten luck that Swatch swatch making such watches
That’s true, but you can pick these up on eBay these days but they can still be expensive.
Longines is an extremely underrated swiss watch brand 🔥
They really are
looks to me like an Invicta Pro Diver with Junghans branding
That is true, but from what I can tell it is from the 90s or 00s. But definitely similar in style.
I've never bought a watch on eBay before but I have bought a ton of them from BOB Shop which is a South African equivalent. I think you got a nice piece! Yes sir! Springbars, batteries, straps. a basic tool kit... They form essential equipment for any watch collector. The blue strap looks good!
I am amazed at the amount of terrible stuff on eBay but it is cool to find a nice watch on there. Agree though on having extra spares is always a good idea.
@@watch-this-official Yeah but its fun to sift out the neat stuff that's hidden in the pile of junk!
Who did it? How to get in touch to have some dials painted? Thanks
I am not sure, all I know is it was done by a company in Germany. It was for sale in a vintage watch shop in Amsterdam. Sorry can’t be more specific.
Overall looks great. I never understood why cyclops became popular TBH, to me always looks like a cheap after-market addition from an end user rather than a carefully designed feature (because if it was you would just make the number bigger on the dial).
I fully agree, I might change it out for a new crystal at some point. But it is definitely not a feature that is my favourite either. Thanks for the nice comment though.
Nice result :) Where did you buy all components ?
Everything was from AliExpress, there are thousands of different combinations of parts and for €100-€150 you can build almost any kind of watch. But it is a little hit and miss on the quality. I wouldn’t always go for the cheaper prices on parts. If you are interested I would definitely recommend it.
fake
Not a fake, it is hand painted dial. But yes not a factory dial.
You are an absolute natural at this! You make this look so easy!
Looks can be deceiving, it took me hours to do it and I ran into a few problems along the way. But I am happy how it turned out. 😀
@@watch-this-official It looks fantastic so good job man!
Looks superb man! Well done!
Love the result! Great job 🙌🏻
Unsure why they wouldn’t opt for a Sellita SW-215-1?
Probably the cost, this is an inexpensive watch at about €350 and a Miyota movement is way cheaper than a Sellita one. But the should have gone for a dedicated manual wind movement or just left it as an automatic. Maybe the new diver will be better.
Very few brands can match Longines with heritage and innovation! Thank you for sharing man!
I didn’t know a lot of this until I went to the museum, it definitely has made me more interested in Longines. Glad you enjoyed it.
Going add afew Studio Underdog watches to my watch collection there fun, class, modern mixed with modern design must have in any watch collection
Fully agree, they are great fun watches.
Very pretty!
longines the watchmaker?
Yes the watchmaker, it is one of their quartz movements used in the system.
The freedom of many was bought by the blood of the brave.
I am also of that certain age. When I was a kid we had the FHM and Tag Heuer puts ads in there. I remembering thinking this was was a successful guy would wear. I guess media in one form or another has shaped perception of brands for as long as I can remember but it certainly is way more intense now. I do have to admit though... I feel less susceptible to it and I am pretty much set in my tastes and styles so I like what I like.
It is all good, I am just turning into a cranky old man I guess 😂
It's the cycle of life man... Eventually we all will! 😄
The biggest point that many are missing is the scale of economy for a small microbrand (that suddenly now has to deal with a global demand, which may not last forever) vs a large corporation like the Swatch Group. I think it's impressive that Richard has managed to keep the demand up for his watches, while also introducing the 03 Series that compete with Tissot PRX Chronograph (but much more fun). Overproducing watches is a risk that larger brands can take as they can sell their old stock to grey market dealers at cost, while continuing to produce new watches. Smaller brands like SU have to take things slow, grow progressively. The Series 01 are still in the catalogue, but now we have the option to spend more and buy a truly high-quality chronograph if wanted. And according to the brand, majority of their buyers are the wealthy collectors. As a business, it's a good move for them to address both the entry and the mid-range market, otherwise they'd be caged in an entry level position. That's great for the buyers, but those buyers don't always return to buy more. It also doesn't help the business grow (which eventually leads to brands making shit watches just to keep the lights on). But I do agree with you that the communication could have been better.
I bought a Mint Choc Chip. And, to be clear, I like it! It is fun and different and...... I would not go back and buy another. It came with a strap so short it barely let me do it up. Yes, my wrists are not the tiniest ever seen, but I have never bought a watch (and I have 30 or so!) with a strap THAT short before! Then the crown: too small. Way way too small - remember this is a manual wind watch, so you need to grip that thing and wind it up. And what worries me is that neither of those things is hugely subjective. If I didn't like the colour or the dial or the finish etc - that is indeed debatable. But strap too short and crown too small? They survey you after purchase. I mentioned these things and their response? They did not agree. So there it remains! Nice looking, but not ever going for a second one. Regardless of how fun it looks.
That sounds like it wasn’t the best experience, for my part I have the Pink Lem0nade and have not an issue. But it is not cool if they have not taken your feedback on board. At the very least a new longer strap should have been sent out o you.
I disagree. He is building the brand, and is improving the quality with every step, in line with notoriety. You don’t know where he wants to go, you make assumptions. Staying dirt cheap forever when producing low numbers is not a path to success. He can’t ramp up numbers, he’d never be able to compete on price once he gets bigger. So he has to do it on quality and perceived brand value. Sorry you feel left behind, but being liked by a bunch of influencer gate-keepers is not a viable business plan.
That is exactly the opposite to what I said, I totally agree that staying below €1000 is not a recipe for success. I would love to think I could influence anyone, but I doubt SU even know I exist. I don’t feel left behind at all. What I said was that some of the comments I have seen online seem to show that some people feel left behind. I totally agree with you about the need to create more upscale options but the messaging of this is what I feel has been lost in all the noise. But I appreciate your perspective on this.
Hmm… isn’t it just a series 01 with a different movement for 3x the price? Or what am I missing? Also, look at todays CW collab launch at €300 cheaper than the SU. SU need to offer more to justify the price increase, surely. But I do agree that having model availability would help so everyone can access the models they want.
@jamietyoung on the surface it is very like the series 001 and I think that has been an interesting choice. If they had created a new design language for the series 003 I am sure it would have been more obvious why it was more expensive. I agree that CW does look like a far better offering at this new price point in terms of spec and finishing.
It makes sense that SU would introduce more models with a graduation of quality and hence a graduation of price. Series 01: £500, Series 02: £800 and Series 03: £1700. It's a natural progression as they look to increase their average profit per watch. You can't really fault them for that. The Moser & Cie colab is a marketing gimmick, nothing more. Don't let it concern you too much.
I think that is the realisation I have come too.
Totally agree! The brand is doing exciting things but maybe trying to play it too cool when it comes to availability and accessibility - great video thanks!
I dont know about this one. Might be the negative press or it might be the salmon subdial at three but something about it just isn't for me.
That price is wild. I like the creativity of SU but I would not buy one. Doesn't seem like good value at present. I think you have a great point. If they could have offerings at different prices it would be more accessible.
I think it is unfortunate that they are so creative and but they seem to have lost sight of how to message their brand clearly. But appreciate the comment and am glad you enjoyed the video.
@@watch-this-official Perhaps you are right. Maybe their success has made them think its okay to raise their prices but not stock older models... Take care friend!
Absolute classics!
is this real...
From the teasers they both shared today it looks like it’s going to be two watches. One from each brand, I for one was really hoping for an affordable Moser. But we will know more tomorrow.
It does look super cool but it might be hard to read at times.
This is the “best watch “??!😳🙄😲
This is a great field watch for the price, with minor changes it could be almost perfect.
I think the movement choice might have been done to prevent over winding. That being said I think it looks awesome! I agree with you on the paperwork and unboxing. Maybe Russ should have put a note or some merch in there like a sticker to add a personal touch and as a thank you for supporting him. So judging from your experience... Good but has room for improvement.
For sure it is a super watch and I hope for his next release he makes the experience more enjoyable.
@@watch-this-official For sure man. From strength to strength.
That watch looks amazing, even better than some multi million dollar rolexes
It is a pretty cool watch.
Beautiful watch, hoping to get mine soon.
It is my grail watch, I have had it now for about 9 months and I enjoy it every time I wear it. Good luck with your purchase.
Just bought it i actually have it on my wrist right now!! DEFINITELY WORTH IT even though it is bioceramic... (plastic lol) it is amazing
I am a huge lover of the MoonSwatch, I have about 20 Swatch watches so the plastic doesn’t bother me. It has allowed me to try out a Speedy for very little money. I am now considering getting a Speedy at some point, something I was not considering before. Hope you have lots of fun with the new Moonswatch
@watch-this-official my grandfather had a speedy and without a doubt in my mind is the best watch I have EVER held in my life if you aren't accustomed to having high end nit-picking views on watches. The build is fantastic and it is amazing definitely buy if you have the money
The money part is the only obstacle 😂, but yes for sure it is on the list.
@@watch-this-officialliterally if I was rich lol would be my first watch
@Rasberryclart 🤣
Woah... That is fancy!
It’s way too fancy for me, but I did enjoy it for a few minutes. 😜
@@watch-this-official I hear you! Its totally out of character for me too haha!
What a time to be filming! Nice Explorer!
It was definitely by chance but looks cool.😎
Looks kind of tactical! I like it!
It is very cool and angular, it sits super on the wrist. Definitely an interesting watch.
Very clean!
10/258 arrived in the post over the weekend… couldn’t be happier with it… Thanks!!
Little strap monster this!
When Russ said he was going to make something I thought it would be wild and colorful and maybe Seiko-ish. This is classy and restraint and functional! Nothing mad about it! I quite like it!
It is subdued for sure but at the price point is a great field watch. I will wear it for a while before doing a review video. It so far so good.
@@watch-this-official Looking forward to it!
Just got mine, I like it. Good review, thx
@kenster1960 I am really ending my one too, as I said in the video though the unboxing experience was a bit disappointing. But as a mechanical field watch it is probably up there as a great option at the price. Can I you, did you get any notification that it was going to be delivered or did it just show up?
I’ve also been wearing mine for the last two weeks and thoroughly enjoying it, especially when it reminds me it needs winding up. Cheers M-HKS
I have not seen these other than on Russel's channel. They look good!
So far it seems like a great watch.
I love the Freak! Such a cool watch!
It is amazing, but at €28,000 it is way out of my league.😂
@@watch-this-official Yours and mine both bro.
