Right out of the box, our Dyson Gen5Absolute had a significant rattle coming from the carpet cleaning head. Customer service conceded that the part is out of stock with no date for when it will be available (this is a HUGE problem with Dyson), so the unit had to be replaced. Dyson offered to ship us an exchange as soon as UPS received the defective unit. We recorded this conversation. Nevertheless, the next day, after we delivered the defective unit to UPS, customer service informed us that this was untrue. Dyson would not do an immediate exchange, but would ship a new unit only after it received and processed the unit, which would take up to 3 weeks (while Dyson sat on our money and the warranty triggered by our initial purchase continued to run.) In short, Dyson lied. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was assured that supervisor would call me back. No call. Dyson lied again. Even before we bought the unit, we got a bad taste of Dyson’s honesty. Customer service assured us that Dyson would price-match QVC’s sale price. This, too, proved to be untrue. Yet another lie. The vacuum may be great, but beware of Dyson. False assurances and unavailable replacement parts are a REAL problem.

Same problem, same solution. ‘21 JLUR. Such a disappointment not being able to stow the cable and device.

Same issue with my gladiator 2021 Android auto

I’ve cleaned all filters, cleaned everything and put back together still turns on and then off again after 10-15 seconds.

I have given my Dyson a thorough cleaning AND bought a new battery ... still not working. I do have a sledgehammer though ... 😂

I cleaned my V8 filter after watching video and it still pulsates. I replaced the battery, cleaned the filters and still pulsates but when I take the filter on top out it works normal!!!!!! Help, should I replace the filter

Hi, I bought two new filters and charge it and it has three strong blue lines, it runs for about 10 seconds and down to one blue line? What do you think, battery?

Thanks for this helpful video. Just want to share my experience w/ Dyson in case it helps anyone. My battery suddenly started running for 2 minutes max & when I called Dyson, they asked if I had cleaned my filters and ASKED me HOW I clean them. I had not cleaned them with water like you're supposed to and had no idea you could use water. They told me to try that first and if it didn't fix problem, to call back and they would replace battery for free even though my warranty expired the previous month.They sent a link to a video w/ instructions on how to clean both the filters w water & wait 24 hours before putting them back in. I did that and still had same issue. When I called back, I was told the battery was out of stock, yet when I tried to PURCHASE one on their site, it was IN STOCK! So I called back and was very polite and got them to send me a new battery. Oh 1 other thing- All my communications were by chat (not a phone call) and I screenshot the part about sending me a new battery and sent to the 2nd person I communicated with. *****Also, I read in the discussion forum for Best Buy that there's a way to "reset" the battery and many people commented that it worked for them.the comment was upvoted over 2000 times so I'll copy & paste it here: "This trick fixed it perfectly:- Unplug the charger from the wall. Plug it in again. Attach your Dyson and press the trigger (on button) for around 20 seconds (nothing will happen, just keep it pressed). My Dyson worked perfectly again straight away after doing this." It did not work for me though.

did you know you can actually remove the filter bag from the top cover? the top cover is connected to a plastic filler that gives the filter bag shape. Once you remove the top cover, you can see the crap/dirt stuck at the bottom of the plastic filler. you can remove such dirt from it. The filter bag you can clean and squeeze the dirt out from it with water. You will know the bag is clean when you can see the bottom of the bag (if dirt is surrounding the inner bag, it stops the light from penetrating it hence you won't be able to see the bottom of the bag)

Good video. Washed the filter for the first time after having the problems of intermittent running. This first time I didn't realize that the cone builds up debris inside so I learned that submersing it in water wasn't the best approach. I did learn also that the top cap is designed to come off so next time I will take the cap off and first vacuum out the cone and then blow it out with compressed air before I wash it. I am thinking I had the vacuum for three plus years so there was quite a bit of debris in the cone before I started having a problem. I need to make sure I do better maintenance, vacuuming the vacuum. Thanks

tHE FILTER YOU TOOK OUT OF THE TOP OF THE VAC - if you get a blunt knife and pop those 3 slits out around the base you can remove the material part of the filter from the plastic cone underneath " then wash it " it is shocking what is under there actually .BUT it must be completely dry before using it again ( eg: out in the sun for 24 hours or similar )

They need recall on those vacuums for the price it is, I done everything still not working all day job taking it apart start with all cleaning to taking it a part buy batteries n warranties over .....My mother got ripped off spending to much money I buy a $20.00 vac and been working 20 years yes belt got change once in a while filter still runs like a charm

Thank you. I really needed to see a good breakdown of this vacuum. I have been experiencing the start/stop and it has been annoying.

Same issue here, dealer replaced my radio and issue still persists. I hate connecting my cable in the front and not in the center console.

If a product needs this much care...it's not worth the cost. I had mine a short time and it started the pulsing thing. I never recommend it to anyone.
