I am an urban homesteader who will try just about anything. I love gardening and have found a new love for backyard chickens. I find so much joy in sharing my journey towards self-sustainablilty and eating as close to farm to table as we can.

Backyard Chickens - 8 Week Old Chicks: Mistakes & Lessons Learned
As a first time backyard chicken owner, it's an exciting experience but so many things can go wrong. I have nine baby chicks that I have raised since they were a day old. My chickens are eight weeks old now, healthy and thriving. We have a long way to go but I'm here for the ride.

I have wanted to raise backyard chickens for eggs and eventually meat for a while now and it has finally happened! Check out how we set up our brooder and our first day with our chicks.
