Good info!
Thanks!
The bay is great for first ice. Right now Upper Mud lake off 12/18 is popping for huge gills in the "pit"
Both are great areas, it’s truly amazing how that system consistently produces big panfish despite all the pressure it receives! Thanks for watching and good luck the rest of the season! 👊🏻
You can hear the pain in the rod😂😂 nice fish!👍
I love that sound!
Are Bluegill are 7 to 8 pounds each
What?! Is that AZ by chance?
@LBOutdoors0914 grandpa's pond ohio
12 pound bluegill
If you fish Winnebago = Paynes Point fishing club. Guy's are 110%.
I’ve learned lol! Thanks for watching, good luck the rest of the season!
What kind of fishing rods are those with the built in reel and no eyelets
Those are called Pulsator Rods, the line goes through the blank. Very handy for fishing shallow water. I buy mine at Dick Smiths in Delafield, WI. Thanks for watching, and good luck this season!
That a FL8se you running?
Yes sir!
Great vid man, I love chasing big gills.
Thank you! Definitely one of my favorite fish to chase both in open water and through the ice. Good luck the rest of the season!
please please do not eat the fish from Madison lakes!!! PFAS pollution is serious. I'm going thru second round of cancer due to PFAS from Madison exposure!!
So sorry to hear about that! Definitely is unnerving and we follow the WDNR Guidelines when it comes to eating fish from that body of water. Prayers to you for your battle!
How thick was the ice you were on ?. Nice big fish. Thanks
We had probably 6-8 inches. That was the day after we had that warm rain. Should be all good and firmed up now. Thanks for watching!
Bago has had some pretty good perch last couple years
Hopefully that population continues to grow! Not too many inland bodies of water with good perch populations, especially good size perch. Good luck the rest of the season 👊🏻
@LBOutdoors0914 I'm just starting my private water season hoping it's good deep water takes so long to freeze
Ummm! I guess so??
👊🏻
Where did y9u get them
Lake Winnebago 😁. Thank you for watching, good luck the rest of the season!
Another good video!
Thank you! 👊🏻
Not long ago this spot had maybe 2 or 3 other guys on a saturday. Now there’s consistently 40+ on any given weekend. Ive also seen about 5 youtube videos in this spot in the last 2 years. Coincidence, i think not.
To be 100% honest, we had never fished here before. We knew this area had good weeds from bass fishing in the fall. Obviously we now know that it is popular. Going back out Saturday to try and find new areas that are “fresh.” Thanks for watching and good luck the rest of the season! 👊🏻
Im going to come drill right next to you the next time you are out and take a bite out of your sandwich at lunchtime 🥪
@LBOutdoors0914, don’t mind the whiners…there are plenty of fish in that system for everyone. The people that complain usually have smaller testicles.
Don’t be so butthurt, you watched the video didn’t you…
Worried about people watching while your making a video for TH-cam. LMFAO 😅😂
Thanks for watching! My concern wasn’t that people would see this “spot” obviously, but if you fish out there, you know that people will not hesitate to jump in 5 feet away if you’re catching fish. I go out of my way to get away from the crowds of people and find my own productive areas which was the premise behind the video….. Don’t just flock to the crowd. Hope you have a successful ice season 👊🏻
Yep, when you fish the bays there is exactly as you say rude people.
Yup, I expect it to an extent, but when they walk right next to you and weave through your spread of tip downs instead of going around that is just really rude. Especially in shallow water where fish are more susceptible to being spooked.
I’m from the fox valley area and also make TH-cam content we should get together and make a video together sometime
Heck yeah, I’d definitely be down for that! I had never fished out there until this day. Going to be doing some more exploring that’s for sure.
LBOutdoors I've fished in your neck of the woods and you all have way more Googans there then up here. Btw don't ever fish Poygan, you'd probably have a nervous breakdown out there.
lol they’re everywhere! Madison Chain gets really bad, if someone sees a fish on the ice they will come drill right next to you and have no shame! This day I filmed I was pissed because that group literally walked right through the middle of our spread when they easily could’ve walked around us.
@@timnationx7482 lmao poygan is 10 times worse
@@LBOutdoors0914MADISON IS TERRIBLE! Had guys this morning literally ask me if they could fish out of my holes…like come on now.
When was this filmed? I didn’t think any ice would make it past last weekend.
This was Christmas Eve I believe. Thanks for watching!
@beautiful fish. You gained a sub!
Nice fish
Thanks 👍
Good job posting the exact spot good fishing eddicate
Can’t tell if this is sarcasm or not lol. But I never posted the exact spot, only “Lake Winnebago.” Regardless, thanks for watching and I hope you have a good ice season 👊🏻
You must be one of the lazy, no ethics people that let others do the work otherwise you wouldn’t expect them to hide
@LBOutdoors0914 you show the exact background of the spot lol
@@ColeMeiselwitz who cares, it's an early ice spot that everyone knows about. Winnebago us huge and there are no secret spots, get over it.
@AllanKunda-mp5xs facts , unless I'm fishing northern wi, anywhere south or central, ill tell location, just like when I go whitefish in SB , volks is biting atm
Asylum bay area?
It's south of there not far
I don’t give out exact locations, but it is the West Shore. No disrespect, I just don’t do that. Best of luck this ice season! 👊🏻
@ballistic350 south asylum bay 😆
What length Pulsator rod were you using in this video. Looks to be the 48 inch?
@kodypeterson7858 looks like it ,I've fished there before many times.. no worries I respect that, I haven't gone out at all, maybe this weekend to Madison triangle easier to catch there lol 😆
Wack em and stack em!!
👊🏻
The 230 people that watched your video ain’t coming to watch it again. You can tell me where you went,it's ok.
does anyone read that your not supposed to eat any fish caught on madion chain lakes
Not sure if that was a statement or question, but here is a great resource on eating fish - publichealthmdc.com/home-environment/fish-advisories. Recommendations for this fishery are up to 1 meal of panfish per week. We definitely do not eat more than 1 meal per month from this fishery. Thanks for watching!
What rod are you using there? Custom or bought?
That’s a Pulsator Rod. I buy mine at Dick Smiths in Delafield. Pretty fun way to catch fish, and you can be a lot more efficient on the ice in shallow water! Thanks for watching!
@@LBOutdoors0914 the smiley barn?
Looks like a good haul, very nice. And looks like your dog had fun too.
Thanks for watching! Definitely a fun day on the ice and Teal absolutely loves to fish!
nice gills AAARRRR !🏴☠️
Thank you!
Nice review! Cool channel too I’ll definitely subscribe
Thank you! I appreciate the support!
What's the dogs name? My dog Boomer and I were out their on Sunday and found many small one's every where but found the bigger ones eventually.
Her name is Teal. She loves fishing lol. This was on Sunday too! Is Boomer by chance a yellow lab looking dog?
Yes, with the red harness vest.
My Dog always wanted to lick the slime off of them
Teal loves to fish, that’s for sure!
Totally agree with you! Don't stop technology. Just manage our resources correctly.
Thank you for watching! Our DNR definitely needs to take a deeper dive into our regs. There are more anglers than ever, and we are getting better at catching fish.
My Ugly Stick absorbs the shock over and over. $40 at Walmart. It seems that it doesn't matter what lure you use because all the Milwaukee video makers use different stuff and pull them in. My wife caught a 24 inch Steelhead on the toy plastic pole we bought for our son when he was 8 years old, with the plastic Zebco reel.
Definitely many different techniques you can use to catch them! And everyone had their preferred equipment as well. Glad you enjoy fishing for them as well! Tight lines - LB.
Any tips for on shore?? In Milwaukee or more south
You can definitely target these fish from shore as well. Most of the marina docks are publicly accessible. I’d cast a variety of crankbaits, mepps spinners, and of course spawn sacs under a float as well. They do seem to congregate in “corners.” As we get into winter more fish will funnel closer to shore and in the marinas. I would also try the summerfest lagoon as well, lots of shore fishing opportunity there. I know Eric Haatja has multiple videos on shore fishing for these fish too. Good luck, and thanks for watching!
@ thank you much!
And btw...your releases are very respectful...love it..always respect the catch as you did!
That you! I have a lot of respect for those things, and they’re just so fun to catch I can’t justify keeping one. And, I’d probably trade a less organized boat for half of Eric’s skills! Dudes a hammer!
Great set up and great video...glad you keep your boat much more organized and clean than Erics! LOL
🤙🏻
Very very nice man! Congrats on the great fish. Awesome looking up also. Is this the Kickapoo river?
Thank you, I appreciate you watching! This was in far SW Wisconsin in Grant County. Lots of good public streams in that area of the state. I use the “Trout Route” app to find streams with public easements and it will also show you what “class” the stream is and if it has had recent habitat work completed on it. Pretty useful tool!
good video 🤜🤛 ipilot would make things easier for you ✌
Thank you for watching! What about the ipilot would make it easier? Genuinely curious.
💪
👊🏻
why dont you keep the browns?
They do not taste very good, even when smoked. But, the steelhead does. Thanks for watching!
Can I kayak out here ?
Yes you can, I see plenty of kayak anglers out there fishing.
try ripping your plug , stop and go , you look like a novince.
Thanks for the tip, definitely not an inexperienced angler, what’s not shown is all the different retrieves, colors, and lures I try on a daily basis to get fish to commit. Always a mystery as to how they want a bait presented day to day. That’s what makes it fun!
He’s edited the video down to the actual takes. Probably tried a lot of other techniques that didn’t work on the day.
I wonder he making a video but never answer the questions ..🤷🏼♂️
Hello @vinhha6073, what is your question?
Gonna need studies on it and statistics, data along with facts on how it effects the population. Most folks against it have never used it, and it's all based on feelings. Show us the data and proof and I'm sure most people will do what is right. Be that voting for a ban or the green light to continue to use it.
I agree! Definitely need to show some science behind making a decision like that.
Good.
“Good” as in it should be banned? If so, why do you support that? I appreciate your input, truly looking to gauge people’s opinions, not be a jerk!
I believe they should ban hooks. Its hurting the fish and killing them.
🤣🤣🤣
Lower the bag limit!!! Thanks for the video!!
Agreed, thank you for watching! Tight lines!
That would totally screw up my catfishing from shore
I imagine you are talking about using panfish for bait?
What's your rod/reel/line choice for throwing jigs?
Really depends on what kind of structure/cover I’m fishing. If I’m fishing weeds and flipping them with the Flippin Jig or Punching jig I’ll throw it on the Trika 7’7” XHVY with 20 or 25 pound flurocarbon. The swim jig I normally fish on a 7’3” Trika Med Hvy with 30 pound braid and the football jig I generally fish on the 7’5” Trika Med Hvy. Thanks for watching!
What a great video, informative, covered a lot , made it easy for a beginner like me. Will watch many more videos you make..
They work great on the Winnebago system! Especially the swim jig!
