Thanks for visiting.
I have uploaded these tracks of my brother Rob Mackenzie on guitar at the request of family and friends wanting to hear him play.
After releasing 2 albums with his group, Mackenzie Theory, in Melbourne in 1973 and '74, Rob left Australia with his guitar and has lived and played in London, France, NY, and for the past 20 years L.A.
Whilst he has not released further solo recordings, he is alive and well, and still playing his Gibson "Les Paul".
The uploaded tracks are simple "first take" home recordings (with myself on drums, and my son who was handed a bass guitar), but all are classics dedicated to a renowned musician or band.
Enjoy :-)

Mackenzie Theory - "Out of the Blue" (excerpt)
มุมมอง 10K16 ปีที่แล้ว
This opening cadenza of track 2, side one of "Out of the Blue" is characteristic of Mackenzie Theory's instrumental guitar rock symphony. Rob Mackenzie was leader of his (former) band Mackenzie Theory, which released 2 live LP records ("Out of the Blue" and "Bon Voyage") in 1973 and 1974, before Rob flew out of Melbourne in 1974 with his guitar bound for London. Since then, Rob has lived and pl...
Yes, that just about covers it. I reckon video photographer is a Paramedic, judging by the company car and hospital visit. Could slow down the videoing as a bit shaky, but probably on a call out.
love Rob's creative playing!
Station Hotel , Mac Theory and weed . Wow , what great times they were .
which station hotel?
We have an original LP up for sale on Discogs. Seller Lennox Groove. This album is epic and so relevant to the psych movement now happening in Australia.

OMG all the seafood caught at Apollo Bay goes to the Sydney Fish Markets! Even the local fish and chip shop cannot buy it! Eating out is over-priced.
I also remember the group they great for the time.
I was at their farewell concert at the Ormond Hall, Prahran. Discovered them too late ! Am glad to have recently found the re-issued CD.

G'day. My laptop has Ubuntu installed on the 2nd half of the hard disc drive (HDD), and Windows XP on the 1st half, so when booting up I select from the boot manager options which HDD partition (Ubuntu or XP) to boot into. I configured my laptop over 4 years ago, but since then virtualisation has really come of age => now I would install Ubuntu, then use Virtual Box to install XP "inside" Ubuntu. This allows you to toggle between the 2 without rebooting :-) Google anything not understood.
I was there too!
The Winner Is Sydney...
I thoroughly enjoyed this video and learning something about your grandfather's life. It is a fitting tribute to his voice and his memory. You mentioned that Webster Booth had recorded the song. I have sent a "video response" of it to you.
