We saw very similar stuff tonight, close to Tokyo. But a lot, at about 20.
Is this a large one or a medium?
Hi, what’s that other easel beside?
They have terrible customer service!! They can’t be bothered to respond to a query I have sent them several times
Planes or choppers, Why would 'UFOs' use our exact same lighting colours lol
More speedpainting than review.
thank you so much this video was useful for me please make more mixing colors videos
What do you use the panels for? Art?
These are for oil painting.
Put a lid on your paint brush vase abs hope got yourself a hell of a nice beanpot there
Can you use it on a table instead of a tripod?
I have not used it as a table top easel as it would likely tip over when pressed from the front.
Its "UAP".
Beautiful work!
Good video. There are also normal airplanes in the video and you can clearly distinguish them because they move on a straight line. It would be interesting to know whether they were commercial or military....if they were military crafts then it means that they were checking on the bright globes
Not sure why you should have to add the back of a canvas to hold your panel. It should have a bottom piece to hold it in place from the bottom.
I agree, this would be a great improvement.
Airplanes
They are taking a pit stop and dropping they're waste on this garbage planet
How thick is the glass palette? Thanks for the review!
It’s about 2.5mm thick and closer to 3.5mm thick on the end strips.
Hi there! How many coats did you use for each mdf board? Also, would clear primer/gesso would go well or white works better?
Hi Shreetama, these panels got two coats and later some got a third coat. Recently I’ve been using small roller brushes to apply gesso - it works like a charm. Clear gesso works okay for earth toned landscapes, though it can dry rough like sandpaper. Sanding it lightly after it dries is one solution. Starting with a white base allows for watercolor-like effects with thinner washes and wiping in highlights is great for under paintings.
@@notan... thank you, this is very helpful.
Is this a variation of the Strada palette or from a separate but similar patent? Just wondering because I've seen many variations or a folding easel palette - unless they're simply design variations. I know there's also a 1997 patent with a side adjustable interlocking slide rail bracket to position adjust the lid up and its base has a screw port hole underneath it. I've also seen it out on the market. I know they go back to the 1950s and originally the19th century - formally known as Pochade boxes.
hi does it fit for iphone 11
Yes!
@@notan... So does garageband also work
@@KadirDGRMNDS Sure does!
@@notan... Thanks!
I seen the same ones last night they are not scared they are very bold, Chicago
How much does it weigh?
It is about 5.8 lb. with side trays. This is not including the weight of your tripod, LED light, or turps can.
Magnificent painting!
Notan! Purchased the Edge Pro Gear in Ebony/black. I purchased a wood, and black glass palette, the brush holder and cellphone holder. In addition, the light completes the ensemble. It's gorgeous! I love the the beauty, and the quality is unsurpassed. Thank you again for sharing. You have inspired me. Now, I'm going to try and sell my new U Go Plein air with extras. It's time to paint!!🥰🎨♥️
Hi Liz, I'm also deciding between the Ugo and Paintbook - are you able to share the differences you have noticed? It sounds like you much prefer the Paintbook! Thanks!
@@zy6747 Hi ZY..The Ugo was fine. I had gone back and forth between the two. I ended up returning the Ugo, and purchased the Edge Pro Gear. It's absolutely beautiful. It's solid, and all of the attachments I purchased completed everything I need. There is a price difference, but well worth the investment. I'd go to both sites. 🥰👍🎨❤🌈
@@lizdouglas1952 Thanks!
No where to put paint tubes or brushes
Just amazing in every respect. First, I love the Pro Gear Paintbook. I just purchased the U Go Plein Air Pochade Box. I received it. Now I have anxiety because the difference was over $200. Think quality. If you're going to paint, this Pro Gear isn't just beautiful, but would last a lifetime with care. Love the fact you can add the light. Notan...your painting is perfect, the music is beautiful, and now I wonder if I should purchase the Pro Gear and try and sell the U Go. I haven't even used it! You are a wonderful inspiration. I stopped painting years ago, and have painters fright. lol Perhaps now with your video, I can start again! Thank you! Sorry for the long comment. 🥰🎨🙏
Thank you Liz, that's very kind of you. I've recently purchased a lighter light (pardon the pun) and have been using it with another easel. Perhaps a review is in order. I'm sure the U Go easel will also do the trick. If you keep it I'd like to hear your thoughts on it!
@@notan... I purchased the Pro Gear in Ebony/black. I've added the wood palette as an extra and XL canvas extenders. I really wanted the light. A bit pricey with everything else. I can sell the U Go with the extras I bought for it or keep as a back up. Thank you so much. 🥰👍🎨🌹
I purchased the light, brush holder, and charcoal pouch. Also, more brushes and canvas panels. I'm in heaven!🥰👍♥️🎨
Liz Douglas Sweet - sounds like you are ready to put some milage on your brushes!
I love my small U Go but want one of these too.
Did those brackets come with the book or are those brackets in the XL? THANK YOU!!! LIZ
Liz Douglas They came with it.

Hey Notan, Can I have permission to re post this clip on my channel - UFO MAN? All credit to you of course and a link to your channel in the summary. I can be reached at: katzzman51@gmail.com anytime. Please attach video title if responding. Cool video. Best Regards - TIM/UFO MAN - 03/31/2020
Sure, no worries. Cool channel by the way!
@@notan... - Thanks....yours too...
is this paintbook is suitable for watercolor too?
I have not used this for watercolor, but I imagine it would work just fine. That said, I am currently developing an improved solution for watercolor and will keep you posted.
@@notan...thank you I just order now. Yes i think i can do it for the watercolor.
Hey man, do you have any more information on your lighting setup? Your canvas and still life seem illuminated well. Outside of the bulbs, i'd be curious to see what your setup looks like
Hey there, sorry for the late reply. The light on my palette is coming from a Panasonic HH-LC733AR LED ceiling light with remote control for adjusting color and brightness. I can't say enough good things about this light. The clip light used on the still life is a bit weak. I think it was a 100 Watt equivalent. Since then I have upgraded to a larger LED. Perhaps I will include it in the next video.
A directional post hold light from home depot is $5.00
It doesn’t look very deep, does the paint have to be wiped off before you close it?
Hi Debora. Yes, you need to clean off paint from the center of the palette before closing it. Closing it with wet paint along the edges of the palette is not a problem.
Hi there, this is a very helpful video. I'm just wondering where did you purchase the MDF panels? Is there a particular website you used like Blick Art Supplies to get the panels? Thanks
Hi Dolores Lyons, MDF or masonite is a common building material. You can pick it up at your local home center or lumber yard. They can usually cut it to whatever size you like.
Is everything done on one single layer?
Rob Stiphout ART, Yes both sketches were done in one layer.
Notan what’s the pint of simplifying values , why would you want to?
@@luisdebayle2239, it depends what your goal is, but it generally makes forms read clearer.
Beautiful. You got skills!
i think they are planes queuing for landing;ooo
Nice art work Notan.
mikel77 Thank you!
You should make lead white.
Could be drones?
Drones wouldn't stay that steady. They would be subject to wind at that height and would be buffeted around
Beautiful painting! What is that handy dandy orange thing you were holding up when painting your ellipse on the glass?
Jenn St James, the orange thing is called a French curve, however an ellipse template would've probably been a more suitable reference tool here. Learn as we go... thank you for your comment!
Amazing work
Wow, Beautiful designs
Notan you done great ,.
Nice job Note bread loafs are rigorous, yours looks boss...do more films you’ve captured our attention
How sturdy are the hinges? I am suprised nobody asked this but how fixed will it stay at any desired angle since i dont see any holding system ? Is it solely based on friction ? Thanks !
Yes, it is held solely by friction. The hinges are really tight. I’ve had no problems with it moving while I paint thus far.
fuckin hell you are like the greatest i've seen......... please do more tutorials...
i am your 100th subscriber!
Have you seen them again?
I saw them two nights in a row, after that I never saw them again.
Notice this guy's sanding it outside in the breeze _and_ wearing a mask. MDF is bound by resin containing formaldehyde, a known carcinogen, so don't inhale it. Always wear a mask whenever sanding MDF.
I’m not sure what this LED thing is in your review.....
Sharon Cullen Art This is the proprietary Edge LED light that will only work with their Paintbook.
