Thanks for the kind words! A couple of nights ago I went over to the KFS SE Kiwi SDR and dialed up 4069.43 and sure enough, exact same signal characteristics I was seeing locally on 8138.85 at the same time. So this is indeed the second harmonic of that beacon. DSL noise tends to raise my noise floor locally which hinders my signal to noise ratio locally and makes it tough to copy the low power 4 MHz beacons.

It is very consistent every night here in Central AZ as well.

These are indeed some crazy squiggles, I too have always found them interesting and wondered just how far they propagate in conditions like this. I am in a rural area that is going though some build out with road construction, housing, new power lines, and there is a well drilling rig in a field down at the end of my road. I have to wonder how many of these may be from near by welders or other local industrial equipment. I have never seen them this strong before.

Excellent idea! I will give that a try and see if they correlate.
