We had trouble understanding high pass. When to use it, and why a header is followed by a high pass.
Hi Pablo. Headers have to follow a high pass or else it would be too easy to avoid the defensive block. You can use the high pass whenever you can use a standard pass. If you refer to the quick guide included in the game box it tells you which moves you can play, and when
Thanks! What we were trying to figure out is what type of pass would you use if you want to switch sides, where the player usually brings it down with his chest, or foot. For example, if I want to go from left back to right back. The standard pass is too short. @@colinwebster469

I just found out about counter attack and its a bummer this game is very underrated!
Q: P1 plays a high pass. P1 and P2 go up for the header. Results in a draw, so goes into a loose ball. Both have players within range of where the ball lands. Who gets to move first and/or claim the ball? I'm sure this isn't as vague as my brain has made it.

I understand this board game is for age 14+. Any change I can play this with my 10.5 year old boy, or is it just too complex?
I’ve played it with 8 year olds using a simplified rule set so it’s definitely possible
I have a question. At minute 12:53 of the video you decide to take a snapshot; but wouldn't it have been better to make a shot and avoid the penalty (-1)? A movement phase had just been carried out. Thanks
Can we use subbuteo players instead of those bottle caps?
use whatever you like! What's important is that you and your opponent can both see who is who...so I always considered Subbuteo players a little tricky to use. But if they work for you, great!

The weirdest thing about this is that I imagined a game exactly like this a few years back, but I was using match attacks cards, I even drew up a pitch, etc, but unfortunately/fortunately I didn't proceed with it looks great and I will be buying it eventually

you can only score with a shot or a header :)
1)When you said movement phase do ypu mean all three turns 4 -5-2 or 1 turn?so as attacker i can move 4 players and after do standar pass and the other move 5 and last turn i move 2 and standar pass again?? Or one standar pass after all moves?? 2) if i dont want move all 4 players i must disable 4 or only the players which i moved?
you cannot break a movement phase with a pass. It wouldn't be fair to the defending team. Only two things stop a movement phase: 1. If you take a snapshot from inside the box 2. If a defender dispossesses you You don't have to move all the players you are allowed to in your turn in a movement phase

Why are 6-sided dice used here but the game comes with 12-sided?
hi! It's a boring answer: because the Tabletopia interface provides 6-sided dice. The 12-sided dice inside the actual game box has number 1-6 printed twice.
@jackjohnxin the publishers haven't done anything wrong. The board game comes with 12-sided dice, but in this video (shot within Tabletopia) we used a 6-sided dice. The chance of rolling a 1-6 is exactly the same because the 12-sided dice has the numbers 1-6 printed twice
Has your rulebook changed since this video? Just been reading the one available via your website, and, for example there's no reference to using the directional dice throw when there's a loose ball situation.
Also, if you have a situation where there are for example 3 outfield players going for a header, as any combination of side representation, do they all roll the dice together to see who wins, or is it 1 versus all of them, but one at a time so to speak?
Hi! In the video there is a reference to a loose ball situation (09:30). It's definitely in the game manual too :)
@@WinOrBinGamingReviews First declare which players will challenge for the header, then roll for each of them. For some players you may not need to roll, depending on the dice roll for the 'best' headerers that come beforehand. But it's important to declare WHO is challenging before you start rolling, because they all miss out on the corresponding movement phase

@@CounterAttackgame agree that it's in your video, but in your manual, it says, in relation to a tackle, as in the video segment you pointed me at: "In the event of a tie, both players re-roll the dice." There is literally no mention in the manual I got off your website about using a dice roll to determine direction. Perhaps when the game box is opened, the rulebook in there will be different?
thanks for the game ! Have 1 question : The rules, page 13 , say : "the ball must not be aimed to land in any hex right next to an opponent". What is the purpose of this limitation ?
Because it seems unfair to place the ball next to an opponent and yet the opponent cannot do anything to intercept

This is a great game and I've really enjoyed both playing the board game and a couple of online matches. I would love to play against a computer and play at my own pace whilst fully learning the rules and gaining more experience and avoiding the possibility of annoying my opponents while my sometimes dodgy internet connection goes down!!

I've got the game but not played it for a while, but this just made me wanna play again! Just quick question, can you nutmeg a player, ie go through the defenders hex?
:) Yes you can. And of course now I realise I should have shown that! When you go to nutmeg an opponent, their tackling attribute is increased by 1. If you are successful, you move through them and they are stunned and cannot move in their movement phase.
@@CounterAttackgame And if the attacker is not successful, does the defender gain the ball, or would you roll for a deflection?
@@GrungefolkBoy2010 the defender would take the ball as if they won a tackle. Play resumes with the defneding team now as the attacking team.
The German translation of the rulebook needs to be updated. It still contains the old rules.

In what situation would GK Diving be used? It’s not really explained clearly in the rulebook when it happens. The best I could guess is that it is used when the shooter places his shot, the gk moves, and if they reach it, it initiates the shooting dice roll.
You mean Saving? The keeper can dive 3 hexes parallel to the goal line. If the shot goes through those 3 hexes then you run through the Shooting vs Saving scenario shown at the start of this video. See 2:36 in this video for a description. If the shot is out of reach of the goalkeeper, then a save is not possible :)
I just received the game and some of the rules seem different. You should update these videos if they have been changed over time!
Love seeing the game being played out at such a fast pace! I've been teaching the game to friends but we've been looking up the rules quite a lot and therefore 45 mins fly by real fast. How often do you pauze the clock while playing the game?
I only pause after a goal so we can reset counters ready for kick off!

Final third rule: all the players have a free move. Attacking team moves first. But at minute 40 only attacker moves. Why?
No defenders were in that final third. So, better wording: Final third rule: Whenever an action ends in one of the final thirds, all players in the opposite final third can move up to 6 hexes. Attacking team moves first.
