    Don't put your finger inside reel, if boat catches your DSMB on surface you'll be dragged behind.

    • @BlueHorizonDiving
      @BlueHorizonDiving 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you for your concern. When diving around the finger is not in the reel. Also the reality of this happening is extremely rare. The DSMB is to notify boats of divers below. Having worked in high volume boat traffic areas around the world for over 16 years as a dive instructor and PADI Course Director doing 3 to 5 dives a day, this has never happened once.

    I prefer to use a semi-closed one, i can fill it just like you did, but i also don't have to worry about it collapsing and emptying on the surface, and i can use it as an emergency flotation device if needed! Best of both worlds! I also usually orally inflate it since if i do that deep enough it'll inflate way more on the way up anyways, and since i'm breathing out as much as the SMB is filling up, i don't have to worry about losing my balance. :)

    • @BlueHorizonDiving
      @BlueHorizonDiving 19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Exactly and that works perfectly too. Great to keep your bouyancy and position while inflating. Mark also uses a semi closed one too and inflates his through his exhaust valve of his primary which works well. Holly’s old one was a full closed one which had to be orally inflated and worked so well.

    Great seeing young people down enjoying some bottom time and respecting the reefs. I'd offer one correction, the plane was sunk in 1979 (I was there), not 2009, though the narrator may have been referring to hurricane activity. There is a reference to the airplane as a dive attraction in the September 2008 issue of Sport Diver Magazine. We ran out of time during the lift stage so the bosses decided to tow and moor it overnight in Cockburn Harbor. Watching a good sized airplane bobbing around in the bay over sunset cocktails was one of the most surreal sights of my life.

      It is always good to wash all your gear after a days diving to get the salt off it and to keep it clean. For DSMB, washing it and letting it dry will stop it going mouldy.

      Get a good fitting Mask. Go to a store instead of buying online. Put the mask on your face without the strap on. Pull in air through your nose and let go. If the Mask stays snugly on your face and does not fall down it fits. Also dont pull the strap to tight when you are diving. It will crease the edges and let water in.
