Again Chris Farley was never a great actor. He just went “through” the lines and added his coked out personality. It’s not acting.

Chris’s Shrek was actually pretty good but in a different way. I still prefer Mike’s Scottish accent. His voice IS Shrek.

I like Chris, he was funny and had very memorable roles but he was 100% a physical actor, Mike is an amazing actor that can do any type of acting. However Mike is the best with voice acting. It sucks that Mike got the role do to Chris passing away but voice acting wasn't Chris's strong suit.

Nothing again Chris Farley, but seriously his voice did not fit the movie at all. I mean just hearing the voice he was doing just sounded so off. I’m so happy they went with Mikes Scottish type accent. Works so much better

So cool to hear the comparison. But really, there is no comparison. The Scottish voice acting with the more relaxed delivery fits perfectly with all of Shrek’s lines. Something about Farley’s acting just doesn’t sound right for the character

Do not compare Mike Myers to that fat dead tumor. Oh wow you ate your feelings despite being luckier than sin to be where you were? Wow good job Chris.

In the end, the filmmakers made the right choice with the casting. However, part of it was through tragic circumstances since the film was made not long after Chris had died, so he couldn’t take the part. Chris definitely held his own and it’s a shame he didn’t get to see how far his career would go post SNL pratfalls. I can feel the emotion in his voice. This would’ve been a completely different movie

I think Mike is waaaayyy better to be honest. Way more emotion and realistic sounding.

In the last scene, Chris Farley has a more understanding and genuine response with the "I know" whilst the Myers one is more brushing it off as if he doesn't mean it or want to talk about it. Pretty subtle but cool change.

Couldnt we replace the missing dialog with AI now? Someone contact Universal, we deserve the alternate version.
