I love this video and I think it is so close. With the acknowledgement of the warthog at the start. It doesnt seem like you hulk over it though. This game repeatedly makes you feel small. Thats the pointof it.

I think part of Reach is, yes it was my first Halo game. I was able to go back and play 3 and ODST and then the first 2. But I go back and play Reach today and forget about all the story I skipped over. Wait so Noble team didnt know what was about to happen they thought it was insurgents? Really getting into the story as it is told makes the story being told even better than I remember it. It to me is a game that isnt just Oh nostalgia holds it up. But rather its even better than i remember it being.

why is it no one talks about how the most tec savvy of any spartan seen is failed so completely by tec. not once have I seen this pointed out in a video about reach

What version of reach are you playing. I play the original one made for the 360 on disc and there’s a lot of details that are different

What reach does is a thing many games won’t, it shows that even people as great as the Spartans can die just like any regular soldier Jorge dies, thinking he Made a noble sacrifice, just for it to become meaningless moments later Kat dies, with no special sacrificial moment or anything, just a quick shot to the head, with no time for anyone to even realize until it’s already happened Carter dies, knowing that he’s gone as far as he could as noble teams leader, just hoping his sacrifice was enough to get 6 and Emile to the pillar of autumn Emile dies, getting attacked from behind, with no way to know if what he’s done was ever actually meaningful And 6 dies, just the way he was told he wouldn’t live anymore, a lone wolf, with no backup, no comms with anyone, it’s just him and en endless wave of covenant No matter how many times you reply the game, no matter how many you kill, or how much you destroy, the ending remains the same, with everyone on noble team dying, and reach being glassed, you can’t stop it, and reach makes you KNOW you can’t stop it

Late comment. I remember when me and my friends played co-op campaign on Halo: Reach. We shared the emotions we felt playing this game and we were kids. I remember when we all watched each member of Noble Team make their sacrifice or die in unexpected ways. However, when Kat died and we saw the nuclear aftermath. All I know is that our only question was what do we do? And then the only thing that came to our heads was keep playing.

I know Noble Team’s lines, know the cutscenes, the mission layouts. All of it by heart, and so does my little brother. I even tear up still when watching Noble go down. This game will always have a special place in my heart.

Noble 6 has and will always be cooler to me than Master Chief and while the chief has a good story Noble 6 has such a compelling story
