    • @ravensfan777
      @ravensfan777 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @AleksRuzik - I guess it depends on what you mean. Look at the casualty numbers. The insurgents lost over 50,000 people, at the very minimum. Meanwhile, the US barely lost 2,000 in 20 years. That's what having a huge budget and advanced technology will do. It will limit your own losses and increase the mayhem you unleash on your enemy. The US was never overwhelmed at any point nor did it ever lose a single battle. The war wasn't a military defeat in the slightest. You'd be foolish to keep underestimating the world's largest defense budget and its capabilities.

    • @Zyxxx101
      @Zyxxx101 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ravensfan777 yeah I know. The US was far from militarily defeated, and could've stayed there for 20 years more. But even with all that technology, the Taliban would never have been eradicated. In a broken country full of war and dominated by religion, it was a breeding ground for jihadists. The Afghan Government was weak and had relations with the Taliban, hence why it toppled so quickly. Al Qaeda and ISIS were crippled and have been left as a shadow of their former selves. The Taliban weren't really a threat to the US, not as much as the other factions at least. That's why they didn't face as much of a hammer as the others. The only thing stopping the Taliban was the US, and soon they realised Afghanistan was a lost cause. It was expensive and was never going to become anything but a broken state. Not a military defeat, just a lost cause.

    • @ravensfan777
      @ravensfan777 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Zyxxx101 Yes, you are right, it was a lost cause unfortunately. One of the goals was to train the local Afghans to fight back for their country but they ended up giving up. The war situation was no longer advantageous to the US military and so they withdrew from Afghanistan. Even the withdrawal was poorly handled. But there are people that actually think the insurgents easily defeated the Americans militarily which is delusional when you realize that a lot of them hid in caves and retreated to neighboring countries out of fear. But this original poster says this video is what losing a war looks like which isn't accurate. It actually shows the US dominating the battlefield. However, that's irrelevant and it goes beyond just winning battles. The long-term goals were too ambitious & could never be accomplished realistically. This entire war was doomed to fail eventually. But not due to lack of strength.
