มุมมอง 1.3K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Even with our advanced technology, it is always a challenge to either record or amplify an acoustic guitar. This is one of those videos that I made for myself, but thought I’d share with you. It’s quick, dirty and non professional, but briefly compares three modes of acoustic amplification: 1. Rode NT1000 Mic 2. Taylor ES/2 Expression System 3. Schertler AG6 sound hole pickup with S-MIC-M micro...
Rickenbacker Toaster Pickups as compared to JBE R300 Rickenbacker Replacements
มุมมอง 11K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Hi All - I made this for my reference, but I thought some of you would might interested in the difference between original stock Rickenbacker Toaster pickups and the JBE (Barden) direct replacements. The video is quick and dirty and not [professional. Also the intonation is off on the guitar as I removed the bridge during the swap out. But again, this is just a rough reference for anyone lookin...
Joe Barden (JBE) Modern Telecaster Pickups vs Fender Custom Josephina's in a Masterbuilt Thinline
มุมมอง 22K6 ปีที่แล้ว
(Also see addendum below) In a Thinline Tele, the Fender Custom Shop (hand wound by Jospehina) pickups sounded too thin an airy and just didn't cut through the band mix at all. So we compered them to and installed a set of Joe Barden Modern Telecaster pickups with a hot bridge. Punchy, midrange and hotter output tells the story. It's not that the Josephina's were bad, but they just weren't maki...

Here is a quick and simple video comparison of three delicious koa guitars: A Taylor K26ce, K28ce and a Collings OM-41k. Three different styles are used to compare the three in succession. It's really comparing apples and oranges as they are three different body styles from two different manufacturers, but it will give you an idea and may be a helpful tool in shopping. I know what I think about...

Here is a quick and non professional demo of an amazingly beautiful guitar with that perfect vintage tone. Sadly, there was low end *clipping throughout the short video, but. hope you will get an idea just how great this guitar sounds - thanks for watching and God bless!! (Note: When I compressed the video down into an Mp4, the clipping got even worse. Sorry)

Some people just cannot shut up
You are SO RIGHT! I talked way too much in that one - sorry
I loved those Kinmans! Of all the readily-available sets, they’re my favorite. Of course there’s no denying the beauty of the original ’56s. Bardens are also beautiful, but very different from traditional Tele. Thanks for sharing this video!!
Thanks much for listening! Yes, the '56 was simply a magical guitar that lived up to the "vintage hype." You have a great ear for tone!
Thank you, this was an outstanding video! Subscribed. { : {) } > 👍🏻
Thanks so much!
Hm, guess I’m not a fan of the real vintage stuff
I’m sad that I’ll never have a real ‘56 like that one, but my ‘51 custom shop nocasters will have to do! - still sound great. 😎🎶
So now the big question: what’s out there that sounds like the ‘56! That’s what I want mine to sound like.
Kinman to me sounds just wrong, the mids are so sucked out. Don’t think you would sit in any mix. The puck attach is stupid loud as well, just sounded like all the wrong EQ to me. The original to me sounded best. The beast was a surprise, the twisted neck really sounds great. The middle as well. And thank for clean tone and great chops.
Those Kinman pickups get the thumbs up from me.
i get why that's your go-to guitar. cool demo, thank you.
Original 56 ones to my ear is miles better than the rest.
Great demo fella. 😊
Kinsman pickups rules them all 👐🙌, J.Barden are good but disappointed me with the neck one on last, and the original fender ones were the top too so my opinion is 1 Kinsman 2 J.B 3 Fender original 🙌
Cela sonne vraiment plastique. Franchement c’est une guitare qui n’a aucune âme. Chère pour un son très très moyen.
my ears are telling me... nobody in the audience will ever notice any difference between those pickups... a tele is a tele.. I use 40$ Wilkinson Alnico 5 pickups, and it sounds absolutely like a tele should. no need for "better" pickups..
The larger the band , the MORE pickups and its tone is critical. The bedroom not so much.
Just use a EQ pedal ..
Haha yes I totally agree.
I wish they would play contemporary music instead of this crap he’s playing
what makes on lighter then the other? cause my tele weighs a ton !
The Adam Clayton looks gorgeous, however I prefer the tone of the custom shop precision. It is also funny to see that they costed $1900 and $2800 (respectively).. Now they cost a lot more (double the price)
I’m happy I grabbed a Clayton purple precision before the prices went up. A precision bass with a jazz neck has always been a dream bass. I know they made some like custom shops. But it’s fairly rare to find a USA or standard model precision bass with the slimmer jazz neck profile.
No doubt about it. Guitar #1 definitely sounds great. Guitar #4 sounds pretty darn good to, I'm a telicaster player my self and that 56 is the best one of all. Great video to bye the way.👍
for me Kinman's are the winner
Try a PRS Vela Semi-hollow. You'll love it!
The original is the cleanest sounding and retains all the highs. The Barden set comes close to the original bridge and the Barden neck pickup sounds better than any on my studio momitors. Great comparison! Thank you! I've been a recording engineer for 45 years and I can't tell anything about tone run through low wattage amps that automatically break up or run through distortion boxes. I like to hear only the pickups please. Best shootout there!!
Kinman pickups have a more "orchestral" sound
The beast was my favourite.
The original 56 bridge by a mile, but the joe barden neck was good.
Black heavy relic Custom Shop sounds the best
Great comparisons of the Tele esp the neck pick up. Great to hear against an OG Tele too!! Perfectly done.
Good demo. I agree on demoing pickups with clean tone. It’s pointless to demo guitar pickups with distortion. Good job.
Josephina's are sooooo sweet
Out of all the Relic telecasters I think the black with the black Pickguard look the best
12 fret all the way!
Seriously one of the best T5z demo reviews on TH-cam, pretty sure I've seen them all. Man you rip those Travis licks, great stuff!
Thank you
When you do a comparison/review or whatever, play something you master pls. If it´s only strumming a chord, well then that`s is what you should do. DON`T play tunes when you lack the SWING/rythmic feel, just makes you sound awfull, and takes away the listeners focus from the gear. Sorry to sound soo harsh and cynic, but it´s the harsh truth and it is meant well Sir.
Barden’s were very even, not what I look for, may as well put a P90 in if you want to stray that far
What strings an gage
same
Well, I am usually totaly anti vintage guy, but vintage tele sounds the best here.
Would u sell it ?
Can't compare the tone of two type of pickups as performed on this video. Once you see a Telecaster Fender guitar, your imagination should hear a sound of its unique sound that been playing more than half of century. Thicker sound doesn't mean we can have a better sound. I would install JBE pickups on other guitar body instead. The JBE pickups on this Telecaster can not handle any type of country music or some type of other music style if we consider seriously .
well thats depressing cos the real vintage one sounded the best to me, typical!
Are these all alnico pickups?
very beautifull....
Thanks for watching!!
I like the Bardens best.😊 thanx for this, man!!!!
You are very welcome and thanks for listening... Bardens are all I use now
J-45 or the D-45 for me.
Thats beautiful,,,my fav guitar along with this one ....th-cam.com/video/zd8jBZjM8F4/w-d-xo.html
Why is the audio so crackly?
Hi Jim, the audio sounds really clear here
Great Demo and Awesome playing!
Thank you! I very much appreciate that!
The bardens are the ticket now I am sold.
Thanks for listening!
Were the pots changed out for the Bardens? If not, of course they would sound darker.
No, the pots were not changed - you are right
Great to hear hear a video not drowning in overdrive. Much more informative, many thanks. 56 just shades it, but surprised at how close the Kinman gets. All great sounding pickups in their own right.
Thanks for listening... I get frustrated with demos that make all guitars sound the same - all the best
