This is for DS roms as stated in the video. Emerald is GBA, completely different method. While Twilight does support GBA games, this tutorial was specific for DS games. I will send a written tutorial for GBA 😄

Are the games also in German?

The games are not in German but you can always choose that language when starting up the game I believe. I have no idea about finding German games but that written out tutorial works the same for the ones you already have The title is in the “titles” section of FBI when clicking on SD PKSM misc is when you press I believe the Y button or X button and it’ll say “MISC.” If your settings are in German I don’t know what the other name for it is but it’s basically the settings

Yes actually, so head into PKSM, locate a pokemon and press A and select edit; Then on the bottom screen top right corner, there will be a hex box with numbers, click that to reveal the hex mode. From there scroll through all the numbers until you see “Ability on the bottom screen while scrolling through the numbers. You can change the number in which changes the Pokémon’s ability and it will tell you what ability it is on screen as you go through

For example: in Gen 6, the hex for the abilities selection is on the 2nd row and the 5th over

What generation are you attempting the move for? Cause the move has to be available for the Pokémon depending on the game

An egg move is usually reliant on a move that is only available from breeding or past gens. So add clear smog as one of its moves (maybe move 1) and then in the relearn move section at the bottom, add the move in the relearn area Then check its legality and it will tell you where it wants you to add the relearn move, also check and make sure the origin on where the Pokémon’s met location is specifically bred with its breeding locations

Yes, it’ll overwrite the slots that it says at the bottom, so let’s say you wanted to inject a Manaphy event in slot 16 but then you also wanted shaymin, you’d have to change the slot unless it changed already for you per event. Cause it’ll overwrite if it’s the same slot

@MikasaMods but let's say i want to get 2 of the shiny Lunala events, will they be viable/legitimate?

Yes as all events have the same ID for everyone and same data. As long as you don’t edit things in it it can’t have such as let’s say Shiny Lunala Event but it has the move Dark void that you add to it, then it wouldn’t be legal or usable. As long as PKSM says “legal” since it reads game data, the game reads it as legit, Pokemon home and online services will always read it as legit.

Go to your PKSM settings and turn off backup saves

Go on PKSM and edit a Pokemon, go to the “held item” and locate or search for shiny charm. You can then take it off the Pokemon in the game and it works the same. You can also use the scripts option in PKSM and “complete National Dex” is an option and then you can talk to the professor and they’ll give it to you normally

Dokkan logged me out an entire year ago and magically my data was gone due to a Facebook link error, I have a new hatred for them now. And legends is dry and the festival was garbage. Sparking zero also is falling off so I’m a sad dbz fan rn 😭

There’s an option in the events tab that specifies and asks if you’d like to enable the game language to match the event Pokémon language. Set that to off and your game would go back to normal. You’d have to inject an English event first and allow it to change the game language back to English first before making the change. You can also try going into “scripts” and searching for the save language option and change it to English that way I believe, if you can’t find it on the first scripts page then press Y for the 2nd page

No that’s not how that works, it’ll turn from legit legal to just legal, game still treats all legal Pokemon as legit so it’ll always be marked as legit through each game and Pokemon home. You would be able to bring over any genned pokemon or edited Pokemon as long as it’s still marked legal by PKSM. PKSM is a copy of your save internal data, so if PKSM reads it as legal (legit), then so does your game Pretty much the only person that will ever know it’s no longer fully legit because you edited it using a program is you. I have an entire shiny dex for each game and each switch game that I made 1 by 1 for and I use them online.

@MikasaMods Yeah, I was playing around with it since I learned it had a feature that told you if it was legal or not. It seams to be a mixed bag. My first ever Pokemon Samurrott was able to be turned into a shiny and have their nature changed while still remaining legal. Wi-Fi event Pokemon cant, my Victini that I caught legitimately from that liberty island event says, "Invalid: Static Encounter shiny mismatch", my legitimately caught Purrloin says, "Invalid: Encounter Type PID mismatch", while one of my two deerlings can be turned shiny and still be legal. Edit: The Pokemon I WANT to make into a shiny will be Reshiram. I'm re-playing through the whole game and thought it would be cool to shiny hunt...until I learned that Nintendo locked it. I'm guessing that because of this lock, I won't be able to make my Reshiram legal through pksm if I make it a shiny. Guess shiny locking is why my Victini cant be a legal shiny as well?

By getting bullied as a kid for not knowing how to mod consoles or use programs by the toxic side of the Genning and modding community- so spent 5 years perfecting/analyzing programs and memorizing every pokemon in every game and what are its best abilities, move combinations, stat spreads, item importance, and its best usage for single battles, double battles and triple battles. As an adult, it helped me learn a lot for the future pkmn games so I don’t even need to research a pokemon anymore to know what would be a perfect set on one. I can also just know how to handle programs that are more complex and I’ve modded many consoles for other people now like Wiis, GameCubes , Switch’s, can’t wait for whatever console comes out from Nintendo so I can get a handle on that lol

@johnblick7981 haha, I’m 24 atm and I still probably have tons to learn. If you ever decide to mod a console- start with 3DS first as it’s the easiest- then move on to Wii and Wii U. Playing games for free and saving thousands of dollars on games is fulfilling lol

Well this tutorial is for making legal Pokemon, so anything you do that’s illegal like add moves- items or attempting to add Pokemon into a game it doesn’t belong such as a Mega Diancie in Pokemon Y or a Zamazenta in Past Gen games will mess your game up. Make Pokemon and add items that are legitimate

When you add your save, did you open the virtual console menu afterwards and click 3DS/DS and find the game associated with the save? I believe you open the virtual console menu by pressing X or Y on the PKSM menu.

I actually got my account like stuck and it’s been over a year now. There was like a glitch that keeps you signed out of dokkan and having a “Facebook invalid ID error” and they never fixed it. Dragonball legends I kinda took a break from since 3 weeks ago cause the amount of lag switchers and PvP hackers is insane.

@ ahh shit sad to hear on the Dokkan part especially since 10 year coming up but yea I gave up on legends to, too much of, u do the maximum stuff and u get the bare minimum of it

Exactly, the no lives lag switching or playing passive and just staying in the back baiting perfect vanishes to only win by time ups with damage calculations while doing absolutely nothing but baiting is so garbage. Then they bring out units and then that unit gets a counter unit made like a week later so is now completely useless and not usable

@Paul-zh1wl I wrote the byte for you in terms of the ability contrary. There isn’t a hex number list for abilities since every gen is a little different unfortunately. I just had to unfortunately memorize them all. I’ve tried searching up a list but haven’t found anyone willing to type that all out I suppose.

They just have you scroll through every everything in the hex editor and edit things manually

Usually means you aren’t using the save file Did you save the game: open PKSM Go to the misc menu and open the “extra saves tab” Go to the roms folder nds folder And saves folder and locate the for example Pokémon white.SAV Cause a lot of people didn’t really watch closely and listen closely and instead choose the game file instead of the save

@MikasaMods yeah I've tried all this and more thanks to reddit,but when I finally got it to somewhat load last night it got frozen on backing up save and nothing happens,I'm not sure what's wrong but now I'm back to square 1 and in just says that error again

@MikasaMods after some research I think my save file is bigger than it should be for pksm however I don't know how u would fix that but it could also be that the game and save began on an r4 cartridge and I moved them over to my 3ds with a laptop

Make sure you app is updated to the latest version, make sure the files are all up to date and in the correct folders, ensure your console is to the latest update and luma is updated as well. Make sure you DS rom is AP Patched and update twilight if necessary with TWL updater . Lastly be sure you have over 2GB of space leftover on your SD

Which pokemon is it? Be sure the pokemon depending on the generation you’re making it on can be shiny- has anything more than 0 IVs/EVs, has a nature and has the correct gender such as Legendaries that have no gender, and in the correct pokeballs it can be acquired in

Nothing would happen to your game, there is no such thing as getting banned for genning a pokemon, that was just a scare tactic made up by anti cheaters cause they were salty people don’t play “legit”. But gamefreak are fine with people genning. They hate hackers which are the people that would ruin the GTS by putting pkmn that actually crashed people’s game and had racist stuff as a nickname

When you make them, what I suggest is just editing the level to match the amount of badges you have for now So no badges is level 1-10 Pokemon 1 badge is 10-20 and so on

Oh, Heartgold and platinum you need a anti piracy copy. Those games don’t allow just ANY rom. It has to be the anti piracy one

There was an AP patch rom tool you can use for roms to add the patch to it but it was discontinued a while back, if you’re able to find a similar rom patching tool, I suggest using that to fix those games so you won’t get the errors. Also twilight has to be updated by making sure you download the latest file

How do you not have FBI? if you don’t have FBI-Checkpoint and all the necessary Homebrew apps then your console isn’t properly modded and has risk of corruption. Download and install the necessary package for the Homebrew apps

Complete the modding process and install the finalized apps 3ds.hacks.guide/finalizing-setup You need FBI for the basic processes of modding. It installs softwares properly and stores its internal data so nothing gets lost
