STRATHAYRE ➡️ THE DUKES PASS

19 miles long,no small talk & some BETTER than usual music on this truly spectacular route,starting at Strathayre & continuing along through Kilmahog where we make a right turn ,which leads us down towards & onto the Dukes Pass & all pretty much in 1 cut.😎✌️ I'd lost sound on this day & despite this,I couldn't not share this particular section of roads,so hope yous enjoy! 👍

Mega hail showers,so as good a time as any to unbox my new parts & didn't bother filming much of the install ,only the issues i had as besides the spacer problem they were pretty simple,as was the topbox! 🙂👍

Very 1st Wash in my time owning this & I didn't even bother going over it by hand (Usually I use a wash mitt & a couple of different sizes of Vikan soft bristle wash brushes)but my main concern this time of year is to remove the road salt from everywhere & my snow foam does that really well! 👍🙂

@@johndiehardmclean23 Best Fun RD 350 LC was many years ago but was the most fun bike ever. But best for Practicality the NC 750 X. And probably the Honda CG 125 S was worst since back in the day we didn't have any spare cash and had to make do with very cheap bikes but enjoyed every moment of tinkering with it. First of all, I totally agree with you about the too long side stand. I’m on the shorter side myself, and most of the time it can become quite harrowing trying to get the sides stand either up or down. A couple of times I thought I would drop the bike to the right Doing so. Great review.
Hey Mike,Bizarrely enough I've got the same issue with my F850GS, but there's a shorter sidestand BMW can replace it with on the 750! 👍

Awesome. What a great route in perfect riding weather, thanks for taking us along. Rain has stopped play on my June trip to Scotland, hopefully September will be more cooperative. In the meantime, I'll get my regular Scottish fix on this channel.

Nice trail you just showed us. It is a great bike, and I am between the g310gs and the versys 300x, it is a very tough decision since both are amazing bikes

@@johndiehardmclean23 I live in Mexico where Honda do not sell that bike in the country, and import it would really cost too much. And I am 5'7'', so I think that the cb500x would be a but too tall for me.

@@johndiehardmclean23 honestly im not kidding, i checked the radar endlessly, no rain should have been there at that time....and up until recently, it would be dry right up until i uncovered my bike to go out and as soon as i was ready...at least a shower if not downpour. Id put the bike away and it would stop. Definitely felt jinxed 😂😂😂🌧️🌧️🌧️

I had to change my wardrobe choice for the Saturday because I was that wet after this,but so glad it was mostly dry & awesome while we were all out touring! 😎✌️
Normal weather for up there I see 😂👍 Low seat should turn out better for you, turns you into a low down bum. Is it still as comfy, or can you notice the difference in padding John?
Oh it's a great looking seat...But still over a week on & my ass is still a little tender,although clocked up around 450 miles out with the "Camera Crew/Motovloggers" !!! 🤣👍
Well John, I was thinking OK you need to try out your new seat but then I thought " what the hell is he doing going out in that", then you explained your plans. The new mic seems to work despite a new placement and the new helmet seems quiet, still only got the mic on mono though.
My editor chucks the voice in on mono too...i have to change the setting to stereo.
@@ScottishSaorsa Oh the joys of technology and the software to support it. I did an update on my camera just prior to my last ride, it altered my settings to the highest quality. This resulted in shorter recording time thus robbing me of the views I thought I'd captured towards the end of the ride. It also appears my new Insta Ace Pro camera doesn't support an external mic, perhaps it requires their newly released adapter overly priced at £80. I attached my DJI wireless mic receiver to the camera but seem to have captured the wind drowned audio from its built in mics 😤 Fortunately the mic itself has inbuilt recording but I shouldn't have to be relying on that and then theirs the extra editing required.
@@greywolf9292 i had the same issue with a camera allowing external to be added, but did not allow turning off the internal mic at the same time...thus wind noise...and i can remove wind noise, but it thinks my voice is wind noise, his is fine...mine is not 🤔😞 go figure huh 🤯
It's just as well i never managed the ride...or it would have rained for sure! #cursed 😂😂😂 I have a new lid coming...but I'll need to figure out a new mount too, as the old one is not going onto it! Maybe need to try a chin mount one...but haven't decided yet!
Both days were mostly dry & warmish infact,but a shame yous never joined us mate! 🤪👍 New lids are a pain! 🤬🤣👍
Well, that looked like a delightful ride..... or not. I was planning a camping visit this month, but that's what the forecast looks like. Hopefully it will be better in June.

Oh well John at least you were looking on the bright side even although the weather was dull and wet and the skies were grey. It all adds to the atmosphere and it gave us a picture postcard look at some stunning Scottish scenery. I'll name that tune in one at close to thirteen minutes ( no not really ) 😂
