The Most EPIC 19th Century Style (eclecticism, revivalism, Indo-Saracenic)
SPOILER ALERT: In this video I'm presenting Indo-Saracenic style: an eclectic, revivalist architecture from 18th and 19th century inspired by Mughal architecture (such as Taj Mahal), Indian temples, Neo-Classicism and Neo-Gothic. Victoria Terminus is in the main focus. As a little bonus, there's also a brief glossary of Indo-Saracenic architecture (chhatri, chhajja, iwan, jali, mashrabiya, minaret and more). As always there are plenty of hand-drawn technical sketches.

Hej i really liked your video, i have a question because im making a project to school about architecture in poland, could you give me some info and sources???
Lovely A comprehensive and sufficient explanation in a simple yet wonderful and beautiful style... All thanks and gratitude
I suck at everything i do when it comes to drawing and coloring but your art motivates me, i hope to be 20% as good as you someday, i'm studying architecture and i'm amazed with your skill specially now that i struggle to do stuff because you make it look easy.
Drawing, like most skills, simply requires a lot of practice :) . I believe the '10,000-hour rule' applies here quite well.
in another video it was demostrated that keystones are not important
Keystones were important for semicircular arches but were not necessarily required for pointed arches.
❤love your art
Thank you.
I had my doubts about how you would manage to explain drafting of arches in a 6-minute video. But u proved me so wrong! This content is gold. Thanks for this!
I'm super happy to read that!
This is very helpful! I am an architecture student currently assigned to design a church, I have always been fascinated by gothic architecture, so I really wanted to incorporate gothic elements in my church. Luckily, I came across this video, which even comes with beautiful and accurate sketches! , and it helped me a lot in conceptualizing my design. I hope you create more content, a talent, and skill like yours would help a lot of architecture students!
Many thanks! I hope to have more time for creating new videos in the future. By the way, designing a church was my favorite assignment during my studies :)
Fantastic.
This is so good. :D
you're amazing at this, also I'm sorry but I took inspiration and I hand drew these for a project because they are so detailed and I just loved how they looked out of every other columns I got to see (apparently mine were the best out of the whole class so I owe you this one)
I'm super happy to read that! Congrats on your project by the way :)
This is fantastic. Thanks for the great video! Great to find someone with a real background in architecture, but also a great creative artist. I'm working on a computer game, and needed a crash course in architecture. Looking forward to watching the rest of your videos. :)
Thank you! And good luck with your computer game :)

Wonderful
The origin of pointed arches, Iwans and Hemispherical domes lies in the Arsacid Parthian dynasty of Iran, and later the Sasanian Persian dynasty of Iran that succeeded the Parthians made huge improvements to it. Many remaining structures from the Sasanian era are in the Middle East, like the Arch of Ctesiphon (Iwan-e Khosrow), Ardashir Palace, Sarvestan Palace, and Adur Gushnasp Fire Temple.

As a civil engineer, I love when structural principles and architecture merge together
At the time the stone mason was well versed in all these terms.
Please teach me how to sketch too :(
excellent choice of music
The final drawing looks superb. It's amazing work. By the way, I am a big fan of the Gothic world. Keep up the great work.
Hi! I'm really looking forward to your new videos and new drawings!
You didn’t include any stereotomy. This is the kernel for surface development of round forms. Very basic and fetish of my building culture. Curse upon you.
loved your video! also you have a beautifull voice
Thanks!
Great video, thank you!
I learned a lot hahahhaah I have exam abt Gothic architecture tomorrow ahahhaha pray for me
Lovely medieval architecture!
I love ur art! Please make more!
The transept is perpendicular to the nave.
Pinnacles are NOT DECORATIVE elements. They were made as heavy as possible (sometimes with lead) because their weight helps to contain the forces. In gothic architecture everything is about handling the horizontal forces of the main aches with the minimal amount of material. - Pointed arches instead of round => smaller horziontal loads - Extra vertical load of the pinnacles => direction of the load is more vertical => smaller buttreses
Just found out your channel. Amazing content!
