Episode 2 Resurrecting the John Deere 110
Can you run me thru how to get the 3 point to hold position on these things? I have the same setup and can't get it to do anything but full-up and float - which means the plow digs to the center of the earth.
She turns real nice. It’s nice when the old veterans can still come out to do a days work. We have an AC WD but she’s pretty used up and worn out. We could do the work but the parts (if you can get em) would cost more than the whole tractor is worth. I’m glad yours is in good shape. Best wishes. 🤠👍👀✅
Question for you I have a 52 ca and just put a 3 point conversion on it. Is the hydraulics just to lift and uses the implements weight to go down? What setting do you run yours on?( drawbar, hold position, delayed)
Seeet sounding tractor
Sounds very healthy
I don't know who taught you how to plow but you don't know what you're doing
It did a nice job
Hey, a farmers self unloading firewood trailer. Had a case dealer very nearby ( 1mi) that finally got rid of most of the old trade-in spreaders that way. Think yours is the first I've seen working. The other TH-camrs I've seen using one took floor chain out too. Love the old ih
Need weights and chains...it's only a 2500lb tractor without. You can ballast it up to 5000lbs.
nice tractor.i had a c long ago.
Got me a blade like that for my WD. I don't have the extension like yours has. I've updated my WD with the snap coupler hitch compared to the old pin hitch.
The John deere 40 wasn’t the first self propelled combine John deere made, it was designed for the guy going from a pull type to a self propelled but doesn’t have the acreage for a bigger machine
I enjoy your videos but dear lord man where’s the correct arms for that plow?
Definitely something I need. We cannot get that plow to work right with those arms
@@mymichiganfarmlife7180 it would be cheaper to convert the plow than converting the tractor
Yes I agree. It's on my list to figure out over the winter hopefully by next spring it'll be better!
@@mymichiganfarmlife7180 I have dealer manuals on the tractor and the plow. I have 3 ca’s. Extra plows too. So if you have any questions or anything like that just let me know
It would be super helpful to see what the setup should look like. I've got the manual for the tractor but not the plow
I have a 630 john deere
I have a john deere model 30 pull type combine I use
Good Morning hope y'all are doing well hello from Waynesville north Carolina
Congratulations I was gonna guess a corn planter. Not sure why I thought that.
I would love to get a corn planter haha
Hi, are you going to have the rest of putting your wife front on you CA? I'm putting a wide front on my CA and every bit of information I can get would be appreciated
Unfortunately I never ended up making a follow up go that, but I can definitely try to answer any questions you may have! It was definitely a learning experience
Good morning sir. Glad to see you post. Thought you were busy with life, wondered if you had quit TH-cam
Time got away from me but I'm not gone 🤣 will try to keep videos more regular as time allows
That wasn't too much weight on the draw bar? You front wheels stayed on the ground?
Nope not too much at all. Front wheels didn't leave the ground at all
I bet there is a lot of color in the fall at your farm and future home site. That redneck irrigator got the job done. That is a beautiful farm, steers, chickens, a rabbit and i thought i saw a garden near where you bushhogged on another video. Great job.
Those old Allis Chalmers tractors are tough. Love watching them work. Great job on the videos. Thank you
Thank you!
I miss the farm life, thank you for the tour.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the support!
Awesome job, perseverance pays off. I really enjoy watching your videos.
Hi Calvin, just found your channel and found out some useful info! I have a JD 50 that has never had the PTO shield on, after watching the installation of yours and where that flapper goes, I’ll be bolting it on now. Love to hear about that JD combine I caught a glimpse of.
Thats awesome! Glad I was able to help!
I’m from Michigan too, where was this show at? Some nice tractors there.
It's actually a festival at a local church. We try to make it every year!
I hope you get that rain before tomorrow morning.
Thank you! We actually got a good rain storm last night!
GREAT!! We are getting occasional soaking rains however heat evaporating it much too quickly.
Tried to watch but the cheezy music loop drove me away!
I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy it. I do not always have as much time as I would like to pick out music unfortunately. I hope you will try again on the next one!
@@mymichiganfarmlife7180 I came for the sound of the tractor working. Who needs music at all?
I am trying to fix up an Allis Chalmers B. Love seeing the old equipment.
Where are located at in Michigan ?
We are in the grand rapids area!
@@mymichiganfarmlife7180 awesome I’m not to far I live in Eaton rapids
Very cool!
That machine is running pretty nice just coming out of winter hibernation. Did you sharpen the sickle and make repairs over winter.?
Nope all I did was top of the fuel and add a little oil and coolant. It pretty much only gets used to trim the two pastures so it gets pretty light wear and tear.
I never liked trailing bushhogs preferred integral tool in general
Yes I would have preferred a 3 point brush hog, but the allis chalmers I want to mainly use it on does not have 3 point hook up. Should work good enough for what I need
Beautiful Case 311!
lots of red tractors there, mine to is red but its not old like those, its an 87 yanmar 226d.
Nice!
Double thumbs up!! Thanks for taking us along!! 👍👍 🖖✌️
Glad you enjoyed it!
He has one good tractor raking hay lol AC Orange
Thanks!
Just found your channel where abouts are you located I'm from over by Ludington.
I'm in the grand rapids area! Thanks for the comment!
Life is as it is. Thanks for taking the rest of us along for the virtual ride.
For sure! Thanks for the comment!
In regards to your muffler, I found my little Allis B originally would've came with an under hood muffler. So I put one on from Steiners. Works pretty good, but a bit more exhaust coming back at ya. Oh well, it's always something. Really enjoying your channel.
Nice! I've never seen an under the hood one actually on a tractor like that, but I seen them on steiners. And thank you, I'm glad you are enjoying the channel! I appreciate it!
On the Laura Farms channel they use a little phrase. “Bummer Dude”. Still cool to see old iron at work 🚜👍
A bummer indeed! Not to worry it will he back up and running in no time 😎
@@mymichiganfarmlife7180 Thanks for the reply, I am pulling for you sir
I have a 50+ yr old 1020 JD that has not been started in over 2 years. Just went out and tried it , and it fired right up. I was worried about bad gas, but I think I put staybill in it 2 yrs ago . Going to get fresh fuel and hook up the brush hog
Thanks i appreciate the support! And that is awesome! You will have to let me know how that goes!
I just got my grandfather 57 ca and am trying to find info on those front cylinders. They need repacked and I am not able to find anything for them. Would you be able to point me in the right direction. Any advise would be appreciated.
I had trouble with that as well. When I restores this loader I was sure the cylinders would need to be redone. I did some looking online but wasn't able to find a lot. Thankfully my cylinders ended up not leaking. I did talk with some other ca owners who said that the correct seals can be purchased through agco. Hope that helps
@@mymichiganfarmlife7180 I will definitely check them out thank you.
Nice unit. I would invest in some wheel weights they will make a huge difference.
Love seeing the old equipment.
Thanks!
Great video. Other than the snow. Hehe. Sure like the sound of the tractor.
Yes I could definitely do without the snow 🤣 thanks!
I enjoy your TH-cam channel I own a 1952 alli Chambers Tractor CA I can't remember the social number it belong to my grandpa on my father side of the family I was planning to restore it in memory for my grandpa my dad passed away March 20 2021 last year I can remember When I was a kid my dad would ride me on the Alli chambers I remember him telling me a story he was working in the garden he had to Catch me before I fell Because I fell asleep this alli Chambers ca tractor has been in our family for 55 years
Very cool! Sorry to hear of your dad's passing, but it is awesome that you still have the tractor to help hold on to those memories!
What farm show will you be attending? I know there is a nice one at the Ionia Co fair grounds in the summer.
It's not technically a farm show, a local church near us always does a summer festival and they have an antique car and tractor show. Always a fun time!
Thanks for the tour. Just discovered you last week. Here’s wishing you continued growth and success. Btw, what county are you farming? I am a fellow Michigander
Welcome! And thank you! We farm in Eastern Kent County!
My first time to see your channel. What area of MI are you farming ? I grew up on a shiawassee county farm
Welcome! We are in west Michigan in eastern Kent county!
Great plowing. Tractor sound great. But seems awfully hard to start. Hehe. Just kidding. Fuel injection junk nowadays doesn’t start as good as that does.
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Rollers Crack the stems. That windrower is awesome
It is fun for sure!
That engine sounds great! I have a Farmall M, a 100 about the size of yours and a IH 274 diesel. I always heard AC's had strong engines and great governors! Good video...from N.C.
Thanks!
I can assure you that is not the hard way to make hay😂 great video
I suppose it's all relative 🤣 glad you enjoyed it!
