After putting in a brand new Referbished motor from Accurate Engines into my 2001 F150 Lariat, I was 5 minutes from starting it up and noticed a coolant leak coming down from between the block and bell-housing. I purchased a fiberoptic camera an snaked it up to take a look.

    Just cut the thumb off of an old or new leather work glove, wrap it with the cut resistant tape and you are ready to go.

    I've been woodcarving since i was 7 years old (21 years now). Never managed to cut my tumb, even tho i keep my knifes razor sharp. So IF you need a thumbguard to protect your selfe from cutting yourselfe. Then you are werry likely doing somthing wrong.

    Dude!!!! Lower the bit and work on the table. I saw the you were using the edge of the wood as a stop on your sword to control the bevel of the sword edge. You can do the Same thing by attaching a stop to the sword with 2 sided tape. Cool project but you can really get fucked up quick like that.

    I’m just now beginning to get back into wood carving after Boy Scouts. I noticed that no matter how hard I try I can’t seem to get my cuts smooth. It’s all just jittery in a way. I’m a 17 year old boy, so I should be strong enough. Any advice?

    • @ronrotunno522
      @ronrotunno522 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sam, don’t give up. You should look at three things for starters. What type of wood are you attempting to carve? Basswood is the best choice especially if you are just starting out. Secondly, is your knife razor sharp? If you don’t have a strop I suggest you buy or make one (there are plenty of good videos on how to make and use one). Lastly, experiment with your knife on a piece of scrap wood. You’re not trying to carve anything specific just learning how your knife cuts from various directions considering whatever grain is present. Happy carving.

    • @tpobrienjr
      @tpobrienjr 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sam, try some balsa wood. All the cuts work in balsa, and you can build your coordination, then move on to basswood or butternut. Hint: butternut carves easily like basswood, but has a darker grain like walnut.

    Are you still using this router? My old PC is getting tired and the plunge base is out of commission. Seen several reviews of the 618 stating they had problems with the motor bearings going bad after relatively little use but there are far more positive so I am leaning towards this. Also, have you used it with a dust extractor or vacuum connected to the plunge base and if so, does it work well?
