Post Office Play Station // Waldorf and Montessori
มุมมอง 4494 ปีที่แล้ว
Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Waldorf education, believed that dramatic play strengthens a child's power of memory, comprehension, and imagination. However, Dr. Maria Montessori, the founder of the Montessori Theory, discovered that children tend to prefer reality over pretend play. With this Post Office Play Station, I've weaved two educational philosophies together. Let your kids get lost in...
How My Child Was Fully Potty Trained By 18 Months Old // Elimination Communication
มุมมอง 2.9K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I share my potty training experience and how I was able to get my daughter completely out of diapers by 18 months old. Elimination Communication (EC) is a gentle and non-coercive way to potty train an infant from as early as birth. Unlike conventional methods, it doesn’t involve praise, rewards, or punishment. My baby is 9 months and I've been doing e.c since 4 months old The thing is i havent taken him to toilet when he wakes up at night for a feeding And big thing, i don't take him to toilet when we are out of the house whether church, grocery store, or driving a while. What do you recommend for being out of house to have him pee but not dumping pee on grass or wherever you dump pee to collect. He pees about every 30 min on average

    Thanks for this! My daughter is so 'common sense' driven it was hard for me to get out of my own head and way to figure out how to make letter learning fun but now I am flooded with ideas! I think its basically go with the flow, be less formal and structured and go with that works. Cat, bat, mat. Not, "this is the letter A..." LOOOOOOOVVVVE THIS! thank you a ton!

    This was a great video and I will definitely be looking into the sandpaper letters. The only thing I will say is that in Montessori "good job" is discouraged as the child learns to perform a task based on praise and approval rather than being motivated by the effort.

    How can we ask children to identify sound to letter. the children later are not able to identify letters .Would it not be better to tell sound of the letter and the letter as it is.

    • @bellavida7129
      @bellavida7129 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Phonics is far more effective. I have not started teaching my daughter the alphabet at all. I simply use phonics sounds for every letter and at 21 months she can point out phonics sounds. Teaching the alphabet in order is outdated and not only takes longer but is monotonous for many kids

    • @madhvijamwal5370
      @madhvijamwal5370 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to say language evolves and does not get outdated . If sounds are identified with alphabets the children face a problem when they come eith articles number mames . The use of phonics is the blending of sounds where children lern how to say the word correct. We may have difference of oponion . I sure do not believe in aping anyone and see what is best suited to get a child to learn and grow.The point is how many have the vast knowledge of phonics to execute them well.

    No problem with this , although I do wonder why , all mine were potty trained day and night before 18 months old. Just waited till they understood and recognised feelings in the bladder. Just enjoy your baby.

    This is beautiful 😍I want to have a home birth next time. My last delivery wasn't that painful and hard. It was 3hrs of labor at home, peaceful and beautiful, things got tense when I went to the hospital, the environment wasn't good for me😑and I thank God coz I spent less than an hour there😪 Thanks for showing that it's possible to have a peaceful labor experience ❤️

    I found Andrea Olson's videos and they've been so helpful! We started at 10 days old, and catch most of his pees and poops (4 months now). Interested to see how it goes as he becomes mobile. Ec really has helped him be so content and cared for. Thanks for sharing!

      Hi Joy-Mari, there are so many different ways to teach a child how to read. Teaching phonics, rather than having a child memorize sight words, is a wonderful way for them to develop phonemic awareness and literacy. That's amazing that your daughter was able to read by the age of 2. I'm glad you found a method that worked for her!
