So, to try and summarize this briefly, it involves pushing from your diaphragm AND throat singing, as well as manipulating the shape of the mouth+lips+tongue. You'll probably never be as good as the pros, but you can teach yourself how to do it if you're not afraid of being loud.

Great tips for focusrite control, this worked for me in the past with my Clarett+ but I’m having massive trouble routing my gear using the focusrite red software with my red eight pre. Nothing works. I’m so frustrated because I feel like the physical connections are 100% correct and the software is screwing me over in some way I don’t even understand based off either the defaults or the previous owners settings. One thing is I have never used DB 25 to XLR connectors so maybe I’m doing something wrong but I don’t feel confused…like it should be working. Like you say the logic I/O plug-in is not crashing, I get the dry signal, but I can see that the signal is not going through the gear. For example, I have output 3 and 4 from the DB 25 outputs going into the left and right channel (inputs) of a bus compressor… back out the 2 outputs of the compressor into INPUTS 3 and 4 on the DB 25 input. Why doesn’t that work? No signal going through the bus comp or anything else I’ve tried this with. No matter how much I fiddle with the inputs and outputs in the focus right red software absolutely nothing works. I had to jump through some hoops to get the drivers to even work on my M1 Mac, but everything showed up and works fine other than routing the gear. No matter what I do, I get absolutely nothing. Even just trying to track through a preamp nothing shows up in the DAW. Which is even weirder because in that scenario, I can actually see the meters and lights on the preamp/distressor lighting up so obviously it’s receiving the signal. Massive headache for something that seems like it shouldn’t be that hard to me. Does anyone have any tips because right now this thing is a $4000 paperweight lol

Thank you for your review. And thanks for stating the analogue board as source. But you did not state why you said that and I wonder if you know. Because: Imagine you have a guitar connect wirelessly with a U2 to your stage snake which goes to your digital mixer which sends the signal through a digital snake to the FOH and/or the monitor snake on stage then go into your u4 digital in ear you will effectively have at least 4!!! Analogue digital conversions . In an ideal case 4x5ms delays . Poor guitar guy now has 20ms+delay from his guitar playing to his ears and that is the threshold for a human noticeable sound delay. Not to speak of the obvious decolouration of the audio signal through all these conversions I would like someone to do a review onto his 2024 reality to address the Elefant in the room beyond the poor 2,4gHz frequency range channel interference. ;) but still: thanks for the video

I've tried and tried but nothing. 18i8. I can't even see the line inputs in Focusrite Control, just monitors, headphones x2, SPDIF and Loop.

Built our own IEM rig using a Soundcraft UI12 mixer. It has 8 ins, which we use for Kick trigger, snare, guitar x2 (XLR out from line 6 helix), bass (XLR out), and 3x vocals (XLR splitter from the mic, with one XLR to stage box and one to our setup). Myself and our other guitarist share the main out mix as it's stereo, singer uses Aux 1 and drummer uses Aux 2. We bought cheap wireless IEM systems (which work fine, contrary to what snobs say) and our drummer is using a behringer P2. Best thing we've ever done and cost less than £500 in total.
