Going Back into an Office after 3 years I went to my company's office for the first time and it ended up being an entertaining experience. the only job ive ever had that i loved and i thought that i was good at was selling work. I was good at it, and never got caught over doing it for 6 years. Ive had every job from landscaping to being a middle manager at a fortune 500 company clock 6 figs, but i felt like my calling was to be a "good dealer". People would constantly tell me that i was the best dealer theyve ever had. I cant/wont do that anymore though... it killed 3 birds with one stone... I hate taxes, hate the laws on MJJ, and despise the police state we live in. I knocked all three of those birds down from 2009-2015

I’ve found that depending on in office interactions for friendships is a hollow endeavor. People move around the organization and move on to different companies. It’s better to invest social capital in more stable areas outside of work.

This is the most helpful video I've seen on this topic. Focusing on the process is a super helpful and real piece of advice. If you are not in love with the process you will always feel behind and you will always hit a roadblock in motivation. You have to love the process more than the outcome. Deleting social media is also key. Its all fake. And you're right. We all come from different starting positions and that only becomes more apparent the later you get in life. Love this message.

I too feel lonely when working remote. Although I think it's another thing for me then just remote work. I live in a quite remote village, where it's hard to find friends that like the same stuff as me. I literally got no friends. But that is usually ok, I have a family with three kids and a wife. But from time to time I feel really lonely, I sometimes think about starting to stream programming and maybe some old games, just for fun.

I think the perfect balance was my last job. It was remote, office was local, we connected every month or two and just went home after a few hours. I have a new job now, once a week on site which isn't too bad but I always wish I were remote when I am stuck in rush hour or having to stay at the office that day just because. I do have fully remote opportunities, where the office is outside my state... I do get nervous about being remote with no local team. I

This is really rather relatable, I like the way you think. I graduated from High School at 16, I got a Full Time White Collar Job about a Month ago, and I'm now 18. And I have to say, my Years between School and Work I was very independent, driven, and disciplined. Initially this Job was supposed to be Onsite, and I was looking forward to that adventurous aspect of it since I've been Homeschooled all of my life (And never leave the house or get to have friends). But then I realized they would have me working almost fully remote (Welp, more years working in the house). You are definitely right in the way that having this extra time, we don't always spend it as efficiently as we would like to (I have that Inner Capitalist too). I certainly have spent 60% of this time on TH-cam and AI rather inefficiently, when all this time I have had a Movie Project to that I could be working on. As you said, finally having a Job can make you a bit too comfortable, I am definitely experiencing that as well. When you mention the speed of life being really fast the first 17 years, that is also so true, I was in such a rush to study, get certified, and get a Job. But now that I have, it feels like the world just stopped. But you are absolutely right when you say "In the end it comes down to discipline and getting out of our comfort zone to really live". Absolutely. I like how you don't go like "We're doomed", you get down to the common sense solution. Hearing you is just what I needed to reinforce my drive to get back in the fighting spirit. Anyway, really good video, I like you so far, you're a good common sense working man, I might have to subscribe.

My childhood to 20s was the most hellish experience I have ever had in my life. Near death, abuse, depression, anxiety, suicidal, and addiction. It wasn’t the brightest time of my life. I thought I’d probably die during those days, but here I am, still alive. 😂

I’m a young millennial, I personally find that it’s good to learn from another generation’s viewpoints in order to be part of changing the world and our culture, and breaking down old traditions and systems that were set by Boomers and The Silent Generation. Learning from Gen Z does give me another outlook on life where there are infinite ways to live my life, including who and what I choose to be. Life doesn’t come with a manual, we as individuals create and navigate life with the tools and knowledge given to us to use. Therefore, never stop learning and keep growing, keep evolving.

Great video. You mentioned not knowing how much of the loneliness is related to the pandemic vs. post-college life. I'm a bit older than you, and my observation has been that it's mostly the result of the pandemic (and maybe social media, too). My post-college life was much more social and much less lonely than my post-pandemic life today.

My biggest regret in my 20s was hustling for work. It was a total waste of time and I missed out on so much. Time flew by way too fast. It would be a shame to miss out on all that tight 😽 Spend your free time studying then just go have fun. The time studying will pay dividends. And the older that you get, the harder it is to make new friends as people get busy with work and family. The key point is to just have fun.

Im 24 and I feel like the first 4 years of my 20’s was wasted. I would save up 5-10k and it all went poof when stuff came up. It also didn’t help that my income for my job went down over time. I’m super broke and lost in life. I also have a bunch of debt that I’m struggling to pay. My parents were nice enough to let me come back so I can get a certificate to be an electrician. I hope in 2 years I’m starting a career and not a low paying job. I really want to turn it around. Some people in my family are putting pressure on me for career choice and romantic relationships. And other people are telling me it’s ok and I’m still young. I’m gonna only talk about my goals with family members who are positive and encouraging. I will keep you updated if you like this comment. My first goal is to catch up on my credit cards because I’m late on some of them. I’m trying my best. But I think I’m gonna have to try even harder. Thanks for this video.

Ultimately, I truly believe happiness comes from seeing yourself progress on something. Whether it's a instrument, correcting your diet and seeing your body slowly change in the mirror, Solving more difficult code problems, making better games, making music. Just putting in the work and literally seeing yourself incrementally get better. But most of that is because of the daily habits you have to build. Like reading a book for 20 mins a day. Seems small but over a long enough period of time, that's a lot of books!
