The real Deal. Mike Browns 2001 AMA championship bike
one wonders how this got to Germany amazing
it's beautiful thanks
Banned for being too expensive to produce. The other manufacturers didn't want to spend that kind of money to compete, although Honda did experiment with a twin 125CC.
That thing sounds crisp and clean .Would be cool if they twin cylinder 2 strokes today .Sorry 4stroke guys 2 strokes are just better and fun and the big and that 4 stroke guys push back on is that it takes more skill to ride a 2 stroke
Is this the same one from 999lazers channel that he hunted down in 🇮🇹?
I used to ride Mugen Honda
Team red was the best in the business especially with dave thorpe on board what a guy ❤❤
is that in front of the former pub??
A beautiful unicorn. Aren't there only two? One in a museum and the other in private ownership in Italy?
Correct.
Is that his actual bike, or a replica
Wow that sounds and looks lovely
So sad his other bike is in the USA sad
Old man reving cr 500*
It might be a great bike but it's nowhere near as beautiful as those earlier works Honda's from 85 onwards. Those bikes looked like they were from another planet at the time.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I need one of these. Wow!!
Why? Just don't get it with these twin shock conversions. Thst is now an orphan. It has no place in history.
Why ?
Just when you think you've seen it all haha. Well you would know about muddy conditions Dave after the time at SMX when we dragged you four stroke back with an extra ton of mud clogged on it lol
Don't need rear disc 70% is front brake if you don't know how to use front brake your hella slow rider's? The rear drum works perfectly with front disc?
PAUR valve the best 2t
Absolut great
I wish i could smell it sounds gorgeous
Sounds like it takes a while to wind up.
I saw that bike in Luxembourg GP in 89. Hated hondas, would love to get my 90 KX100, rode itfor the acu schoolboy nationals that year, it would be my last year of racing as i started the 91 season in the seniors and wanted to keep it forever as it had slechten exhaust pipe, rebored, kehein carb, lots of other stuff too. I gave up mid 91 and it was abig mistake. I had nothing to do with the sport, i actively avoided it, i only just found out we broke usas record mxdn streak, i met rob herring and paul malin at Worcester offroad motorcycle academy in 86 with Roger Harvey when i was 10.
I appreciate those hondas now especially the 86 or 85 with that fuel tank vacuum pump.
I couldn't believe it when Dave went to kawasaki. Kaos on the Honda team might have pushed him out.
Legend ❤
King Thorpe
it was absolutely more powerful than the others but for motocross and off-roading more low-end torque was needed than maximum power, then the greater weight on the front end meant the bike did not have the hoped-for success and was withdrawn from the races. Shortly after, the single-cylinder Gilera Elmeca 125 appeared and we returned to winning ways
..if you ride a 125, you should always be in the power band, not bogging around at low revs.
So you said those forks did not have the works internals?
Guess it wont
🇦🇷👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪💪💪👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

She's a beauty, looks new.🎉
Wow...🎉🎉🎉🎉
That carbs is way too vertical.
but they worked.
Italy has some beautiful hidden away late 70s 80s dirtbikes ,Puch Cagiva and Family 👪 🤠🤟
I remember that bike so well what a beasts
Wow my Dream Bike, a Perimeter Framed KX500 🤩 I had a '91 KX250 back in the day! I should have put a 500 into it🤔
Ive got a copy of this, runs a dg alloy arm, dg gold head, alloy tank and fox piggybacks, johnny O seat cover. Goes real nice and gets ridden as it should.
Don’t just talk about it, START IT!
They were not banned. They discontinued because they were unreliability low sales
THey were banned. Only Three were actually made. The ban prevented mass production. Only one running example still exists.
That is one gorgeous machine right there thanks for posting
So it’s a 500?
