".Recent & Revisited" - Chirag Bangdel at The Kala Salon
The beloved artist Chirag Bangdel has been a part of theNepali contemporary art scene for many years now. His distinctive paintings with their bold outlines, eclectic subjects and vivid colours have brought much pleasure to many people over the years.
His newest collection at The Kalã Salon may seem initially familiar but their compositions are subtly different from previous years, with more solo figures, some with a deep sense of melancholy, departing from the more celebratory compositions of his past.
As a writer, poet, and a man of many talents with a profound social conscience, Chirag's work is imbued with the weight of all his experiences. He wields the brush with the sureness of his lengthy artistic experience. The paintings glow with gem-like hues and flow with movement, bursting out of their lines.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about the Artist's distinct style is the perfect union of
South Asian content with a striking European, neo-modernist style. The artistic finesse and thoughtfulness inherent in these works ensure their longevity, as many of his admirers will agree.
Chirag Bangdel's pieces, new and old, will remain as examples of unique, memorable works of art.
