มุมมอง 2.8K3 ปีที่แล้ว
I spent most of my life in Fairfax County, close to Washington D.C. Almost every part of NOVA has its own distinct dialect, so I thought I would do one to represent my hometown.

A Tribute to Chris Squire: Time and a Word
มุมมอง 4.7K9 ปีที่แล้ว
Chris Squire was the bassist of Yes. He was an inspiration to so many to pick up the bass and pursue their dreams. I had the opportunity to speak with him on Facebook, and he was a true gentleman. I thought the least I could do was make this loving and respectful tribute to him. Rest in peace, Chris. We miss you dearly.

Classic song by a classic band RIP Tom miss you. 😢❤
As a minority in this country not really into the controversy about the rebel flag and I truly only believe in the one that unites us, but I tell you I love this song. I was born a rebel RIP TP.
Does anyone know the hymn being sung by the choir?
Gonna tell my friends this was John Martson.
😢 Still miss and love him 😔 Rest in Peace Tom Petty ✌️❤️🌼
Legend. Nothing less nothing more. ❤
SO SAD
An unabashed, beautiful, American song! God Bless my Southern brothers! We are all Americans! 👍
Shes so cute. My Balinese never stops talking either. Many different sounds for different things
I just finished the chapter in his autobiography that covers this. Hilarious!
Petal to METAL , I WAS BORN A REBEL.
This is a great song and never gets air play anymore.
This is an absolute amazing preformance!
I used to have one, best cat ever
Rebel flag behind the band , nobody cared . In 2024 they would be run off of the planet . The old days were cool
Been to Many, an Many concerts in my (arguably) well-spent youth. I've seen The Who, The Guess Who, Neil Young, The Rolling Stone, Jimmy Page, Hank Williams Jr., Charlie Daniels, Bob Sieger, AC/DC etc....BY FAR AND AWAY seeing Tom Petty at the Orlando Arena back in the 1980's was the BEST concert I ever saw.
This was one of my favorite shows growing up...
Waylon was only there for Jessi ! She was nominated but didn't win. He didn't want to be there at all . He already refused to perform at 1970 awards when they told him to cut his song short...
I grew up in Wisconsin. My grandfather was a civil servant who helped engineer Milwaukee infrastructure. My mother showed me the monument in Milwaukee for Wisconsin men who fought and died in the Civil War. Over 10,000 men were lost so people could be free. More than 10,000 Wisconsin families sacrificed for freedom against the Confederates. Tom Petty later reflected on this video and the use of the Confederate flag and regretted it. To his credit. I remember seeing a different music video of this song with Union soldiers walkjng through ruins of a building at night. Petty made this song right when patroitic songs like Bruce Springsteen's, John Cougar's, Bob Seger's were all chart toppers. Seger is from Detroit, Cougar from Indiana, And Bruce from New Jersey. Petty was no doubt inspired by those musicians
Fuck the Union
I'm an Aussie, and so love this. But who wouldn't. Forever in our Hearts TP. <3
She sounds just like my little balinese girl Mizuki ❤❤❤
White The Heartbreakers were great, it was really all about Tom!
“Waylon hated award shows…” he probably wouldn’t be there and have been on the edge of his seat with anticipation if that were true. Every artist wants to be acknowledged for their work. Chill the fuck out, hipsters.
Waylon was only there because Jessi had been nominated but didn't win in her category.
As wasI.
Big Hoss. Full of the best cocaine money can buy.
This song is perfect for these two.
Saw Tom in 85 when southern accentswas at reunion arenain Dallas.
Glad this was recorded with the flag...saw him next tour had a different view... nothing wrong with regional pride sorry the anti crowd got to him
Agreed but if his woke daughter Adria sees it she’ll have it removed.
Lil gangsta, she wants destruction
awww
What a fucking great song. What a fucking great artist. Heard this the first time when I was in the Marine Corps. He was taken way too early... Semper Fi.
My favorite Tom tune!! seriously underrated!!🖤
Rich was an amazing talent and a superb example of how to walk in the grace that God has extended to us through his son Jesus Christ. Thinking back on it, riches music was the first time I heard the message of Grace…
You speak Standard American English, for the extreme most part.
I'm in Fairfax county too!
Really enjoyed this. Thank you.
One of my all time favorite songs period.
LORRIE MORGAN didnt shed one tear when Keith Whitley died.. Heartless woman
Love chole she
I remember this well as it was just a few weeks after Lucille Ball had passed away
Yeah, I think that maybe what make the nova accent distinct is 1. Tennis shoes and 2. t and d in the middle of a word usually are more t~ɾ and d~ɾ
by tennis shoes do you mean the way we pronounce it, or the fact that we says tennis shoes instead of sneakers lol. I grew up in Fairfax for 13 years (now I live near richmond) and my dad (born and raised in NOVA, lived there most of his life) always called my sneakers tennis shoes and my backpack a bookbag. Used to drive me insane lmao, although I catch myself saying the same things now. I kinda wonder if I still have a nova accent after 3 years in central va, since when I was younger I though the word "yall" was made up for cowboy movies, and now I hear/say it every day
@@BigLepordy1242 i mean how we say it instead of sneakers. i also say "y'all" all the time.
Hoot Ye Rebels! Hoot Ye Rebels! Stand like Jackson's Stonewall around the Heavenly Walls of Our New Moab in the New World! Angels in America call us to rebel against those who preach and persecute in the name of my brother Lord Christ and our Christian Empire yet do not study the New nor the Old Testament with gentle scholarship and care; nor know the ways of charity and hospitality such as my brother Christ of Nazareth, Bethlehem, and Magdalene commanded us. Hoot Ye Rebels! Hoot Ye Rebels! Stand like a Stone Wall!
My favorite TP song. Glad I heard it live. I believe 1985 Merriweather Post Pavillion in Maryland. 15th row. I believe Georgia Satellites opened up.
Imagine being one of those backup singers....singing a song with the Confederate flag flying. Damn, Tom Petty was great, but that flag hasn't aged well. (Still a killer song)
Sirius TP Radio has silently stopped playing this song in rotation
The best artist in country
She barely says anything, waste of time.
Came here after reading his autobiography. Great book
Yeah. What do you think about Merle and Waylon? Do you believe he really swindled him during that poker game?
Atlanta 1951
I was born a Rebel
Glenn Campbell always had Waylon’s back.
