With heartfelt gratitude to the courageous TH-camrs below... Conforming is easy, and expected. Conformity is glue that binds families and tribes, societies and religions. The pressure to conform is constant, relentless. Resisting conformity takes courage and strength. I lack both, but today I resolve to change. I resolve to become an open and full-throated advocate for the LGBTQ community: fami...

Benjamen Zander - Leadership on Display
มุมมอง 286K12 ปีที่แล้ว
Heavily edited version of Benjamen Zander's 2008 Pop!Tech presentation for use in a university "Leadership" course. With charismatic, subject expert, motivational leadership, Benjamen Zander transforms 15-year-old cellist Nikolai from a nervous and self-conscious student to a 'performer' before our very eyes. Very inspirational video.

    I really wish my piano teacher would have been half as inspirational. Nicolai will never forget this experience for as long as he lives

    I LOVE this man and find him incredibly uplifting and inspiring…that’s why it’s disappointing that in the midst of sharing beauty and light, he chose to disparage an entire continent with a backhanded slight of the conditioning we’ve all been subjec to….that someone from Africa couldn’t possibly understand this music. I’m certain it wasn’t meant to hurt, but I’m also certain it’s not necessary and reflective of this man’s lovely soul.

    And such was "Nikolai" productized, packaged and marketed by "genius" CEO Zander. The fools in the audience applauded and shed tears for Mr Corporate. Look at them ... lol, the more mediocre they are the harder they applaud and the harder they say to themselves "everything is possible" (only not for them and not in this world)

    • @gorankatic40000bc
      @gorankatic40000bc 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @dancroitoru364 accidentally stumbled upon your comment - it's not to be found except when "newest first" is clicked. Zander is the cultural wing of the corporate complex, selling dreams to poor and dumb people. When he appeared in Iraq his host was military. All those who felt what fight for global supremacy is can't be fooled with Zander's stories about US general in Iraq crying over music and showing Ben US constitution. To propagate music is the noble cause. To use music for politics in this manner doesn't differ from any other worldwide agitprop effort, but in this case it's slimier because it's covered not only in moral righteousness but in lecturing moral superiority. I guess this is how classical part of corporate culture of the future would look like. Of all chauvinists and racists the worst are well mannered smiling state connected Anglo-Saxon ones. He can pretend but surface gets opened from time to time to reveal something sinister beneath. One who has no soul, enjoying life at the top interconnected with brutal political power that rejects all morality, appeals to the souls of others. He is a faithful servant of the neverending war effort, hot, cold, open, covert. Yet he's silent about those who he really had to visit while on his foreign excursions. He doesn't care because it wastes precious time when waterfall of banknotes needs attendance.

    How is this good teaching? He's literally trying to make the boy as uncomfortable as possible. The pressure was already unbearable, Zander then tries making the boy fake smile while under pressure in front of a huge crowd? Who is capable of that? Then he places the boy in front of a random guy who we are not sure even enjoys the music, to try and make him feel emotion? I can't even imagine how uncomfortable this boy is at this point. Just because Zander is brilliant does not make him a good teacher, clearly.
