    Engineer here. It would have worked better if you stapled it to/between the rafters instead of where you did. Placing it right against the roof lets heat conduct through the foil, where a small air gap removes conduction, and lets the foil reflect the infrared heat back out the roof. Also pointing an infrared gun at the foil will not give you a reading of the foil. It will give you a reading of the infrared mostly reflected off the foil. Try putting soemthing like a lable on the foil and measure that. Or ust mease something in the room to get its temperature.

      @timkowalski3136 well congrats glad to hear. I agree I didn't go over that very well in the video I apologize. I just put a new stringer video out like a week or so ago and showed exactly how the top is to be cut. Very simple, the first rise you mark at the top just cut that line across the whole board and when the rest of that is cut it will give you what you need. I believe the title for that other video is how to cut stringers with a framing square. Hope this helps and thanks for watching

      @projectdiy873 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @bomark2002 honestly it has been a while since I done the video not sure why the other line was there but it was not meaningful. Anyways to your question mark the last one and then subtract off of the bottom one whatever thickness tread you are going to use. Beacuse if you want a 7 inch rise or step and you leave the bottom the same eight as the rest when you for example put on a 2x8 as you tread now your rise or step is 8 and a half inches. Also check out my other video on how to cut stringers using a framing square I break it down on the top and bottom of them more clearly. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
