Non musicians probabl'y cant even tell the difference. I prefer the alternate picking sound but it takes a long time to build up the dexterity to play fast like this, meanwhile legato is pretty easy. Is it really worth the time and effort to be able to play fast alternate picking runs? For most people the answer is no.

Shredding should be melodic, great exercise and thank you.

Next exercise to do with this, as you are all wasting it by shredding it IN THE NORMAL WAY, shred as fast as that with SWYBRD picking, Then add some extra picking in it (with the new pattern), try and look for extra notes with in the sequence when you hybrid /SWYBRID pick it, many other notes/patterns come alive.

How the fuck are people capable of doing this so clean and accurate? It is physically impossible. I've tried every single thing and constant practice for years but still have zero control and dexterity and that is 100% proof that people are born with it. Some people are born with extra tendons that enable them to move their hands and fingers in in ways that most people will never be able to do and it ain't fair. It's a genetic condition and people like this really are a different breed. Getting better with practice is just a myth. Most peoples fingers are not designed to move like that
