Gosh, unless Esa has visibly lost a step or intensity this year, i don't want him being replaced by anyone. Fanbase takes him for granted because he makes a little money. As for Lundkvist: I do think he could mature into a reliable NHL defenseman, IF he can get his game together as they are expecting. I believe i saw his fancy stats or whatever were pretty good last year. Better than the eye test. Not sure what Pete is perturbed about, could be a personality clash, who knows?

I think Jake Oettinger is one of the best goalies in the NHL, I think he has to be more consistent in his game. I understand the confidence loss after he got injured 🤕 but it seems like his level of performance has been up and down. He hasn’t played at that elite level for quite some time. Granted he was an NHL All Star, I’d like to see him play at a higher level consistently that’s what the top goalies in the NHL do every game. I don’t think he’s a top 5 goalie, in my opinion he’s probably top 10 at the most top 15 at the lower end. The Stars as a team must get over the hump of the Western Conference Final. He’s got the potential to be a top 5 goalie to play at an elite level. A top 5 goalie that comes to my mind is Igor Systerken with the New York Rangers he consistently plays at a high level. He really needs to be that guy this year to prove himself as Goalie 1.

Otter is a head case. The kid could be great, but has periods of the season and playoffs where he wilts. The Stars need him to grow up fast or look elsewhere!!

This is the year he has to prove himself if he wants a good raise in his next contract. I reckon he is going to be great.

He's over earned for most of this contract. No way Dallas signs Benn for more than 2y @ $3MM. He'll get a stupid offer from elsewhere.

Jere Lehtinen was a great two-way forward and was always in good position when making scoring chances with Mike Modano👍🏾 Won the Selke too! For him to play in the league with prime Chris Osgood, Jaromir Jagr, Chris Pronger, Paul Kariya, Teemu Selanne, Sergie Fedorov, Jarome Iginla, Nick Lindstrom, Martin Brodeur, Dominick Hasek, Pavel Bure, Joe Sackic, Alexis Kovalev, Peter Forsberg etc, etc with a kinda good team at that time. Is very difficult

I think you’re spot on about Benn. I want him to get a Cup so bad. He deserves it IMO. Also, Im heading to Vancouver Island next week and will be wearing my Benn t-shirt hoping to get his autograph. A long shot I know but how cool would that be! Keep up the good work Joey.

Maybe a cool episode would be and update on where the last 2-3 years of drafted players and where they are in the farm leagues and what the progression is looking like. Hindsight being 20/20 the 5 man D rotation was the bane to our playoff elimination. Looking back was getting those wins and finishing first worth not playing Neils enough to give the other 5 guys the rest they needed to perform in the 3rd and potentially 4th rounds of playoffs. Plus when the boys get tired you’re throwing a green #6 dman in lunds out there expecting him to hold it down. My only gripe on Pete’s decisions.

As a Canadian, I wish we had access to Victory Plus. I'm stuck with NHL Centre Ice and it's costly and I'm sad I won't be able to hear Josh and Razor unless they're highlights. The real losers for Victory Plus are Stars fans outside the DFW area.

As far as the "Golden Goal" goes, it really was out Miracle on Ice. We reference it as a "remember when". Huge moment for Canada

Ummm.....they weren't the WC Champions lol. They were the #1 seed. Edmonton won the Conference last year remember? But they've been in the WCF 2 straight years and NO.....they won't be going for a third trip. Not with Benn, Seguin and Duchesne still in the mix. Not near enough top end fire power and more importantly the blue line is still a major weakness. They'll make the playoffs but a first or second round exit.

Stars are better on August 1, 2024 then they were in October 2023. Not better than Playoff roster 2024, but I think Lybushkin < Hakanpaa and Dumba < Suter. We're still a defensive piece away from winning again, but that's a trade deadline issue. Give this team a chance! I hated Corey Perry when we signed him and he turned into a great signing that was a fan favourite by the end. Dumba made a stupid play on Pavs but he's our newest Star and let's give him a chance to show us!

The other part people forget about our lack of physicality in the playoffs is that Pete kinda kneecapped his players by basically telling them to avoid being too rough (especially when it came to fighting). Pete needs to be a tad more laxed on that stuff too. Not to say they should be taking stupid penalties, but we can't be pansies on the ice either.

I think lybushkin with miro would be a good pairing. He was with Morgan Reilly during his stint in Toronto. I think he is goin to be a good anchor for Miro and will allow him to fly on the left like he should. Dumba with Harley would be an idea too and would give you a similar pairing to what Lindell and hakanpaa were but more mobile. Lindell rounding out the 3rd pair with either bischel/ petrovic or Smith would be the best move, putting lundkvist back in after the season he had would be a HUGE mistake. IMO Nils should not have signed lundkvist again, should've let him walk.

I think Nill and coach PD are expecting the forwards to pull their weight. To many times the forwards left the D-men hanging. I really like the signing of the 3 D-men. More physicality and will drop the gloves and protect their teammates. Something we haven’t had in years.

Cant wait for October! Stars should be a serious Cup contender again!!

I hope that he can be similar to Tanev. Can he handle the same minutes as Miro?

Who would be the third or for that matter the second line. Would they bring in a seventh man to keep them fresh, Miro excluded.

That’s easy. Robo, Miro, Roope, Otter, the kid, Stank, Harley… plus more. There’s so much upside to our young talent. Let alone the talent we haven’t even tried calling up yet. We should be good as long as we keep this farm train rolling. We’ve got good scouts and management. No reason we can’t be good for a long time to come
