Historically they would have been larger, but I wanted to make a shield that could fit on a single foam mat. But the template can be scaled up to any size :)

You can and they will stick, but adhesion may not be as secure since the plastidip has "sealed" the pores in the foam.

Thanks man! I actually work at a university in the theatre department as their scenic artist. So basically, I'm responsible for making the built set look like the designer's rendering, but sometimes I also get the chance to work on some amazing props! It's actually a dragon head 😆. It's one of 5 different ones used in a show called "She Kills Monsters". It's a DND inspired show and features all kinds of creatures from the DND universe. Definitely my favorite show I've worked on to date.

I keep the heat gun on the low setting and wave it back and forth until the contact cement loses its wet shine, and then I press the pieces together.

Thanks for buying the template! Yes, when you cut the 2nd piece of each, the template should be flipped so you have the mirror of the first piece. And yes, the template is 1/2 of the helmet, when the templates are flipped to create the 2nd pieces of each part that will create the 2nd 1/2.

This was my first ever boss and I found it difficult as well. What I have found to work really well since making this video is to really heat the foam and press it into a bowl that has a curve which is the correct shape. This will stretch the foam and give a symmetrical dome. Thanks man! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but next time I'm going to use a vacuum chamber to remove air bubbles. The 5-minute resin wasn't a problem, but the clear casting resin could have used it.

Thanks man! They are a pain! 😂 I've has to adjust my print temp a couple of times because I was printing at too high of a temp and it would create "elephant foot" problem. Then it becomes even worse to hide.
