germans in ww1 : "hey you cant use shotguns, thats unfair and inhumane!" germans 23 years later : 🙈🙉🙊
Eyes shotgun in ww1 "yoooo wtf naaaahh"
I owned a Winchester 97 pump made in 1923. Think it might of been made for a prison guard. Had a 21" barrel and was a takedown version I dug it. Worked nice at our town dump. I could just hold the trigger down and pump it to fire rounds until empty. Think the tube held 6. Steel butt plate nice walnut and always worked. 1897 12ga.
Australian troops started using sawnoff shotguns in the trenches in 1916.
The Kaiser: Shotgun bad Machine good. Poison gas better. US Marine Gunny sergeant: No one ever won a war by dying for his country.
even to this day the invaders complain about getting hurt by the people they are attacking.
What's the difference between a frag explosive and a shotgun
That last comment made me laugh. I had to replay it to see if I had heard it right. The idea that the johnny-come-lately Americans had that kind of impact on the German armies, rather than the impact of the Indians, Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders, French and Brits and others who had fought right through the war is risible. Only one eyed Americans could take the view expressed at the end of this video. The kind of thing the loser clown Trump might say...
Ironically enough, you had me until that last comment
@@enovos3138 I suppose it was a touch gratuitous, but I do wonder how much Americans realise how much they are being increasingly viewed with scorn and contempt because of how they enable people like him and others like Bobert and MTG. Once it was only Palin making fools of the US of A, but now it is open season.
Funny that Germany protests shotguns, yet instigated the use of poison gas.
This from the Germans who used poison gas
Wait, could you really slam fire this thing? I mean I know you can use the recoil to help pump the gun, but he said you can hold the trigger down and use the pump to fire. Is that true? I haven’t shot that particular model but I don’t understand the mechanics behind it if true.
My granduncle, a WW I veteran, called it a 'trench broom'.
Huge misconception here in the comments. The Germans werent using gas for warfare, per se. it was used against the Jews, guys. Also, we used flamethrowers as well. The video nails it. Mentioning the treaties against arms meant to cause unnecessary damage. You guys can meme quotes all day but history gets lost because yall misconstrue it.
They were complaining about about a shotgun in a war with machine guns, flame throwers, poison gas?
Higher ups: We don’t approve of the way your pawns are killing our pawns…… and nothing has changed.
This is why we stand for the Anthem.
My all time favorite weapon was the combat shotgun I got to use in the Marines. Definitely the "war crimes stick".
They cried like a bitch....lol
AMERICANS USED SHOTGUNS AND IT MADE THE KAISER MAD IT MADE THE KAISER MAD IT MADE THE KAISER MAD
I found a video debunking the effectiveness of the trench sweeper and basically describing it as propaganda but I can’t find it again. It was pretty interesting cuz every other video on the shot gun has always had the opposite pov
God bless the souls of our Soldiers that our no longer with us and please allow them into the kingdom Lord ♥️🇺🇸
Guess ever call of duty player must be German. Always telling me stop 🛑 using shotgun.
Pretty rich from an army lobbing mustard gas into opposing lines.
00 buck isn't going through anything at 200 yards let alone carry enough energy to do anything after
"It's never a war crime, the first time"--Fat Electrician
well shotguns where one of the best weapons to have when storming into an enemy trench because it was better for close range
Germany also complained about the .303 ammunition used by the British and Commonwealth troops claiming that it was inhumane due to its Spitzer design causing appalling wounds.
I live close to the gothic line in italy.. during the siege of germans positions americans used incendiary bombs and incendiary ammos. It is reported that they killed wounded german soldiers on site and took few prisoners. These incendiary bombs killed dozens of civilians when bombs fell on houses.
Get bucked
It's war, nuff said
Shotgun is the gun that won the west!
When you fight, don’t fight fair cause you’ll never win - Kendrick Lamar.
I also thought it was protested because of exposed lead, and lead poisoning. Also, I question the penetration of a 2” plank at 150yds as reported.. This is not likely at 60 yds with oo at 1200fps.
It went boths ways in wwi The Americans complained about German sawback bayonets And made the same death threats with German soldiers
Human being a cruel, especially the American military.
Tefelhunden equals to devildog oo rah
Hahaha!
Every farm boy knows there is nothing like buckshot at 40 yards or less.
Were they not using mustard gas and flame throwers? Hmmm please
No rules exist in war. 🏴☠️🤙
Funny a shotgun was “unfair” but gas attacks, machine guns, and a variety of other weapons were just fine.
“I like to keep this handy. For close encounters.” - Cpl. Hicks
Imagine you are german shocktrooper equip only with a slow reloading single shot weapon trying to defend against americans who are equipped with shotguns and repeaters.😂
I would call a Maxim MG 100% worse than a crappy pump Action Shotty sooks
The way Americans responded to this makes me happy to see how they cried about IEDs in Middle East, what goes around, comes around.
Ironically they were using hand grenades that for the most part did the exact same thing with less range
Prussia. Not Germany. How hard is it to do the difference ?
Wasn't he Tommy gun the trench sweeper, then street sweeper.
Shotguns are bad but gas was fine?
The pot called the kettle black? Germany was the last country that should have been complaining about weaponry.
