Unfortunately I believe there is no public place access at all to get on the lake right now. Red's Cove was the last place but I saw a video the other day showing the ramp being cut off by a cable. I don't think you can even park or access the water from Red's anymore.

It's definitely not an easy lake to figure out but on the days you do it sure can be fun!

Honestly I’m not even sure you can currently launch a boat at the lake. I was launching at Red Cove, near the dam, but I stopped going when it got kinda sketchy launching the boat. It may get to a point where it’s actually easier to launch because of the slope of the bank. I haven’t been out there to check it out or talked to anyone who has lately though. You can call Red Cove and see if anyone has any answers for you.

First time ever fishing salt or dealing with strong current so yeah we were pretty clueless…still caught plenty of fish and had a blast. Some people learn from experiences, like you would if you called my dad a clown in front of me 😉

I think there's some grey area considering how the law is written

Eh, I’ll take my chances. After reading the law I think there’s a bit of grey area considering I was fishing using legal means to catch the hooked fish.

@@relentlesspursuitofbass ok. Catching game fish with a dip net is not a legal means. All the legal means are listed. Just letting you know. Doubt anyone will care except a warden.

@@Mags120fish1 using a dip net to assist in the landing of a fish using legal means of fishing is legal though. What I’m saying is this was not an intentional method being used, just a happenstance in the process of using legal means. That’s why I think there may be a grey area. Wardens may see it different and if so I just might find out the hard way I guess.

@@relentlesspursuitofbass it won’t matter to them. You clearly say in the video the smallmouth was not hooked. Cool to catch one like this, but it should have been immediately released.

@@Mags120fish1 if they do, oh well…I don’t know of anyone who has tested this exact situation and I doubt you have either. Like I said, I see a grey area. You don’t and to you it “should have been released”….obviously I don’t think the same 🤷‍♂️

This is one of the times I don't say where I'm at on purpose. This place used to have tons of nice bass but ever since it's been explored by more people the production has gone done greatly. I'm keeping the name and location on this one quiet but there's other videos of mine where I say exactly where I'm at!

It's as good as it's ever been as far as I can tell. The fishing around SA can be difficult due to the fishing pressure and generally how "educated" the fish are, but pretty much anywhere that holds water holds bass.

All the creeks and ponds around town have bass, even the ones a lot of people say there isn't.

I know that's what most of the grass at Stillhouse is, but that's NOT what I was fishing. I was fishing a different kind of weed, technically not really duck weed either, but that's what people down here call it. There was a little bit of hydrilla mixed in sometimes, but my main pattern was the "duckweed" edges.

It's a stadium seat cushion I got from walmart. It works pretty good, I wish it was just a tad bit bigger.

I told him to meet me there after he said he wanted to meet me and had my license plate number, him basically saying he was going to come to me anyway. Like I said in the video.....that was just a way to waste his time.
