318is with m52b28 with some kind of cams. had bmw stamped on them but none of the same markings as s50/s52 cams. got them from my friend who used to build bmw motors in the 90's

This is what happens when you take a STOCK TJ Wrangler into a trail like that. News Flash: STOCK TJ WRANGLERS ARE NOT DESIGNED TO TAKE ON OBSTICLES LIKE THIS....! No wonder you blew your damn D35 you idiot! WTF were you thinking?!?! Dana 35= Light to Moderate off road use, Max 31" Tires, 2.5 to 3.5" lift. In other words, camping, fishing, desert and wooded trails and mild to light hill climbs. NO ROCK CRAWLING...and NO PITS OF DEATH. Dana 44= Big Balls, LONG Cock, Bare Breasted OFF ROAD USE! CLIMBING MT. EVEREST, CRAWLING OUT OF SATIN"S ASSHOLE, 33" PLUS Tires, 3.25 to 6.25" Lift Kit that costs more than your mortgage...and a big breasted woman in the passenger seat yelling at you for MORE! That's the difference between the Dana 35 and the 44 my friend... In other words Tyler, Rausch Creek kicked your ass because you did not know WTF you were doing! I own and off-road a 2002 Wrangler X...and have never blown my Dana 35...you know why? Because I understand what my Jeep CAN and CAN'T do, and I use it accordingly. Happy Jeepin!

dana 44 is stronger than a dana 35, but if you are referring to a rubicon dana 44, then the axle tubes are basically the same size as a 35 for the tjs. the ford 8.8 out of explorer is way stronger if swapped in, especially with the weld on truss adapters for jeeps. as for stock options, the aluminum dana 44's in grand cherokees suck, and the only good dana 44 on newer jeeps is in the 4.0 comanches and 88-90 cherkees. i swapped in an older dana 44 into my 98 cherokee xj, has ford explorer disc brake conversion and a powertrax locker... works pretty good. however with relatively little mods and same bolt patter i would probably swap in a trussed 8.8 into a tj. just my .02 unless you want to go with full width or custom axles that is the best option

Backpressure is BS. Why would you want the engine to work harder to push exhaust out? 3 inch on an NA 2.5 or 3.0L? Ok thats overkill. 2.5 is perfectly fine
Tyler Chedister A little back pressure is a good thing. In fact, it helps. The right size pipe is large enough to breathe well but small enough to create a high exhaust flow. Steps in the exhaust system also create negative pressure waves that travel back to the cylinder and help empty the cylinder of those gases.
In my opinion, te e36 looks much better without the spoiler... I have one and it just gives it such a clean look. (If you're looking for looks)

The D35 is such a craptastic axle. And one hopes you're not running a c-clip.
most chrysler axles are cclip for jeeps, dana 44 is only one i know that isn't for jeeps. also the 8.25 chrysler axle and ford 8.8 are both cclip axles and are on par with the dana 44 for strength in the stock configuration
if you have disk brakes (like some dana44 or ford8.8) they can hold the axle in the housing, unlike the drums other interesting info that i found; Numbers from January edition (unknown year) of Fourwheeler, page 60. Dana 35 rear axle COT: 870 MOT: 3480 Dana 44 rear axle COT: 1100 MOT: 4460 Ford 8.8 28spline COT: 1250 MOT: 4600 Ford 8.8 31spline COT: 1360 MOT: 5100 Dana60 semifloat COT: 1500 MOT: 5500 COT: Continuous output torque rating MOT: Maximum output torque rating
