Operation Imperial Lake 2023: Vietnam War Reenactment
มุมมอง 22Kปีที่แล้ว
I shot this video in June of 2023 at Operation Imperial Lake, a Vietnam War reenactment held in southern Ohio. The event takes place in April of 1971, following the actions of the 1st Marine Division. I decided to model my video off of news reports of the period, doing my best to keep everything as accurate as possible. I hope you all enjoy! CONTACT ME: TPD1Productions@gmail.com LINKTREE: linkt...

This is a skit my friends and I made for film class. On a whim, we submitted it to the 53rd annual Michigan Student Film Festival, and what do you know, it won best of show for the narrative short category! I decided to make this video public, so I hope you enjoy! By the way, it was filmed back in October, see if you can spot the Halloween decorations.
My Great Grandfather China Sea Phil | Family History Documentary

This is a documentary I've spent the last three months putting together. I heard the stories my Grandma would tell, and when I found a box of his stuff I knew there was a great story that had to be told. I scanned over 300 documents and photos and poured many hours into researching his life and connections. There's so much more to tell, but I could only fit so much into this documentary. I hope...

This is my third revision of a newsreel I made in 2019 with the footage I shot at Thunder Over Michigan, and since it won a gold key at the Scholastic Art & Writing awards I thought I'd upload this version. Most of these photos were taken on film using period correct cameras. Enjoy! Instagram: @Tpd_photos Etsy: www.etsy.com/shop/TommysCameraShop?ref=shop_sugg

TWO WEEKS, TWO WEEKS TWO WEEKS.
why is there a union sharpshooter fighting for the confederacy?
How did you make the falling effect?? It looks cool!
Excellent! Looks and feels quite real.
Nothing about this is correct...
What do you mean?
@@TheMeanGreen53 Well just look at it. You have people running around in incorrect uniforms, improper formations, not to mention the dude in the freaking tree! Aside from the few guys that were on the federal side, it was completely farb
@@TransMissCampaigner1864 yeah now that you point it out I see that
@@TheMeanGreen53i see a union sharpshooter fighting on the confederacy at the timestamp 1:00 i think
Wow! Thank you so much! I was there as a Confederate Soldier ( 05:08). Great video and footage. See you at Fort Clinch!
honestly, if you shoot one of these cameras at f4 you can get an interesting bokeh effect that I haven't really seen on other lenses
this is perfect. i would give up my sad ass life to do this. (i know that war sucks, my life sucks more)
I just won a Golden Shield model from an auction last night for $36 and stumbled upon this video in my research. Very well made, thank you!
When u find cameras like this at estate sales, do you typically find ones that are in working order? Or do u have to fix them yourself? And if it's the latter, how have you been able to figure that out? Thanks!
Nice video. Thanks. I will be using my Argus C3 for WW2 reenactment.
dude! thank you so much. my friend is selling a Kodak M18 and i gasped because i wanted it so much. this helps. thanks!
I could not tell the difference if this was a real news clip or not! Excellent work!
What a story. Love it. Movie material.
I really wanna attend this this year
By 1970 Im sure Marines weren't issued M-14's which most preferred over the M-16A1..
Also can use interchangeable lenses.
It's been used in a few movies because of itsSeampunk look.
quite a bit of action on the field *LIKED* and *SUBSCRIBED* -- sending you a personal invite to checkout our groups as well.

Amazing!
I wanted to fly out to see this at the film festival so bad. Thank you for preserving history.
Have you been able to see the film yet?
@@TPDProductions Not yet, planning on buying the DVD!
I hope you enjoy the film, definitely let me know what you think!
Any updates on a release?
The film is now available to stream on HistoryFix! Here’s a link: historyfix.com/buy?campaign=TPDProd
Holy hell this is incredible. What kind of camera did you use for this and where was this shot?
Tarawa was no joke. It was pure Hell
You're right!
Nice work, looks great
Excellent Tommy!!!
Great job filming Tommy!! Your team did an excellent job at acting like they were under fire too
Love the attention to detail and the unit cohesion you guys have in the video
Ok you guys could drop the volume and add an old grainy black and white filter and pass this off as historical footage. The attention too detail is insane. Damn fine job
Hans, are we the bad guys?
One of the more immersive and good looking units i’ve seen, good job
The good Ole Big Red One. Makes me feel proud. Grandpa was in 1st division from late 42 til wounded out of action In early 45. Today is actually his birthday. If he were alive he would be 105 today. Thanks for sharing this.
There is a very good movie about the big red one called the big red one
Looking good . I need to get back into WW2 unfortunately no reg GI units close that are active
Honestly that first minute was real tense.😬
Great work as always! Looks amazing
German & prewar cameras are great…. Lets see! Thats what I mostly collect! Thanks
Beats what I did last weekend.
Ever seen a Universal Mercury II? Just recently found out about them, it was the American response to the expensive and more advanced German cameras of the time. They were the price of an Argus C3 but more capable. They're pretty cool, they use a rotary focal plane shutter similar to what was used in professional movie cameras and could go up to 1/1000
Superb video. Thanks for the historical living history.
Thank you for your review! Very useful
One of the few videos that actually details how the focal plane shutter is used! Thanks so much
“Pinecones are Grenades”
All the good reenactments are in the Ohio area apparently.
REally cool - I share your enthusiasm. Hope all well.
This was just the video I was looking for on the Speed Graphic!! Great Job! I'm shopping for a Speed Graphic now as I type this. 😂 I'm a long time film user and recently went digital, but decided I really need to get back to film where I did my best work. Thanks very much.😊
Do you make TikTok videos. I swear I saw one of this event on my for you page. Pretty sick event
Very very cool
