I’m guessing you were in the area while whitetail does were open for gos or maybe the youth November and some idiot shot it, gutted it then someone from their hunting party informed them it was a mule deer. Pretty common these days with the amount of newbie idiots that just get handed licenses in todays participation trophy society now that hunting has become a fad. Most have zero clue about wildlife and somehow pass the one day test, absolute joke.
At 1:39 i shot a black bear at the bottom in the rock garden was a nightmare to get him out by myself
That's wild! Would have definitely been a grind to climb out of that valley... Congrats on the harvest though :)
The look on Kaido's face when buddy fell is priceless. I want to see that same face when you guys drop your monster buck/bull moose etc one of these trips!
hahaha right! Yea man, that's the goal for 2025!!
Thomas/Kaido,next time you want an adventure in Powell River, hit up Lois Lake!! 20lb plus sized rainbows. They're some kind of morphed rainbows or something. Ask the locals or look the lake up on TH-cam. Actually, look up the Lois Lake episode of"Reel Fishing" with Brendan Morrison.
My god you guys eat good!! Every time I watch one of your bids I'm starving. WooHoo!
hahah we always say we eat better camping than we do at home! Thanks for watching man, hope you enjoyed!
Kinda looks like Allison or Missoula
Yeah,what lake?
@@charlesbey8636 I always have mixed feelings about sharing locations because either way I get negative feedback… but I’ll say that you’re definitely in the neighbourhood! Tons of lakes in that region that are great for ODRS & ice fishing :) thanks for watching!
Hey,just a heads up on your grouse cleaning method. A its easier to do when its first shot while its warm and B you don't have to gut it first if that's what you were doing first. But hey,you got er done nicely!!
@@charlesbey8636 cheers, thanks for the tip!
Did this a couple years ago, was the coolest thing ever. Nice video.
@@Archie_Adventures Such an incredible experience eh? Thanks for watching :)
Hi Thomas what is the camp site location if you can share please?
Years ago when I went deer hunting base camp was a tent.
That's awesome! I'd like to do a backcountry hunt next year. Until then, a warm cabin with good food is hard to beat after a day in the bush!
Good wholesome content….but you boys better stay in region 3 if you get anxious over a few wolves!
@@SGPower730 haha thanks for watching! Yeah probably won’t see me doing too much hunting in g bear territory
Whats with every one carrying bear spray ?
@@barb.gerhard9501 it’s good mosquito deterrent 😉
Keep the region out your effen mouth!!!!!!
how do you guys not lost your way
That’s a great question! I used to have a satellite gps and would save my way points to get back to the truck. Now I use an app called Avenza on my iPhone and it works without cell service and I can set way points, see topography and all that fun stuff. If I don’t have technology sometimes I’ll hang flagging tape on tree limbs as well!
@@thomaslawson177 Flag tape is a old way.thanks
U idiots ...stop mentioning the region !!!!!!!!!
what an absolute river monster
definitely above average
Great surf Thomas, and happy two years! How time flies... ! 😄
We gonna make a cheeky 6-month reunion vlog in a couple weeks??
I didn't know it was possible not to catch a fish at Tunkwa.
hahaha I'm glad I could make the impossible, possible for you LOL thanks for watching 🙌 (also I'm open to any advice you have for my next visit)
1000 missed calls from “Outdoor Boys”😂😂😂
haha I friggin wish
Any 36year olds that look like me in Collangatta?
haha not that I've seen... do you have family over here?
@@thomaslawson177 Whats your name - Who's your daddy?
Haven't been around for a while but have you moved to Australia?
Yeah! Short-term though, I'll be back by April :)
Stop giving out the region u a holes!!!!
Where are those cabins? I was going to say Mile High Resort on Paska, but now I'm not sure..
@@thestujames Close guess! We were at wildlings resort but the owners recently sold it (Aug/24) and now the area is going private which is devastating. Been going there for 8 years now :/
Hmm. I was gonna guess that-away to............
Hey dude, why you fly away to another side of the world, it is hunting season in BC now! LOL, good luck and take care!
@@stevez3527 haha man trust me, I have the biggest hunting withdrawals right now… I’ll be back by April next year so right in time for bear season at least!
@@thomaslawson177 Before you leave have a look at what happens in some NSW state forests at the beginning of April haha
@@GSPointingI just took a look… Sounds like I need to connect with some locals in northern NSW who can show me the ropes down under for venison harvesting!
the instant replay of the truck over the 2 foot drop made my day
@@shayanlakhani9856 hahahah the montage of the exact same drop 😂😂 it felt like we were jumping 60 feet
Eff off stay out of region region 3 and stop posting where you are hunting ffs !!!!!!!!!
What calibers you guys using?
@@heydaddy6817 We had two 308s and a 270. Good all around calibers for BC imo
@@thomaslawson177 Surprised no 30-30
@@heydaddy6817 Yea, good point- I do have an older lever action 30-30, but I haven't been able to mount a scope or sight on it, and my efficacy with the iron sights isn't much better than 80 yards haha
Epic! Need more Australia content, go spear yourself some dinna
Working on itttt ahah
good muck boys

Get the eff out of my hunting areas !!!!!
No
Having fun and enjoying our great outdoors! That's what life is all about in my opinion. I get to the woods every weekend. Can't get enough of it!
You bet! Thanks for watching :)
Lol! You're hunting in the busiest place in BC right there. That was an aspen, not an alder. Also, it's not a scrape, its a rub. Scrapes are on the ground. Fun video though.
Haha yup, weekend warriors definitely means hunting in the crowds. Still fun to get out though. Thanks for the correction- rub & aspen. Thanks for the comment :)
@@thomaslawson177 Hey! At least you’re out doing it, and I only know how busy it gets there, because I’m one of those guys hunting there too. In fact, I believe I saw you at the gas station in a nearby town, and we chatted for a few minutes. I recognize your truck! Hahaha!
Awesome seeing this place again. I grew up fishing there in the 60s and 70s. We used drive to that spot to camp at the lake from Hope on the old cattle road and it would be 3hrs of some hard 4 wheeling.
I bet the fish were a lot bigger back then- was that the case?? From what we caught they were all pretty small. Woah, would love to track down that old road- have you seen the Ladner Creek Trestle? That's a cool spot in the same area. Thanks for sharing!
What bino tripod are you using ???
I go over the setup in more detail in this video: th-cam.com/video/HpaWaHtn5Rg/w-d-xo.html (0: 48) but it's just a cheap bino adapter from Amazon and a cheap Facebook Marketplace camera tripod (I think I paid about 15 bucks for it?) But it works great!
O ya binoculars with one hand 😮😮
Tacoma fan boy here, but UBC and Langara geek! Thanks for the video! Timber cruised in Williams Lake. Loved seeing this area once again. Cheers! Peace Be The Journey!
I guess we have a similar background! I'm a Ubc alum and did silviculture in Quesnel! Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching :)
Savour these moments with your grandpa, pal.
You bet, he's the man.
Great great video 😂
haha I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks :)
Dude youre in prime fossicking country, creek walking down from the log cabins is mint for semi precious gems. Its legitimately, my favourite place to nature! love seeing fellow 'mericans soaking up the aussie goodness! loved the vid man! i wanna be camping now!!!!
Thanks for the comment! We never made it down to the creek behind the log cabin but we'll definitely be back. I'll keep an eye out for the gems next time- it would be awesome to find something. Cheers mate!
whats the first place you went too
Which place are you referring to? Like the waterfall spot?
@@thomaslawson177 yeah
@@brizlightningwiz It's called Natural bridge in Springbrook National park! Cool spot, worth checking out.
Looking like a sweet life down there🦘😎
Vlogs down under need a familiar face! Come down n lets make some contentttt
The only issue here - fires are not allowed in the woods. This was not a good idea.
Comando Camping
banger
nice dude, I just drove through there it was awesome!
Heck yea man! Jasper, Banff and Canmore are probably my three favourite places to visit
why were you scared of the wolves when you had rifles?
haha good question lol, it was our first time seeing wolves so it got the adrenaline racing and it was super intense
Anyone ever complain about rifles and trekking around for small game in that location? Being that its so local.
Good question! We were concerned about that, but everyone we met was much more interested in what we were hunting and didn't seem offended. We also met two other folks with their 22s which even surprised us.
Cool video boys. Powell River is dope. The whole sunshine coast is amazing.
Thank you! Yea, the Sunshine Coast is unreal and it's great because the ferry is short and cheap. PR is on a different level but no doubt a bit more challenging to access. Thanks for watching!!
