"There's not a ton of labbing..." Yes there is. It's wild that you thought you could pass the CCNA without a) labbing a shit ton and b) doing practice exams until you're reliably scoring 90%+
In my opinion, all you need is the Boson practice exam, Jeremy IT Lab, and ChatGPT. The questions seems simple when I got to the real exam. I didn't really get any trick questions.
Can i start as a beginner?
i think you miss the point of what networking is if you think is just IP address. then i think you should move on.
Lol
Where can I get the book?
Link in description
No need, bud, I passed my CCNA today. What's the next stop?
Whatever you choose! Whats your idea for the next one?
Great job. Ive been studying since January. Hope to be ready by end of year. I need to DL boson. Read ocg cover to cover and went through jeremy it labs but still struggling with practice Exams easier than boson.
Its not an easy journey at all but I applaud you for the hard work💪
how about Jermy IT lab YT videos ?
I hear a ton of people recommend him. I haven't personally went through his stuff but I would assume its good just off of all the recommendations!
I use Jeremy’s it labs as well. Was wondering how it compares to Boson labs. Jeremy’s is free and uses packet tracer free software from Cisco.
I’ve only used his labs, flash cards, and video course to pass the ccna is March I didn’t even read through the OCG
Hey love your videos I remember the days when I was trying to learn what to learn. And pretty much using interviews for reconnaissance and not actually expecting to get a job. I love how you took the feedback from the interviewer cos he was right that knowing some Active Directory group policy is kind of a must have skill. I’m not a networking person I work mostly in windows server and Microsoft 365 and Azure and I don’t see any company taking someone seriously if they don’t know anything about Active Directory and M365. Good luck on your journey
Great comment, I definitely agree on needing to know Active Directory. Seems like almost the most mentioned skill
False D is right
Data encapsulation is right I wait your answer
Frame
Layer 2 data links layer
so i just got hired in at a entry level position going from a mechanic to this is brain wrecking hoping this is something i can do long term
Good luck! Get used to being somewhat bored and somewhat stressed but just dont anything personal and do your best
This is a very important video thank you. I've been thinking about getting My CCNA but I believe it'll be best to get my CCST first. Do you have any advice on this videos, books or courses?
Boson practice exams and labs
I work in virtualization (particularly VMware), I decided to take the CCNA after coming to the conclusion that I was pretty weak on networking and let me tell you - without a doubt - the most tedious thing I've ever committed to. Very helpful for the long run but... at what costs lmao
Hahahaha 100%
Thank you for the video
No problem!
Congratulations 🎉
Thanks💪
10.10.0.0/smt ...for real dude i feel you 🤣
You did say secret???!
Top secret
LOL… the big picture is interesting, though. Also, other architectures in Cisco aren’t so mind-numbing. Collaboration is perhaps the most compelling.
What the heck is that green thing in the background?
Hahahah my toddlers Christmas tree.
Yep it's boring as hell lmao.. planning on taking the ccna in a month or two but it's tough to get through some of the material for sure lol
Hahahaha good luck out there.
Thank you this! thought it was only me.
😂 almost everyone I know studying says the same
I do actually find it interesting. I was lucky to finy a job before achieving the certificate. I got interested first in the topic, then started studying, which made remembering stuff much easier
I definitely find on the job stuff more interesting
Yeah. The CCNA is a beast. Congrats on persevering.
💪💪💪
This is why I enjoy fishing while working as a beginner network admin and studying for the ccna. To help with studying, though, I create a "professional" office environment in my home - prior certs on the wall, scented "dark forest" candle, white board to diagram stuff, a set schedule to be in this home office away from house activity. Agreed - super boring stuff (I wanted to be a filmmaker as a kid; plus I enjoy science). But it's a myth, in my opinion, that you should be passionate about your work in order to be happy. I view this training as simply being skillful and useful at my job and this helps with the bigger over-all picture of 'carrying my load' of responsibility, which is what brings a sense of accomplishment. I try to get out there on my kayak to do some bass fishing whenever I get a chance. Stay balanced out.
Do you study while fishing or keep it seperate? Sounds kind of nice🤔
@@networkbret 😆 I have taken time to read early in the morning on the kayak a couple years ago - very peaceful! But no.. bass fishing is very active with constant casting/reeling to trigger a bite. Studying is firmly separate from my recreation! 😁
I realized this when creating flashcards for a CompTIA Exam and I realized I didn't have music on: the only sound I could hear was my hands shuffling through the cards and my mechanical pencil. It's like the only thing happening is your brain attempting to retain the information. Could definitely be seen as a lonely endeavor but I just think of all the prophets and innovators throughout history who have had to go through something similar. It's merit based vanity.
For sure
The list of skills required is crazy.
Somebody finally said it. Its so boring 🤣
😂😂
Are you gonna add to your CCNA certification like doing a course on python or something?
What?
@@networkbret I think he meant to say if you'll be adding any more skills besides the CCNA for your resume
Thank you for being so relatable.
No problem!
I'm new to IT and currently studying Network + and I'm forcing myself to study for the end goal and my future self lol.
Awesome to hear. Its easy to get discouraged because of how uninteresting it can be but I believe it will pay off if you keep working
I’m halfway through Jeremy’s CCNA book and labs. It can be boring yes. I force myself to read everything, even if it doesn’t make perfect sense. The only trick I found is study 20 minutes then take a break. Repeat several times a day and I make good progress.
I feel the same. I reread things 5 times if that is what it takes for it to finally click. Even if I forget right after😂😭
pretty boring stuff. what i learn i forget
Thanks for keeping it real, taking my exam Friday!
Good luck Jay! Let us know how you do.
Good luck! Come back and let us know how it went I know others will comment asking. I have my AWS cloud scheduled Friday but there is a hurricane so I may not be able to test for it
@@networkbret aws cloud practitioner was easier than comptia A+
Same layer interaction
Thank you for this video! It was comforting and reassuring to hear your experience
Thank you
🥸
Lol I meant to reply with 💪 but somehow clicked the glasses guy
They are lying to you. You work as network engineer switching and routing or network admin. They should not let you both. You will not time to do both
You should make a discord or something
Decent idea🤔 I will consider for sure
I’m glad I found this channel. I just got my CCNA on the 18th of August. I don’t have any other certs but was planning on taking the aws ccp and was just thinking that the exam should be way more easy. Especially knowing you don’t have to do any configurations. But man I’m on the same boat I have a full time job I have a 2 year old daughter finding the time to study is extremely difficult lol shoot I got my CCNA studying at work when I could 😂
Hahaha I did 90% of my studying for my CCNA at work. Also the AWS CCP is wayyyy easier I just tried to rush it too bad.
This would've been useful before I spend weeks learning the Network Class ranges. Very cool. This will make for a good back up.
Yes💪
CCNA has become ridiculous. They're going to shoot themselves in the foot making that test so complicated. I'm not throwing away money on that.
Is the new one that bad??
Knowledge is power, Knowledge is free
Luv you man, Keep going! you why i am here <3
Did you hop on AWS and spin up services to help picture the architecture? I already worked with AWS for crypto nodes and other services and Solution Architect was still hard. Passed by only 30 points
I did not as I only studied for a week lol. Congrats though!!
I passed on my first attempt. Lab, lab, LAB!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep labbing until you can't lab no more and when you are finished, LAB AGAIN!! I really cannot stress this enough. It will help you with learning the commands and why you use these commands. Not to mention, it's very satisfying and fun. Next, understand the theory, not just memorize it. It's important to understand what you're studying. I used Boson as well. I failed all of the pretests. I went to go ahead and take the CCNA and passed. Boson just gets you ready. Plenty of people have failed it and passed the real test.
Very informative video. I'm thinking of scheduling mine later this week. I'm not great at studying but I've been trying my best for the last few months and I'm doing pretty well on the Boson, How2Pass, and Cisco practice exams. I will update this comment after I take the test. Wish me luck
Good luck!! Sounds like you have been studying hard💪
@@networkbret Appreciate it. Just passed. Was easier than I thought. I think I over studied lmao
I am just curious. Did you apply for the open position with this company? Or did you apply to be the whole IT department? 😂 Most shops only specialize in selected vendors, not all the vendors available in the industry.
😭😭😭😭 I cant even remember now but this video keeps getting comments like this and it cracks me up
Very helpful thanks!
