Again, I repeat: I have absolutely no problem with Latvia! I only said the things I said because the other guy was bashing Sweden, so I wanted to give him some of his own medicine. No hard feelings :)

Don't see the reason for this argument anyway. Sweden is more advanced than Latvia, that's true, but atleast we can pride ourselves in being amongst the most advanced ex-USSR republics. Most hate the USSR and everything to do with it, but it's always positive to know that after 50 years of repression, opression and destruction from being occupied by the Soviets, we managed to come back as an advanced and Western-oriented country.

If you were not aware, the internet speed statistics are different from one source to another, but Latvia is in the TOP 5 of every single one of those statistics and that's good enough. I don't see how Latvia's location in the Baltic States has anything to do with its internet speed. We are in world's TOP 5 when it comes to internet speed and that's all that matters, plus - internet is VERY cheap here, you can easily afford the best connections & you get a lot of nice stuff in package.

When I took my children to Sweden on holiday last year, I was depressed by it. On a normal day in Sweden no one smiles. If you do smile, people look at you as if you're trying to steal their wallet.

Listen, I don't have a problem with you guys. I would never randomly start an argument like this, I simply responded because you were talking smack about Sweden. And I was talking about 4G (which is expensive). Internet speed has nothing to do with how advanced you are, it's about being located in the right places. And FYI, Japan's got the fastest Internet connection with an average of 54.1 mb/s. South Korea has the 2nd fastest connection with 48.8 mb/s. Latvia is on 4th place with 37,5 mb/s.

I know that Sweden is fine and developed country with educated people. I just wanna tell that Baltics are underestimated. For 50 years we lived under the communists, we were cut off from European world. But before Soviet Union we had same economics level as Germany here. And now we have crazy mixes of cultures, west and east. We have German, Swedish and Russian churches everywhere. I find it cool. p.s. by the way we have 2nd fastest internet connection in the world, even we are not so rich.
