TRYING TO GET BACK ON THE GRIND
Trying to get back on the grind after taking a little time away from everything. My mother passed away unexpectedly in August and it has been a rough few months to cope with. I appreciate all the love and support from everyone during this time, so thanks for that. Staying busy and keeping my mind busy has been helping, so fishing is definitely an escape from reality for a bit that I can surely use. Looking forward to making videos again and thank you all for watching! Went on a solo mission to the Gilman Tunnels near Jemez, New Mexico to fish the Rio Guadalupe. Only spent half the day and this turned out to be one of my longer videos! This little stream is awesome! It was kinda muddy from rain the previous days but still fished pretty good. Hope you enjoy the video! LIKE & SUBSCRIBE for more! TROUT FISHING in RED RIVER & HATCHERY VISIT
มุมมอง 9532 หลายเดือนก่อน
This was a fun trip. We stopped near Questa, New Mexico to visit the Red River Fish Hatchery. If you are ever in the area I recommend checking it out. It was pretty awesome to see all those huge trout in the pond and feed them pellets. The Red River itself is also a great place to fish!! FISHING the CIMARRON RIVER in NEW MEXICO
มุมมอง 1K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
After spending most of the day at Eagle Nest lake here in NM, we took off to check out the Cimarron River and do some more trout fishing. I personally haven't fished this river in a few years so it was nice to get back to the area. The river was running perfect and the fish were biting on almost anything you threw at them. Definitely recommend checking it out if you have not already! LIKE & SUB...

When did the rules change? That section of the Pecos River, starting just above the Mora Confluence to Cowles and beyond, used to be Special Water; single barbless hook, no bait fishing.
Not sure about rule changes, but there are still a lot of sections along the river that are special trout waters. I know most of the tributaries that flow into the Pecos are as well
Incredible river

@joetrujillo6027 doing ok. Still hard to fathom. Just taking it day by day. Trying to get back to some normalcy. I appreciate you asking man thank you 👍
So nice
Looks like a garden pond, that’s sweet?
Beautiful. Reminds me of my time in Utah. I hope to move back soon!
My grandfather lived in Spearman Texas and would spend a week or two every summer fishing at Eagle Nest. It’s a beautiful area. My grandmother henpecked him quite a bit, he’s been gone over 30 years now. I’m in my sixties, and now I understand why he loved the solitude of fishing.
@RoyceHintergardt gorgeous area! And there is something special about taking some time away from everything and just casting a line.
Get any salmon?
I have before but not recently. Salmon snagging season is coming soon here in NM though!
@@nmangling yep looking forward to it at Navajo!
That was the 1 cool thing about living in the spot was the balloons all the time
One of the prettiest trout streams in the USA. Thanks for sharing.
@garyrafferty7625 thanks for watching!

Good video bro. They were nice size gave you a good fight too
@@DukeCityFishing thanks for watching brotha!
What are some setup rigs for fishing trout in fast moving creeks ?
My favorite rig is the Carolina Rig. I sometimes use a bobber and some extra split shots where the hook ties to the main line if the current is moving fast. Just trying to slow down the bait a bit
What road is that drives down to river is the one that goes to taos junction bridge
@carloszamora8037 the road that will take you down into the Gorge and to the Taos Junction Bridge is called West Rim Rd. Hope that helps 👍
@nmangling thanks brother

Love the video brother where's his campsite located at
@@1chaparo the camp site was along the Rio de Las Vacas about a mile before the girl scout camp on forest rd 20
Heading up to this weekend how far off of 126 did you go up
I always access it from the Cuba side and it is about 23 miles to that spot from Cuba.
Longest single span tramway.
Catch and release. Nice wild browns. Hatchery bows. Love the video. Thanks for sharing.
