HOW GOOD IS RANNO IN RIVALS OF AETHER 2?
Ranno is definantly one of my favourite characters in this game just in terms of design, hes so flashy and he has so much variety in his combo routes, really exicted to see what top players can do with him

bro kieby is not bottom 8!!!!
how do you use soccerball skin I had it for 1 game but now I dont very confused
I feel like ranno gets a bad rep wheb zettrrburn and clairen are right there. Ranno is busted but he is also light af with bad air speed and perfect combo weight. Also the idea that he’s stupid easy I also disagree with. His 0-30/40’s are easy but he requires some fundies.
mfw ranno fair kills at 90 with bad di and zetterburn fair sweetspot doesnt even kill at 160 on a lot of the cast
As a ranno player who’s best friend mains zet, please stop the cap. They are both busted moves brother
Not stronk enough as a rival tho. Only op move is fair
I haven't watched this yet but if fire emblem characters aren't bottom tier ima tweak.
He's super cool. But his F-Smash is completely broken and kills it
perfect for if you want to see results with 0 effort ngl
I do think his level of entry is a little higher then some but you right that it’s no where near the actual hard characters
@@ProofBlock you could teach a monkey to do his tech chase and every one of his moves combos into the other
I really need to try this game! Just worried it will feel sluggish compared to SSBU like most of these style games do :(
Rivals is significantly faster than SSBU. The issue might be SSBU feeling sluggish afterwards :)
As an ultimate enjoyer who just started playing yesterday, the speed is absolutely there. Even the slowest characters have blitzed me hard and that’s mostly thanks to the game having movement mechanics that ultimate just doesn’t have, so much so that it’ll probably take me a while to get used to how much more you can do with every fighter. If you’ve got 25-30 bucks, it’s absolutely worth it👍🏻
Don’t worry this game is way faster then ult
Please please PLEASE it’s Sheik not Shiek
FIXED
@@ProofBlock thank you very much
Lmao😂
I wasn’t prepared for furry
You never truly are
just played vs my first good ranno and omg wtaf even is this character
That’s it be in this game, all it takes is one good player to show you what a character can really do
I felt the same after fighting a loxodont fresh out the lab with the combos.
Every platform fighter must have the smash nair.
It’s iconic
SHEIK IS TOP 9??? i haven’t followed Ult in a looooong time but i remember when she was like bottom tier lmao 😭
She ain’t (unless your tweek) she’s just similar to Ranno lmao
Fursuit jumpscare holy cow lol
It is furry smash after all
Lucius played crazy good at supernova, especially considering he was in fursuit. I bet its hard to see in that thing.
Bro, imagine losing in bracket to a furry 😭😭
The fact they are competing in a full fursuit is as impressive as is it absurd 💀😂
Small correction, you can wavedash fully horizontal in Rivals, no need to hold down!
Rivals 2 is so good. I will never play ult again
0:19 this take was immediately garbage.
That wasn’t even a take it was a bit calm yourself
Crawl back to your containment board
I would say the biggest difference for me switching from ult to rivals is the no buffer system
I literally never buffered once in ult so I didn’t notice but you are absolutely right
There is a buffer system though, it just functions differently. If you want to know what no buffer system feels like, try Melee.
Rivals 2 is more mechanically sound than Ultimate and that should be embarrassing for Nintendo. I'm never going back.
They never stood a chance
Smash is a party game. It was never meant to be more than that
@@edgardohenriquez4079 Melee is still a good party game, casuals don’t actually care about competitive tech because they don’t know it exists and they’re playing ffa with items anyways
Ultimate is a fun experience with friends and has a ton of fun side content. that’s all Nintendo wanted it to be so i doubt they’re really embarrassed, especially with the amount of money it made them.
i havent tried yet, but wave dashing might be the thing that stops me from actually trying hard in this game
Wave Dashing isn't nearly as useful in Rivals 2 as it is in Melee and Rivals 2 doesn't have L--Cancelling either so it's much easier to get good at than Melee.
I wouldn’t let it deter you, you are still able to play the game completely without it, the tech just allows you to take it to the next level
Rivals lets you buffer wavedashes, so it’s just jump+roll at the same time, with a little leniency as well. The only challenge with wavedashing is learning to implement them, but watching other players will make that pretty easy too.
hit falling is another huge difference that massively effects the combo/pressure between the two games
I knew I forgot something
Hit falling is the best thing, the combo potential (expetialy in rival 1)
@@ProofBlock still a great video, just wanted to add onto it
wave dashing/landing and hit falling were the 2 things i had to get used to the most
Wave dashing has been the main thing for me, I’m just now starting to use it in combos
I'm going to buy it when it comes to switch immediately because brawlhalla is hell. I'm only playing brawlhalla because I want to play more platform fighters outside of smash
Fair enough honestly
forgot to mention that if you are thrown you can't get grabbed for a bit UNLESS they normal pummel you, which then allows for chain grabs. It was also a bit unclear how you mentioned that if you press either the normal or special pummel button when your opponent pummels, if you press the same pummel button as your opponent you are set free from the grab.
I didnt know about the chain grabs, and thanks for clarifying im pretty sure I said it in the video but being clear only helps
I've been having trouble understanding the wave of rivals content and this video was super useful. Thanks!
glad it helped
Been waiting for peak tea to rise up again ☕ 🥊
I love rewatching this. I wonder if there may ever be another video like this :)
I feel like people don’t talk about the Na power up’s that Miya gets. It feels like every time he went to NA he became a better player cause he would have bad placements in NA but than come back to Japan and start destroying people that Acola struggles to beat. But him winning cirque is proof that he’s getting powered up by NA and he beat Spargo at the Litvitational when his past sets with him were not close showing how far he’s come.
1:18 Brawler really excels against most other brawlers because he has the option to scrap or to wall out with his surprisingly large disjoints
huge
Spargo was raging the whole time. Imagine being a fan, although Tea and Miya are the superstars!
TM7_Zap will still be disrespected for the Litvitational 2 situation, but glad he’s doing well.
Miya is fucking terrifying. He adapts so fast it’s ridiculous
Idk about the nitty gritty of the numbers, but if Sparg0 wins another big one (most likely Delfino Maza) and remains in the top 8s, then I think it’d take a herculean effort from Miya to close the gap which starts at LMMM being a near necessity to win. Unless Japan just goes hard in the paint and spawns like 10 new A tiers and Miya wins them all I just don’t think he should be #1 when Sparg0 has probably the 2 best wins of the season and hasn’t really had a let down performance outside of one invitational lol.
The peabnut light set was so frustrating at the end Peab dropped a bunch of edgeguards and light didn't even die at 100 to an up smash like bro since when is fox living this type of stuff
The MU is garbage
Stop glazing shadic man
When he stops winning
Lima is the best Bayo in the world, and has been for quite some time. Even back then when people argued for Bloom4eva (before Tama P), Lima was the best. He just didn't attend sufficient events, and Bloom was favored for having easier brackets in EU. With the rise of Tama P and the underperformances of Bloom, people focused more on Tama P. But I genuinely believe Lima has been the best for quite some time.
Definitely not lol, Bloom was the reason people started talking about Bayo a while ago. He has the best fundies with the character, so he picked her to the great level the fastest. Also i wouldn't call it "underperformances of Bloom" when the guy is trolling all year. Since Day 1 we knew Bloom doesn't take the game seriously. You basically saying "Lima didn't attend, and Bloom was winning events" and it somehow made Lima better is crazy bias. Lima is the best now for sure but saying he was 2+ years ago is crazy. If he was he would at least win some major by now lol.
Lima hasn't gotten top 8 at a SINGE goddamn major in ultimate until collision 2023 and you're blaming it on attendance? Bloom was ranked 21st in 2022 while lima was ranked 48th. Bloom attended 5 majors that year and lima attended 4. lima went to much more events outside of majors. Bloom was no question the best bayo in 2022
@@sweetpeach-l8o @jennyqin3298 Lima hasn't won a major because NA is much more difficult to compete in than EU. NA players that travel to EU have a much easier time placing higher. Bloom has major wins in EU, but hasn't really achieved anything in the two stronger regions, NA and Japan. And it's not an opinion, its a well known fact that EU players that tend to top 8 there (except Gluto), will often not even make it to the top 16 or 32 in the more stacked NA/JPN P tiers. There's a reason why there has never been the equivalent of an EU P tier, in all of ultimate. Heck, the last S tier they had was Tera, and that was more than a year ago. They haven't even had the equivalent of an S tier for that long. That alone tells you that region is extremely weak compared to the other two, respectfully. Had Lima been born in France, he'd have several majors by now. And also, Lumirank helps EU so that some of their tournaments, end up being majors by assigning higher values to their players and boost their regional points in other ways. But the reality is that some NA Super regionals are harder to win than EU "majors". And I don't think bloom trolls. He just gets rolled over when attending NA. When he attended Watch the Throne last year, there were super high expectations from him. But he lost all of his sets in his pool. People were saying he "underperformed". "Jet lagged". But no, that's just his level when he's on the other side of the ocean. These EU "majors", which lack a lot of top 20 players, are overrated. Heck, sometimes they have "majors" with just 1 top 10 player, if that.
Just wanna mention that this was not an easy weekend for hurt. Asides from losing early, someone told Hurt to DIE after losing to Dominator (like wtf is wrong with that person). I hope Hurt feels better soon and regains his intentions of travelling overseas
That person better not be one of those spectators that complains about overseas players not traveling to the US enough, because yeah, if Hurt decided to stop going because of that, wouldn't blame him at all. Absolute trash behavior.
it was actually during the set, he said it was pretty hard to concentrate after someone telling him to die. He also mentionned that he does still have really good experiences from other tournaments and still met a lot of nice people but damn florida has some idiots
@@Miruk4on top of getting the worst bracket possible for him again
Last time something like this happened it was fake. Did this actually happen
its weird to me how people are so fast to put miya as number 1. They did it last season as well. He's missed top 8 multiple times and has really bad losses when compared to sparg0's resume so far this season
He goes to a lot of tournaments lol that's the argument
Miya has the best resume when it comes to wins.
Both have two P-tier wins. Miya also won two A-tiers, unlike Sparg0. He missed top 8 twice, but Sparg0 also missed top 8 once. Sparg0 outplaced him twice(Supernova and Riptide), but Miya outplaced him thrice(Kowloon Kagaribi, Litvitational, Cirque), even if he didn't outplace him by as much. Finally, Miya wins the h2h against Sparg0 right now. It's closer than you think.
@@legrandliseurtri7495Is the 2024 season going off of post 2024.1 results or the whole year?
@@legrandliseurtri7495 H2H doesn’t mean anything towards lumirank. Miya has worse losses than sparg0 overall this season
Hoping Miya gets the #1 spot, he is on the grind. Going to everything. Rooting for him to take Delta 9, and hopefully we get Shuton v Miya grand finals next weekend.
with this and Acola finally winning a major this season , it seems to be one of the greatest seasons for the fight for number 1, if sonix manage to win LMMM or/and delfino maza, it would be even a closer fight with the 4
Watch as sonic loses lmmm to Spargo and Delfino Maza to Acola or dabuz lol(it would be funny)
Acola is like 4th. He more loses then normal and the aki, lose is one of his worst loses. Sonix, Snow, yoshidora, aki, asimo, & Miya. This is his worst Season.
@@firefatesgaming1855 I'm 99% certain he did not lose to Aki in a ranked tournament. If I'm not mistaken, his only ranked losses so far are to Miya 3x, Yoshidora, Sonix, Snow, Akakikusu, and Asimo. Those aren't bad losses whatsoever. And just for comparison: Miya's list of losses: Acola 2x, Marss, Sonix, Raru, Syrup, Light, Lima 2x, and Tweek. Sonix's list of losses: Snow, Sparg0 2x, Shuton 2x, Light, and Shinymark. Sparg0's list of losses: Doramigi, Acola, Zomba, Mkleo, Kola, Tea 2x, Miya, and Lima. Now, obviously, some context is needed for these lists of losses. Acola is the only one who hasn't attended an invitational, which means he could have taken at most two losses per tournament; invitationals can be more than that because of the pools. Higher attendance in general means more losses too. It also doesn't say anything about the wins of each of these players, but neither do you.
@@legrandliseurtri7495 I'm using aki as short, cause I didn't know how to wrote Akakikusu. I know there is a player named aki in jp. but still sonix worst placement is 3rd, acola is 7th. Acola has a negative h2h vs Miya & Sonix While sonix is positive vs Miya & acola. Spargo negative vs acola & positive vs sonix & Miya ( correct me if I'm wrong) Imo 1# Miya 2# Spargo 3# Sonix 4# Acola 5# Light 6# Shadic 7# Tweek 8# Jpn 9# Jpn 10# Jpn
@@firefatesgaming1855 Oh ok that makes more sense. I still wouldn't say that Akakikusu is a bad loss. Sonix's worst placement is actually 13th, at the luminosity invitational 2. Sparg0 actually has a losing record vs Miya right now. They played only once this season, and Miya won.
Thought on wizzrobes showing. I really want another smash n splash man
i saw this tourney in person and kola was screaming cheering for miya in GF because lima beat him earlier 😂😂
No
Sparg0 relies too much on aegis and should’ve gone cloud vs Lima and corrin vs tea.
I dont know why but Spargo never uses Corrin anymore, I feel like usibg Corrin would help him a lot
@@zavillion893 in the grand scheme of things, corrin doesn't do much for sparg0 and that's why he dropped her. But I do think at this point that corrin could be worth bringing back for kazuya specifically. Though he has done it and almost did do it this time with cloud, just messed up on a read and died for it
Nah, only reason why Miya has so many major wins is because he joins the MOST tournaments out if any player and even then his still has TWO 13th places at P TIER EVENTS. Whereas Sparg0 won those two in absolute dominance. Also, Sparg0 9th at Litvitational 3 only lost to Kazuya cheese and Miya which aren’t bad loses. And Miya lost two Marss and Syrup which are bad losses ngl. Sparg0 still on top currently but Miya is catching up. Sparg0 has to place really well at The throne and Delfino Maza but if he places badly Miya could be number 1 only if he does well at his events. I hope Sparg0 gets number 1 but Miya can take it definitely.
Pretty much
I agree with most of what you’re saying but Tea is a rough loss for a #1 contender, def worse than Syrup and Marss this season
@@shari2383 Tea is a rough loss but Kazuya isn’t I’ll just say it like that
@@Jumogas Oh ur right I forgot about the LumiRank clause that Kazuya losses are cut in half, I am so silly > . <
@@shari2383 what?
Genuine questiom because i think i just missed some events but i thought miyas season started really rough with 2 13th places at p tier events, i know p towr events are really big and 13th isnt bad bur sparg0 has 2 wins and a 3rd at the 3 biggest events of the season so far. I know mia ome the first p tier but i feel like sparg0 has had a much better season. If i am forggeting tournamnets that mia has won then plz let me know im very curious
So he started off the year with two bad events, but the year is split up into two seasons so they don’t affect him, he did get 13th at riptide and supernova though so he still had lower placements, but since acola and sonix have also been weaker in the second half, as of RIGHT now it’s really only him and spargo, but sonix and acola can still catch up
@@ProofBlock ok yeah that'll sense, thank u for the clarification
As someone who doesn't attend tournaments, seeing peabnut doing so well is really exciting. He is the one top player I've ever played against(online) so its amazing to me to see him to do so well
He’s soooo fun to watch
13:11 "its not like tamap had a unbelieveable bad season" what?? He absolutely had, he got 129th, 25th, and 7th at a b+ tier, this season is over for but i really hope he can bounce back next season and lima is better this season, but not overall i think
I wouldn’t count Lima out of getting top ten he’s amazing, and honestly I was just hoping I missed a couple good tamaP runs but damn he’s been struggling, hopefully he can pick it up
@@ProofBlock yes my words for lima are not fair im gonna change that hes amazing, im just getting mad because tamap is my fav player and i watch every tournament he attends
